The staff and doc were awesome he did let me know my baby Tater tot showed her behind and screamed but I expected her to be upset never being away from me he jokes with me sitting with her for any else extended stay type things lol I also took my baby princess to him after some awful people hit her with their utv type thing she was hit at about 10:30 at night but was stable and I cleaned everything and called first thing for her to be checked and even though she has been severely abused in the past by unknown male before coming to me the staff and all were awesome and handled it great! Dr. Johnston even said my bandaging work was professional looking which kinda happens with years of horses and dogs! But they really are awesome , considerate and compassionate . I would recommend them for anyone ! Now it’s time to get doc on the horses ?! They need some annual maintenance and I know they will be great . If you ever told anything else about this office and staff doubt it and try you won’t be sorry! And their prices are much friendlier and understand in this economy! My girl elbow and shoulder and one paw was pretty bad antibiotics pain meds and rest. But he made sure to cover her so she didn’t hurt or be at risk for infection which was my ultimate worry ?

Could not recommend them more! Our cat Wishbone was bitten by a snake as well as shot by someone. Unfortunately, he had to have his leg amputated, but he’s doing amazing. The whole staff took such incredible care of him the entire time and gave us constant updates. They showed such compassion and love toward our beloved pet. Definitely the best around!

The staff got my cat in super quick and easily identified the issue and treated it! We spent less than 30 minutes in there altogether, which we really appreciated. The services are very affordable and the Doctor was super nice and informative. The staff was very friendly and made us feel super welcomed! I will absolutely be recommending them to everyone I can!

We just moved here to Troy and I needed a large animal vet. Dr. Johnson was friendly and came out fast for my horse. He needed his vaccines and dewormer. Shannon the receptionist was super helpful and gave me such great advice to help my gelding gain weight. HIGHLY recommend them!

Went to another local vet…that I won’t name… and they didn’t diagnose my dog. One visit with doc and he knew what it was!

If you are looking for a vet that you trust, stop looking. This is the place! I have been bringing my pug here since he was 8 weeks old. In these last four years, I have used them for boarding, vaccinations, neutering and even middle of the night emergencies. Dr. Johnston is everything you are wanting in a vet. He is kind, caring and genuinely loves each of his patients as if they are his own. My dog suffered a seizure in the middle of the night, he took my call and met me at the clinic without hesitation. I even have friends and family, from other states, who use Pike Animal Hospital. The whole staff are just amazing and so helpful. They truly go above and beyond. (Also, side note, they accept CareCredit - which is so helpful!)

I will not be going back. I brought my 2.5 year old healthy aussie here to be boarded for just a couple night while I was out of town for work. They did not bother to tell me they had been dealing with an outbreak of kennel cough in the clinic before I came, but waited until after I picked her up to tell me she “might” get it. She develops symptoms and is now coughing and miserable, I had to give her benadryl for a fever. I came back because they told me they could get me some medication for her, only for them to charge me $50. I had to pay $50 to help get my dog better after they are the ones who got her sick. Completely irresponsible and without regard for my pet or wallet. When I went to get the medicine they informed me they had had kennel cough in the clinic for over 2 weeks and are struggling to get rid of it. I dropped her off to be boarded only 1 weeks ago. They are taking more patients in knowing that they will get sick and its appalling. I wanted to give it zero stars or at least half of one but it won’t let me.*UPDATE*I called another vet for a second opinion and found out the medicine that Pike Animal Hospital gave me for my dog’s cough… is actually pain killer- not for cough. Get this- the medicine can cause respiratory distress, that’s one of the main side effects of it. Absolute negligence they would give my dog with Kennel Cough a pain medication that causes respiratory distress and try to tell me it’s a cough medicine. NEGLIGENT.

Dr. Johnston was extremely helpful after my husky had an accident. She had a bad case of road rash which caused her to have a gash in her leg. Even with me needing an emergency visit they were able to get me in at 9:30 the next morning. Dr. Johnston was able to suture her leg with a few stitches. It was very obvious he and his assistants care about their patients. I would highly recommend visiting Pike Animal Hospital with any vet needs!

I made an appointment for one day. Got there and was told they could not do scheduled procedures. Ok. Made another appointment for the next day. Get there and there’s a note on the door. Closed at noon. My appointment was at 4. No call, no nothing. They wasted my time two days running.

Do not trust Johnston with your pet! He neutered my dog 2 years ago and we just found out today that he used metal stitches! I had asked him a month after he fixed my dog why the stitches were still there and he said “ oh that’s normal. It takes time for them to dissolve all the way.” The vet we go to now was very concerned about the stitches still being there years after! and the fact that they were metal. Johnston does not listen the pet owners at all! He is very unprofessional in what he does and should not be trusted.

Absolutely wonderful vet. All of my dogs go here and will for the rest of my life. Doc is absolutely wonderful and treats the animals with the compassion and respect that they deserve. He is a no nonsense kind of guy that will tell you like it is and get your fur babies feeling better in no time

I very highly recommended that you DO NOT use Pike Animal Hospital. This disrespectful vet had our Lab, who had been our family pet for 12 years, for the entire day. Somehow between keeping our dog for 8 hours, charging us 400$ just for bloodwork and X-rays, he failed to notice the 5 pound tumor on our dogs spleen. The tumor caused our dogs spleen to rupture in which we took to another vet in town, who was amazing and their entire staff treated us with the upmost respect and professionalism. They had to do emergency surgery for which our pup didn’t make it. Aside from overcharging us, and missing the key diagnoses for the situation, he was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional to my wife and I. His passive aggressive, sarcastic remarks all of which regarding money, were almost overwhelming. Not to mention that he didn’t even send any meds home with us to help my dog. Neither myself nor anyone I know in our community will be using this vet ever again. He really needs to do some self reflection and learn how to be respectful and professional all the way around.
