This was great place to visit. They have 2 mounds you can walk up which give you a great view of how large the settlement was. There are several wallinking trails, a village you can walk through, a river over look and a museum. The museum also has food and drinks for sale.

Great fun and history for the family but the festivals are where the real fun is when the kids get to see history in action. And great coffee and snack shop.

Very educational! I went with some friends and definitely worth the $8 to get in. It’s insane to think these mounds have lasted hundreds of years. The museum was really cool and they also had natives performing outside. Super cool trip, highly recommend!
The University of Alabama’s Moundville Archaeological Park is one of the nation’s premier Native American heritage sites. Called “The Big Apple of the 14th Century” by National Geographic, Moundville Archaeological Park was once the site of a powerful prehistoric community that, at its peak, was America’s largest city north of Mexico.
