Beautiful resort. Stayed here when I was in my sorority sisters wedding which she had here. The rooms were so beautiful and the beds were very comfortable . Her wedding was absolutely lovely and was outside in the fall .The tennis courts are really nice and played tennis when I attended Camp Point Clear when I was younger. Came here last year for a quick visit . The golf course is really well kept and maintained. My mother and her boyfriend and friends have been here a lot for a quick holiday trip over the christmas holidays. The views are very beautiful of mobile bay.

A week before our vacation, I called to request an early arrival. I was told that they could only confirm early arrivals same day. I call the day of, and am told that they cannot guarantee an early arrival, and I will need to come to the service desk when I arrive. I go to the service desk and ask for a two hour early arrival. I am told the room is not yet ready, but I can upgrade to a better room that was conveniently available right now. I say no, we will wait. They say they will call when the room is available. Check in time comes, and I have not been called. I go to the front desk and speak to someone else, and the room is ‘just now’ ready. Whatever.
I get to our building. Parking is terrible, I can not find parking near our building. I park across another parking lot and we haul our stuff to our room. No bellhops or bellhop carts were available. We get to our room finally. Children are running up and down the hall screaming and slamming doors. I can hear every single thing said in the hallway through the door, there is no privacy. The mini fridge is broken so our snacks spoil. I call regarding the screaming children, and I am slipped a note under my door that ‘they did not hear any noise’ on their way to check. We order room service, absolutely exhausted from the day. The drinks are somehow warm and the food is somehow cold. Tips are required to be paid up front when food is ordered, so when my boyfriend answered the door and unknowingly was handed a check that asked for another tip, they were tipped again. This is my experience of the first 6 hours at the grand hotel.
Rooms: You can hear your neighbors speaking through your walls and door.
Noteworthy details: Tons of screaming kids everywhere.

The Grand is an absolutely wonderful resort for any family vacation! We went for three nights over Father's Day weekend and loved it. The rooms are clean and spacious, the grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, and there are many different amenities for people to enjoy. My only complaint - if you can call it that - was the lack of dining options on site. There's only a couple restaurants and it's a pretty large resort, so they fill up quickly. Other than that, I have no complaints!

Our stay was only one for one night. Everything was great, until we noticed THREE separate charges pending on our bank account. The charges ranged from $30-80 each. I was told that's "typical" and when I asked what the charges were for I was told "It's just something we do across the board" and the charges should drop in three days. We travel a lot. Never have we experienced this anywhere else. I don't care if it's "typical". It's wrong. I was told they estimate what charges might occur.... For this reason alone we will stay elsewhere next time.

BEST HOTEL I’VE STAYED AT IN MY 30+ YEARS OF TRAVELING ON MY OWN!!! I love this hotel obviously, the service is always amazing, there is a ton to do outside if you want to, the pool is has an adult section as well as pool food/bar if you so desire. There’s really nothing not to love about this hotel. There’s a ton of history to see and read about if you want and the food at Bucky’s Lounge is fabulous. At this point, it’s really your mistake if you don’t take the plunge and not just stay here. I hope you love it as much as we do!!!!
Rooms: Not all rooms have a tub; make sure to request that if you love taking baths :)

This is one of the most best kept secrets in Alabama. The staff is top notch, the food is excellent and the scenery is awesome ?. Highly recommend it for a day trip, overnight, or vacation getaway.
