“I love love our bank and all that work there. However it would be really great if the new location in New Hope would take cash deposits at the New ATM. But for some reason it's taped off and the option is no longer available. With today's technology it should not be a problem to have that option on the ATM.”

“Update: a representative called me after my review to get more information, and say she would be retraining. I appreciate that they made the effort to at least call. We still have not gone back inside the branch, but have used the ATM/ATM teller and that was pleasant with no issues. I don’t know where the remote tellers are actually at. I changed the stars from 3 to 4 to reflect the effort to improve the members’ experience but I still feel all the previous information is still valid.I’ve never had a horrible experience here. I’d say this branch is better than others. And some branches are better than this one. We’ve received a lot of conflicting information on questions we’ve had, but we still maintain 8 different accounts at this bank. I have written off prior issues over bad training and let it be and moved on with my day. No prior experiences were as alarming as the one that made an impression on my daughter about the credit union’s ability to keep her trust and confidence as we teach her about earning, proper spending and saving of money. Redstone puts a lot of emphasis on these kids’ checking yet we never received the piggy bank and other items promised when opening the kids accounts. They didn’t have any available. Why advertise when you don’t have it. We just bought them ourselves so the bigger issue was recently when I came to this branch with my oldest daughter who recently set short term and long term money goals. All our daughters have a kids saving account designed specifically to help them learn to save bills and coins. The tellers at my bank insisted we use the coin counter machine when the kids come to deposit money, not the tellers, but either way you always end up going to the tellers. They prefer leaving it up to a machine to count her deposit and not dealing with the kids. It doesn’t create a welcoming environment for children to relate trustworthy people to keep care of their money. They are learning to deal with a machine. So, the machine could not process some of the coins. It was less than a dollar in coins, much of it pennies. We go to the teller and explain we’ve tried the machine and it doesn’t take all the coins and he said he could not take it if it was more than $1 in coins. So, I counted it out for him twice in front of him, separating it into stacks of 5s for easy recounting. This way he could see it was not. It was roughly .75 +/- . Still the teller himself took all my daughters coins and spent nearly 10 minutes running every coin through the machine multiple times until we got down to 5 pennies that he just could not get the machine to accept, before he accepted defeat and agreed to accept the few coins. It was ridiculous. My daughter left the bank think the man who she viewed as in charge of protecting her money couldn’t count to 100. She decided to take the money back out in cash, because she did not trust the teller. She is 12 and will soon be allowed to have a checking account with the bank, but every time we go in they want to refuse coins, and where she does have bills, that’s how they collect smaller money amounts over time. This isn’t a one time situation, but was the most elaborate example that has happened to us. My family has worked out a deal with the kids now where they will buy their coins for bills, so Redstone doesn’t have to stress on counting coins. Now we have piles of rolled coins that goes to another popular credit union in the area because they taught the girls to count and roll the coins and provide rolling sleeves. Coins are treasury as much as bills. This was such a bizarre situation to experience at a bank. The level of stress he had over just seeing less than a $1 in coins was insane. This is your job, guy! It wasn’t a good face for Redstone and after we go to the point where the same teller couldn’t accept the coin amount of 0.34 in addition to his bill deposit from my husband, we just left. I felt compelled to write this review in hopes that the branch would take note. You have at least two tellers that cannot count.”
