This Hotel was a pleasant surprise. This was an existing warehouse as well as other things throughout the years. The room are beautiful and spacious with brick and exposed wood. Walking distance from the tunnel with plenty of great food and bars. A short distance from the water front and amphitheatre. The breakfast is standard but plentiful.

My only complaint about the room is that the TV is on the other side of the room and it's blocked by the petition/desk. What in the world? You can't even watch the TV from the bed. Whats the point? The toilet had pee in it and a drop of pee in front of it.Rooms: There was pee in the toilet. We flushed and sanitized but why?

Loved this hotel with great character in this historic building. Room was spacious, with huge window. Highly functional desk space. Cool bedside reading lamps. Location for seeing downtown Montgomery can’t be beat. Breakfast was a cut above other hotel breakfast, coffee was good. Staff were friendly and responsive. Only feedback is for clearer directions to affordable public parking.Walkability: Walking distance to many versatile dining options and riverfront.

It's a great location in a historical building with cool architectural details. I don't think there are any rooms in this hotel that look exactly the same. The developer in charge of the renovation of this space actually worked with historians to preserve the historical features. I was blown away by the amount of sunlight coming from these enormous red brick windows. The coolest part is that the high ceilings have wood beams, and reach a height of about 16 feet. I reserved a single King Suite with a river view (Room 410). It was a very spacious room! There's a microwave and a refrigerator to the right when you first walk into the room. There's a Keurig coffee machine near the flat screen TV. Everything looked modern and new. The furnishings are from West Elm. The bathroom was clean and bright. There are bath gel, shampoo, and conditioner wall dispensers that are conveniently located in the shower stall. They have blackout window curtains that work almost too well. The room gets super dark with the high ceiling. There was a MGM Biscuits playoff game the first night I was there, and the curtains totally blocked out the huge LED field lighting. As for sound, I think I may have heard the train horn faintly in the background once or twice. I normally wear earplugs, but I never had to use them the entire time I stayed at this hotel. The room also stayed cool the entire time. I never had to adjust the temperature. The hotel staff were all friendly & helpful. Checking in was a breeze. Typically check-in time is at 4:00 pm. I arrived early, but fortunately my room was ready. Breakfast is included with your room fee. It's more like a continental breakfast with a few hot breakfast options. You can make your own waffle, or get some scrambled eggs and bacon. I'd say it was an average breakfast.I wanted to give a 5 star review, but unfortunately I didn't get any housekeeping services. The reservation confirmation said that guests will receive housekeeping every other day. I stayed there for 3 nights and didn't get that service. They did set me up with 3 sets of towels, and I'm grateful for that. Other than that, it was a beautiful and comfortable stay. I wouldn't hesitate to book another stay at this hotel in the future.

Staff were very accommodating and the rooms, (layout) seemed gigantic due to the open floor plan. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The breakfast lacked a bit but still had the essentials. I’d stay again just because of the gorgeous rooms.Rooms: Open floor plan was amazing. High ceilings and decor felt lavish. Loved it.

I have traveled extensively for work and pleasure for decades. My work has taken me almost literally around the world. Your property is the worst experience I have ever had. Absolutely the worst. Hotels are supposed to be synonymous with and the epitome of hospitality. Your policies, your management and team do not even comprehend the meaning of hospitality.

I was visiting my family that lives in union springs Alabama, and stayed at this hotel.i check out on July 5th and return home to Detroit on 6th and realized I forgot a pair of expensive sandals. I called the front desk several times for them to tell me no there not there so where are they I know that is where I left them.Housekeeping manager wasn't helpful at all.

Hard to find. A small 1 x6 foot sign was on the hotel. Metered parking slots were on the streets (free on weekends) but several teenagers were going around looking into the cars parked on the one way street beside the hotel. We opted for the valet parking. The desk manager and valets were very polite and helpful, telling us how to get to the various eating places.Food & drinks: Several food restaurants were within walking distance.

This place was so beautiful! It is set in the heart of downtown Montgomery! Valet parking made it easy but can be a bit expensive, (well worth it in my opinion). This building has exposed brick walls, massive wood beams and large windows! I loved our view overlooking the street below! Our room was immaculate and the service impeccable! I would have loved to stay there longer (we only had one night) but would definitely come back and stay there while exploring the city.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It was originally a food warehouse built in the early 1900s. When it was turned into a hotel, the owner wanted to preserve features of the original building. So, the rooms were built around the huge structural beams and brick walls. This makes for some interesting spaces. No cookie cutter rooms here. Those who like uniformity may be unhappy. I thought the place was fascinating, and the designers created some very interesting spaces. For instance, there were huge metal doors dividing areas within the old warehouse. Instead of removing them during hotel construction, they were fastened to the walls and appear as design features. They do provide breakfast, which was also interesting and a little different from the standard complimentary hotel breakfast. For example, instead of a steam tray of scrambled eggs, there was some kind of eggy dish each day. I remember that on the first morning they had individual quiche. It seemed clear that the kitchen was basically heating up prepared dishes, but they were tasty and there was no problem going back for more. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We all work for a living, so when we travel, we always tip generously. From the valets to the housekeeping staff, to the front desk, everyone seemed genuinely grateful (and a little surprised).I would like to go back to Montgomery to spend more time at the Legacy Museum, and if I do, I'll stay at the SpringHill Suites again.PS - Our room had streaming service on the TV, instead of cable! We just had to login to our accounts and we could watch whatever we wanted. Such a nice change from the typical programming we're used to in hotels.Nearby activities: This hotel is one block from Commerce Street, whose primary commerce was in enslaved people. We spent most of a day walking from the river, where the boats would dock and unload their human cargo. We then went through a tunnel under the railroad tracks, where the enslaved were marched up to the start of Commerce Street. We passed buildings that had been slave depots and slave warehouses, as well as offices of slave brokers.Eventually, we reached Fountain Square. There's a sign commemorating the site that was obviously erected by civic authorities. We had to look a little for the plaque that identifies the square as the City's Slave Auction. The Rosa Parks Memorial statue is located on one side of the Square, and there are permanent signs all around the area, describing how the slave trade was conducted in Montgomery. Our first day in the city was spent at the Legacy Museum and the National Memorial to Peace and Justice, and we felt the weight of history as we went on our self-guided tour. I described our tour of Commerce Street as feeling as though I was wading thru a river of blood.Walkability: The hotel is on the river side of the downtown area and there is plenty to see all around. Montgomery is pretty flat, so walking around is easy. I was in a wheelchair, and still was able to get everywhere we wanted to go. The only issue was when some of the many street trees had grown under the sidewalk and cracked the pavement. And, like many older cities, the curbs were of different heights. But there wasn't much vehicle traffic so a walking tour is definitely doable.

The staff was so friendly and accommodating for my guests and I who were in town for a wedding. We were right across the street from the wedding venue which was so convenient. I left my makeup kit which was packed for the bride and housekeeping put it in the lost and found and kept it for me! Very kind people!
