As an honors member, I look for Hilton name to stay. This chain was a major disappointment! We have stayed here previously, but I can assure you, this was our last visit. The kitchen staff was very rude and unprofessional. I brought it up to front desk staff and they initially offered an apology. If the kitchen staff worked for me, she would be looking for a new job. The food she prepared was terrible and I passed on everything except the coffee. The internet never worked during our stay. The front desk staff stated it has not worked for several days, and they were informed that if anyone complained, the manager said “take some off their bill”. They did that, but since I work while traveling, FIX THE INTERNET rather than a few dollars off my bill.Overall a major disappointment and not up to the Hilton name

Outstanding all around-great location with plenty of restaurant choices nearby, friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent complimentary breakfast with a variety of choices to suit every need or want.

During this visit, I discovered the shower I had was either burning hot or ice cold. I was allowed to move to another room, however, this meant getting re-dressed, re-packing, and then reversing that in the next room. I did this in the morning as it was late at night, when I discovered the shower issue. The second room had a mediocre, operating shower handle, and the TV was not working in that room. I will not stay at this location again, I have spent hundreds of nights in hotel rooms.

Party of entrance area is under construction so need to be cautious. Breakfast had very limited options and taste wasnt good like a a typical Hitlon hotel has it. Receptionist staff were not so helpful in the morning time shift.

In the first room the ac was not working well. Gentleman at the front desk made it easy to move and second room was much better. The 4star was only that there was a lot of construction/remodel. The closet had a single sliding door -missing oneThe first room had dings along the wall and smelled of wood/reconstruction in generalOverall I think it lives up to hhonors standards but the last star will likely be back when we return next. My daughter lives in auburn so we are there with frequency

Our experience here wasn't as positive as we've come to expect from Hampton Inns. We needed to ask the front desk clerk for some extras (like toothbrushes and an extra pillow). We felt like we were bothering her, and had hoped for more friendly service. Also, we weren't late to check out but were surprised that housekeeping came along to see if we were still there -- it was about 9am! Room was lacking tissues, and the door lock didn't function properly.

I am extremely frustrated a disappointed in my recent experience with the Hampton inn and suites in Opelika. My family and I made reservation in January 2023 for my recent graduation in August 2023- 8 months in advance- and my parents are Honors members. We booked 2 rooms for our stay and even called periodically over the 8 months to ensure our reservation was in the system because we know how busy the season of summer graduation, upcoming recruitment, and move in can be around this time of year.We spoke with several members over the months who were helpful, assuring us our reservation was confirmed and awaiting our arrival. We requested early check-in, fully understanding that this is completely dependent upon availability. The staff informed us we could try to check in around 11am and again explained this would be dependent upon availability. The disaster began upon checkin. I drove in from out of town and arrived at the hotel around 12:30 to see about early check in. After waiting at the front desk while the clerk tended to the phone, the clerk informed me that no one is able to check in early due to the previous night being fully booked. I was rudely dismissed and was very off put by the interaction. The clerk did not ask for my name, confirmation number or any identifying information. I was informed I could check in at 3 and not a minute sooner.Fine and great, I can be patient and wait until the 3pm check-in time. I knew from the beginning that early check in might not be available.Upon returning promptly at 3pm for check-in, I provided my name, photo ID and confirmation number. It was at this point that I was informed my rooms had been cancelled. When or how did this happen, you wonder? I was wondering the exact same thing. The team member informed me there was nothing they could do since the rooms had been cancelled and they were fully booked.Neither I nor anyone in my family cancelled these rooms!!!At this point, I am EXTREMELY frustrated and another team member walks up. She holds up a sticky note with 3 names on it- two of the names were family members of mine. She asked if those were our names and once I confirmed, she informed me that the Hampton Inn canceled our rooms THAT MORNING!!!The hotel cancelled our rooms the morning of our check in due to being over-booked.NOT A SINGLE PERSON from my party was informed of this cancellation and you can imagine the irritation I was experiencing after being rudely dismissed earlier in the afternoon and now learning that my family’s rooms that were booked for 8 months have been cancelled. Not only was this a huge inconvenience and HIGHLY unprofessional, I was even more frustrated because I had an event to be at by 4:15pm- an event I needed to be dressed and ready for- only for me to learn at 3pm that I have no place to put my things or to finish getting ready. The staff informed me that they moved our 2 reservations to the candlewood suites. The staff did not have a direct number to the hotel and called the front desk, having to wait on hold like any other person calling. The Hampton inn staff also said “we thought those affected by this cancellation had been contacted”. Not a single person was contacted from my party!!!The candlewood suites does not include amenities that the Hampton inn has and each room that they assigned us has 1 double bed as opposed to the 2 double beds in our original reservation at the Hampton inn.You can imagine how uncomfortable and un-accommodated we felt having to not only move hotels at a moment’s notice, but also request a rollaway bed and HOPE that one was available!Upon checking in to the candle wood suites, we received an email from Hampton inn saying that we had a “LATE CANCELLATION.”Let me again, reiterate that these 2 rooms were cancelled by the hotel the morning of the reservation!!!!This has been a horrible experience and a terrible miscommunication. The likelihood of my return to a Hampton inn or any other Hilton hotel is highly unlikely and will be avoided whenever possible.

