All Star Pools did an excellent job on installing our new pool. They worked everyday the weather allowed, kept a clean project and the pool is beautiful. They were very easy to work with. I would use and recommend All Star Pools.

Great company to work with on building my pool. I meet with 5 companies from Birmingham, Huntsville and The Shoals to build my concrete pool. It was obvious these guys were the best in all categories. The owners Jim and Ritchie meet with me several times pre project, during and after completion. They’ve always been responsive on anything I needed. I would highly recommend All Star Pools.

We purchased our home just outside of Grant 6 years ago ,partly because we wanted a pool. Over the course of 20 years since they installed it , the light at the deep end had developed a leak and we'd lost a lot of water over the course of a season. So, Last year we had them come out to put a new liner in and eliminate the light, problem solved as one would think. The owner said , oh yeah i know your place, your pool has a river running under it. They originally told us it would be a month but they were here 3 days later (Mid-May 2022) for the liner change. So, we had the pool up 2 weeks early, great. By November 2022 the liner had come off the radiused corners and the bottom rose , causing tears in the liner at the stair bottom corners where the liner is held on with snap strips. So, since November 2022 theyve sent guys out to look at it on 3 separate occasions , with no plan and nothing done and we keep having to call them and then we've shown up to ask how and when theyre coming to fix this. It is now a year after they changed the liner and 6 months since ive called them about the issue . From the looks of it , we wont be opening our pool anytime soon. I ask for Ritchie and we keep getting told hes in Montgomery. As time goes on the damage just gets worse. Liners and installs are $3500 . About ready to have it filled in if we cant get it fixed correctly.Services: General construction

When I traded with All Star to build my pool, I told them I didn’t care when they started, but when they started, I wanted them working on it everyday of the week until it was finished. I should of put it in the contract. They would come and go for up to three weeks at a time without showing up. The concrete was poured in August in the middle of a drought. I saw they was not adding water the the gravel backfill (I’m a General Contractor), and was promised they would before they poured. They did not. My concrete cracked all over the deck. I called them back out the next summer and they filled cracks with grout. Now 5 1/2 years later the concrete is broken all to pieces. Don’t use these people. Will not do what they promise and are clueless to proper construction techniques. I’ve seen some good work they did, but I wasn’t treated the same way.Services: General construction

Pool installation was completed several years ago -- excellent job! Beautiful! Professional people.I called them today with a question about a pump failure and someone got back to me within an hour with a diagnosis confirming exactly what I suspected. They told me where to get the repair part -- saved me (probably) a few hundred $$ that a service company would have charged. A GREAT COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH !Service: Inground pool installation

Had my house built and moved in 12/21. Woodland homes forced us to use All-star if we wanted the pool to be ready when we moved in. I paid woodland 1k to run power to the pool equipment and had to pay electrician 1500 to hook up the equipment. Just an FYI. The pool was not ready at settlement as promised. Took about 5 -6 months before it was “completed”. I had a nice flat back yard but all star put my pool in about 3-4’ above grade for no reason. Now I have to spend thousands to build retaining walls all around my pool so I can plant privacy shrubs. My electrician refused to hook up the pool equipment because the wiring All star did is not to code and is unsafe. My coping is pitched toward the pool, some parts of my concrete are pitched towards the pool, tanning ledge water is supposed to be 6” deep min. But if I fill The pool to the fill line it’s only 3.5”. Which makes my lights stick out of the water about 3”. I was told to my water level should be 1” from the top of the skimmer inlet or 2.5”+ above the fill line. That’s just wrong and a lie. The skimmers don’t function properly at that level. The “bubblers” in the tanning ledge stick up like volcanos and are not bubblers. They are just return jet fixtures. I tried to tell them this as they filled my pool without even telling me. So I turned the water off so they could fix it. I was then threatened with an 8k bill if the water froze and damaged the liner. The pool was 4” out of square ( I told them this and was told it would be fixed, it wasn’t) so now the coping is flush with the pool walls in some spots and overhangs by 3” in others. There are sharp protrusions all over the place that will eventually come through the liner. The pool was supposed to be centered with my deck and it’s 2’ off. ( very noticeable when you walk down the deck steps) They patched in the forms for the concrete decking and the seams overlapped so every 8-12’ the there is a 1” jog outs you can clearly see. They put my transformer for the lights in a grey junction box in the yard ( looks bad and the box retained water so the transformer was sitting in water and rusty after 1 month) It’s supposed to be mounted by the pool equipment. The concrete has huge dark splash marks all over it that won’t come off. They did not put any wire mesh down to help keep the concrete from cracking. When I emailed the list of deficiencies to all star , some of which could and should have been addressed before concrete was poured, I was told by Richie “there ain’t nothin wrong with that pool. In March of 2022 I asked them in an email when these issues will be addressed and have not heard back from them. (It’s now July 2022)

Had to call 8 times over a 6 week period trying to get someone to give me an estimate on replacing in ground pool liner They finally came out without notice and no time frame and left my cover off the pool. When i called to see if it was them Richie the manager said yes. When i asked why they didnt put the cover back. He said because he didnt tell his workers to put it back. Said liner was discontinued and couldn’t give me an estimate. Totally unprofessional and will never deal with them again

It is evident that poor reviews have no impact on improving this company. I know several people that have used this company and not one of them has had a positive experience. I will be sure to spread the word and I have many contacts. If you can’t run your business then find another. You don’t even deserve the one star that I have you, and did I mention overpriced.

Allstar not only built our large neighborhood HOA community pool 12+ years ago, they continue to come out if we have questions or need work done on servicing, age related updates/maintenance/repairs, etc. Jim, Ritchie and, most recently, Zach have always been courteous, knowledgeable and we have 100% faith in their expertise. We look forward to a continuing to work with them in the future and would highly recommend them.-WilliamLake Forest HOA
