I only went here to drop off some dog crates today. In the past, this organization helped me out when I had several female kitties all giving birth within weeks of each other. So when the kittens were weaned, they came and took them to adopt them out when they were ready. It was a huge relief to have those animals in a safe environment and not have to try to feed another 12 or 16 mouths right away. It was a stressful time for me. I was so grateful for their help.

Great shelter! They love and care about their animals. We are currently fostering adoptable dog Monkey and she is so sweet! She would be great in a young family since she's such a lovebug and so gentle. She does well with other dogs and would benefit from a fenced yard, but she'd be a good fit as an apartment dog as well being a medium sized pup. She can be very energetic or a couch potato - she really just matches your mood! We believe that she is mixed with lab/hound due to her webbed toes and personality. She's also very easy to train! If you're interested in adopting Monkey, definitely look on the HSWA website!

I adopted my cat Biscuit from the WAHS Cat House. A volunteer scheduled a day during the week for me and let me spent several hours hanging out with the cats available for adoption. Since then, individuals from the humane society have answered many, many questions of mine and recommended a fantastic veterinarian. They know about each and every cat in their care which helps them make great matches between cats and adopters.
