5 stars for the new Management! Katherine the community manager, Antonio the Assistant manager and Dewayne the Maintenance Supervisor are here to turn this community around. I have read the past reviews which were all under the past management employees and management company. Greystar has come in with the new manager Katherine and you can already see the improvement that is happening in all areas of the community. She has been putting on fun events, is always available to help with anything and is the reason that I decided to renew my lease. My prior experience may have been a bit bumpy but I know that my future experience is going to be completely different.

My son and his roommate live in BLACK MOLD despite months of complaints. Also they promised me they would get $750 worth of gift cards ($500 for signing up and $250 for inconvenience ). Months have gone by and nothing. I have called, emailed, tried to show up at the office which is often closed in business hours. The kids have done their due diligence trying to solve the problems as well. There are multiple other problems with the apartment. Including flooding dishwasher, broken microwave, the halls stink of garbage, nasty sewage smells. It’s awful because they advertise it as a nice place. And it’s simply been one awful thing after another. They also tacked a lot of hidden fees in the contract that they did not tell us about, even though I asked what is the total, bottom line amount for the unit. One star is too much.AND they repeatedly charge late fees even when the rent is paid on time! Not just once but repeatedly. Also the gated entrance is often broken. And the halls smell like trash. Most of the time. And the little game room you see pictures of? Unusable.I see that The Loft has replied to my review. Telling me to contact them. HA! I have called and called and emailed and emailed. I cannot count how many times.

This is our 1st experience with college apartments rentals and it has been awful from the start! The management has been not existent and not helpful. The place has been trashed in several of the common areas for most of the year! We were promised gift cards and promos that we still have not received.. service calls are TERRIBLE ? the boys were missing furniture in all 4 of their rooms that they were promised as part of their package. The couch had holes in it, carpet had stains in it .. we had to clean the apartment before we could move them in. Never a manager on property, nor can you talk to one ! Or have a manager # … I am just disgusted with this whole situation! Can’t wait till lease is OVER!!!

They will not reply to messages. Still waiting for my son’s gift card that was part of our lease agreement. Was promised after the first months lease paid. 4 months later and we are still waiting. Will not remove the insurance charges after they have been notified at least a dozen times. We have renters insurance and everything was uploaded before he moved in. I was hoping the new management company was better, but that’s yet to be determined.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I was so excited to move into my apartment today just to be giving the ring around first I get a different key from what was on file next I go into the apartment and there is a confederate flag hanging above the kitchen island and when I brought it to the property manager attention she stated “ I understand how you feel my boyfriend is black” as if that was goin to make me feel better in actuality it pissed me off more. I was confirmed for a bigger room and paid my deposit for it only to be told somebody “illegally” switch from there assigned room into mines and after I brought the info forward I was told that it’s nothing that can’t be done and when I asked for my deposit back I was told it was already processed

I have a video as well, but this was 8/13/23 in building one. Upon receiving my child’s keys this is what they assigned to him. Trash, filth, roaches and God knows whatever else was lurking. This entire complex is a dump and they have the nerve to charge extra fees. I finally got my student placed in a different unit not much better but as soon as something else comes available I’m breaking the lease. If you are looking for a clean safe place to put your student DO NOT COME HERE.

If I could give it zero stars I would. They first put me in an apartment filled with dangerous mold, it took me 5 days of living there to finally get switched to another room. They then brought in furniture that was infested with roaches that then spread out through the apartment. That took 3 days to get any help but it’s still an ongoing issue as the furniture was removed but the roaches are still present. My smoke detectors then started going off for no reason and rather than fix them they were unplugged and had the batteries removed. There’s mold and pee in the hallways around my unit and when I brought up these issues asking to be let out of my lease for my own health and safety, they all but laughed in my face and told me that that wasn’t going to happen. The trash rooms are also never cleaned and are often overflowing up to the about 5 feet above the ground, resulting in rats and other pests. DO NOT MOVE HERE. EVER!!!!!

My husband & I moved my little cousin into the apartments on August 13, 2023. First issue we notice was the elevator had an expiration dated April 2023. After making in to the room we noticed stained carpet, roach on wall and as vacuuming floors we noticed rat p**** Fast forward a week later my cousin and her roommates are reaching out to me asking that I contact leasing office because their apartment is infested with roaches, in the stove, cabinets, refrigerator, and walls basically everywhere . They also have complaints of hallways stinking with trash over flow in the hallways. The girls are afraid to take the trash to trash room because all they hear are rats so they take their trash else where. My cousin placed a work order a week later she received a texted stating that they will work the order September 3, 2022. We will get these girls out of the lease, per lease, The Lofts are not complying with their responsibilities. I have attached photos of the disgusting things these girls have sent me! Law suit coming soon!