I'm a longtime honors member. I stayed here for business for the first time but won't be back. This is a pet friendly hotel and I knew that up front. When I checked in to my first room, it reeked of nasty dog odor. Was able to move to 2nd room and encountered the same on a lesser level but I dealt with it since I was only here for 1 night. The condition of the hotel in one word is "dirty." The hallway carpets look filthy. The hallways smelled musty. And my room was dirty and needed maintenance. Hampton hotels are definitely declining amongst the Hilton brand. I won't be back.Rooms: Dated, in disrepair and dirty.

We were in town because our son was in the hospital. Needed a good nights rest for a long day ahead. I am an Honors member and assumed that this location would provide the same quality I have come to expect. Problems began with less than knowledgeable desk clerk at check in, to an outdated AC unit that did not keep the room cool. Did not get much rest due to temperature in room and this made for a very long next day at the hospital. Very disappointed with this location and think refund should be in order.Rooms: Outdated AC units that are loud and do not cool rooms

I will not return here. My bed smelled like it had not been changed at all. They could use a deep deep cleaning everywhere, hallways, bathrooms, lobby. However, it looks pretty new just not well kept. Not returning.

If I could give it a half-star I would. We are in a current stay at this hotel. We have stayed at every Hilton hotel in the area over the past 4 years and decided to give this one a try. It is tucked away nicely, so it appears, but the right side of the hotel where we were placed we can hear I-85 because it is literally in the hotel's backyard. The hotel gym and conference areas are undergoing some kind renovation. So, to start, it's dusty in the lobby. The room, ah the room. The paint seemed fresh and the AC worked great. That's where the positivity ends. The ceiling paint was peeling off in the bathroom which is crazy small. The sink/vanity area is located outside the bathroom. I've never seen a faucet located on the side of a sink- but onward! The room overall was spacious. The bed was very soft. The 4 small pillows were obnoxious, foam filled neck strainers. The furniture appears to be here as long as the hotel has. But overall if you can look past that, the room was simple, neat and tidy upon arrival. There is a mini fridge and microwave. There was a sofa and one desk chair that was very old in the room. It appears that they are trying to do some sprucing up but in the least costly way and cutting corners wherever possible. Down to the 'free ' breakfast we went. Currently this is located in a small conference room off the lobby area. The waffle makers are not in use. There were no eggs left at all and bits and pieces of other leftovers. It looked like a mess- it seemed to be blamed on the person who was handling the service, but we saw construction workers eating a lot of food, leaving nothing for guests. Every time something new was brought out there was one particular construction worker waiting to grab it. Ended up with a sausage, pastry, grabbed the last banana. I do not blame the worker. Management needs to control the situation. And if you're offering breakfast to your guests, the very well paying guests should take priority. This is on management, not the poor guy who's trying to keep up with feeding construction workers. There was plenty of juice, coffee, and tea. So if you rely on those, you're good. Ultimately, this is a very difficult time to rebook- it is a busy weekend in Auburn. I'm writing this to help you decide if this is the place you really want to stay. For me, a Hilton Honors member who has stayed at dozens, I can tell you unless there is a total rebrand of this hotel, we would never recommend it. There's a lot of options- go somewhere else. This was not a 'cheap' room by any means and certainly not what we've come to expect from the Hilton brand. And why would Hilton wait until busy season down here to begin this renovation is beyond me. We were never informed of renovations by the way. We definitely would not have stayed here and we will never again. WDE

I was given room 313. The door wouldn't open. The girl at the desk , very unfriendly, she went up to open it & left it ajar for me but I couldn't close it unless I pushed hard then I couldn't get it open again. It's a fire hazard & a death trap. I asked for a different room & this somehow got her disjointed. Later I heard her talking about me to another guest calling me crazy. I told her "do not talk about me then she yelled at the top of her lungs to check my attitude. WTH is going on here? I'm definitely calling Hilton but first thing I'm going to speak to the manager.

Clean hotel!!!! Room was spacious. Sits back off the main road, which I like. Easy to get to off the interstate, lots of gas stations/restaurants/activities nearby. About a 15 minute drive to Auburn's athletic stadiums. Breakfast had a variety of options...hot foods were bland but salt, pepper and hot sauce were available. Coffee/Tea were available in the lobby 24/7. Our digital key did not work though on the side door and the elevator did not work the day we arrived (I had surgery recently, could not lift my suitcase and it was a bit more than my teenage daughter could handle going up the stairs but a guest offered to take all of our luggage up the stairs).

My room was clean, there were a few spots that needed some maintenance but nothing major. Just some peeling paint in the bathroom and minor cosmetic things. Continental breakfast was very good. Lighting in my room 207 could have been better. Overall very good, would stay here again.Food & drinks: Great breakfast buffet. Some snacks in lobby. Coffee was available all day.
