“First Missionary Baptist Church is My Home Church and will always be my home church, although, I don’t reside there in Union Springs anymore. Whenever I visit there, I know I will feel at Home, I joined FMBC, when I was 10 yrs old, under the Pastorate of Rev. A. B. Clarke. My Parents, and My Grandparents were active members of that Church. I followed in their foot steps and received my earliest learning of the Bible, about God, and how to live my life. I had excellent role models. Too numerous to name. But, my exposure at FMBC was phenomenal. The Teaching, the Experiences, the Programs and the Activities are still embedded in my mind today. My reflections are so vivid, and my love for attending Church stems from my parents taking me to Church for everything. Church was like my 2nd Home (after School), I spent the majority of my time there until I graduated from High School. There was much to do, much to learn, Church was The Place to Be. Whenever, I’m in Union Springs and First Baptist Church Doors are open, I try to attend. First Missionary Baptist Church will always be in my heart and mind. I got married in First Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. A.B. Clarke, how awesome is that. What a Blessing, That was one of the most important days of my life, standing there in the presence of so many loving caring people and in the presence of God, taking my vows to honor God, and cherish my husband to be. That was over 50 years ago and to this day, Joseph “Buck” and I still stay connected to FMBC as much as We can, because of the Love We have for this Church. To God be the honor, praise, and glory.Susie Goodwin Smith”