Checked in at 11 am and got up to our first unit. Roaches everywhere, in cabinets, stove, floor. Furniture was damaged and sawdust was in bathroom. Droppings found in cabinets as well. Mold was also found. Was told we would receive a new unit in an hour or two but didn’t get a new unit until 4/5 pm. Management was extremely rude telling my mom we could drop our lease. There are still roaches and mold in our new unit. Still have not received the keys to our new rooms. There is also mold in our washing machine. Found many roaches daily including on my bed. Also discovered more roach eggs behind the stove. Received very generic textbook customer service responses and will probably receive the same responses to this review as well.

Overall not a terrible experience. Move-in day was incredibly difficult and some of the staff were unnecessarily rude in our awful situation. Nonetheless, the apartment is adequate. The room sizes are bigger than I anticipated and the AC is spectacular. There are a decent amount of bugs and the halls smell at times, but the counters in the kitchen are immaculate. The wifi is spotty at time and maintenance is definitely needed. This complex is what you would expect for the price you pay. It is definitely livable, but may be an adjustment for some.

Move in Day was extremely hectic, as our previous unit was not in great condition, but Craig the property manager, was able to get us another unit. However, we still need a lot of housekeeping done to this new unit so that we’re completely satisfied. I have hope that this will be a good apartment complex to live in when all of our issues are addressed in a timely manner.

The aprtmeny appeared to bot be move in ready. Many things looked to be spray painted instead of properly fixed. 80% of the apartment had to be deeped cleaned before a person could feel somewhat comfortable to live in it. The pros are the people, location, and price. The manager, and office workers are very king and helpful. Its right off of macfarland making a lot of places very easy to get to. The biggest pro is price. Not expensive but not cheap.

The maintenance crew is very slow and most of my requests went unanswered or were not answered in a timely manner. There was mold and dirt all across the apartment when I moved in and it was never taken care of even though it was listed on the move in form. I was forced to move out early because I found a rat in my closet and in my clothes. It has eaten a hole in the wall of my closet. There are also multiple rats living in the trash rooms. When notified and asked about compensation the office did not seemed bothered by the information. The overall condition of the buildings is disgusting. There is trash and animal waste everywhere. Overall I would not recommend.

Only sign a lease here if you do not value your personal health or safety. The staff are extremely unhelpful, the hallways and rooms are filthy, and the police are constantly present because there is always something going down. The trash is very rarely collected from the disposal areas or from the parking garage, which gives the area a horrible smell. There was a huge rat that would go in and out of my apartment for a MONTH, which my roommates and I constantly brought up to management, but to no avail. I had to threaten to cancel my lease or sue before they finally decided to do something. Another thing that drove me insane were the fire alarms! I can't tell you how many times I was woken up at 3 in the morning because somebody pulled the fire alarm for fun. Not to mention that after moving out, I was charged for issues that I constantly brought up to management, but were never acted upon. The only positive I would give to the Lofts is the immense feeling of relief I felt after leaving, knowing I would never have to return to such a dump.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, DO NOT let your child stay at these cesspools if they attend The University of Alabama. Filthy doesn't even begin to describe the hallways throughout the apartment floors leading up to the apartments. Dog s**** puke, rat feces, roaches, trash overflow from the trash rooms that are always full and never cleaned, etc. I could go on and on. The parking deck is a murder or accident waiting to happen. People speed through there without any regard to others. It's just a matter of time before someone gets killed. I've seen third world cesspools that are safer and cleaner than this place in my worldly travels from being in the U.S. Armed Forces. The rooms themselves have gnats, roach problems. The trash rooms are overrun with rats. I've read multiple reviews of peoples floors having give and being damaged. My daughter's floor in her apartment is the same way. It's just a matter of time before the entire apartment falls down through the floor into the apartment below. That's how water damaged the sub floor is. Management and maintenance is a joke. Neither will give you a straight answer and service is non-existent. My daughter's AC has been out for over a week. I had to call and raise HELL just to get someone to bring portable AC units up to her apartment and they still won't give me a straight answer as to when her AC will be fixed and this isn't the first time. It's been broken every year with the same result. This place is horrible. Do your homework and don't be fooled by these lowlifes. You don't want your children staying here. After my daughter's lease is up she is out of this place.
