With a lot of negative reviews, I’d like to shed some light on my experience with this location. I have rented twice now and both times I have had no complaints. I was in and out in flash and both reservations were never compromised.
The first visit I did have an older vehicle and the check engine light came on. Although inconvenient, I was able to bring the car back and swap it for an upgraded vehicle as an apology.
I will continue my business with them. Thank you for making my trips easier and expedient!

They only get 1 star because I could not give them zero. Awful service. Even with no customers, they don’t have cars to fill the reservations they have accepted. Leads to long waits where you’re trapped in the airport. Do yourself a favor and utilize an alternate service when flying into Montgomery.

After a long day of terrible flight delays, I come down the escalator to see the Hertz employees packed up and heading out the door. All the other rental car agencies are still at their desks renting cars out. It's so unprofessional for an airport rental agency to close before flights arrive. Do yourself a favor and go with any other agency here. Stay away from Hertz, or they'll make sure a bad day gets worse.
Hertz, I'm not leaving a message on your site so you don't have to suggest it in a reply. Just make sure your people are there when we arrive, thank you.

Had advanced reservation. Arrived at 7:15pm. Counter was closed. Contacted Hertz via chat who told me they couldn't do anything to help me. Horrible business practice when a reservation is on record at an airport with late flights or subject to delay. Clearly this company has no concern for its customers.

Pickup: Vehicle was not ready for pickup upon arrival despite the reservation made weeks in advance. However, the customer service rep was able to get me one sooner than the hour she said it would take. Reminds me of the Seinfeld skit, they know how to take the reservation, but they don’t know how to hold the reservation lol
Drop Off: Before operating hours drop off was easy. I recommend taking a picture of where you dropped off the vehicle (spot number), gas and mileage gauge, and picture of the return document before putting it in the drop box. You’ll need this if they didn’t process the return timely.
Post Drop Off: The local office didn’t process the return in the system. I received a notice from Hertz that the vehicle was overdue. The Hertz agent stated that I needed to contact the local office. Good luck with that… ANSWER THE PHONE! A attempted to call at different times of the day but no one answered. The return had to be processed through Hertz’s online agent… could’ve done that to begin with, but I guess they wanted me to experience their local office’s customer service. Well, it was not great so here’s your feedback in hopes that you can fix this for future customers.

Customer service from one particular employee is terrible. The other employees are fine, but this man is awful. I’ve complained about him before and been told they know he’s a problem which is why I’m not saying his name… I’m not here to embarrass him. Today he tried to overcharge me for a reserved vehicle. I called the customer service line and they quoted me $150 less than what he tried to charge me. It’s frustrating that HERTZ doesn’t have more accountability.
Unfortunately this airport is small so there are not many rental car options and if I could rent somewhere else I would but I have to rent here because of my job.
The cars are not clean, but then again that’s not much different than other rental companies. I would suggest to bring your own sanitizer and do a safety check before driving off. I’ve had to request news cars due to cleanliness and malfunction concerns but it’s a small airport so they’re often sold out.
I haven’t had to call roadside assistance so I’m not sure how the response is here in this area.

I gave this place 5 starz only because of Maddie, this employee is amazing, i was stranded and all other employees told me what i couldn’t do, but not her she found a work around for me and I was able to make it to my destination on time. She was very knowledgeable, respectful and showed empathy to my situation. Im extremely grateful for her.

They lost my confirmation until I found a screenshot of it. Car smells like smoke, fuel gauge is broken and brand new Buick doesn’t want to start. Phone is disconnected at office to call for assistance.

Fast easy rental car company! When they have availability that is! This is not going to be where you’ll find your holiday rental car unless you book super early!! But on a regular Tuesday they are my top choice?

My vehicle was nice enough and was ready on time. The employee that waited on me was very unfriendly to the point of being obnoxious. I have no way of knowing if she was just having a bad day or is simply always that way. She didn't explain anything to me and made me feel as if I was an annoyance. Whatever the case may have been, I can't honestly recommend this location to anyone.

I had the pleasure of visiting Montgomery, AL from 4/26 - 4/28. Jyra checked me in and had my car already set up for an expedited check in process. She provided some places I should consider for dinner and all her suggestions were great. Dante assisted me at check out in which there was a minor problem with billing. He was yet still polite and helpful and made sure I received his manager's information, Chris. Chris already had a note on my problem and was working on it when I reached out. He was also very professional in handling the matter and resolved in within 48 hours. Despite that system hiccup, they all were still very professional and helpful.

We made a reservation because we got stuck on the airport so 8 a.m we were ready to leave. The girl at the desk wasn’t helpful or friendly. That’s literally her job. She just kept saying we have no cars and no to all the questions. Finally after many people just left someone kept asking questions and she said they get the cars delivered and she didn’t know when they would get there. (That’s all she had to say in the beginning. Around 8:30 we finally got into our car to leave)

Check your bank statement folks. I was charged a $400 cleaning fee for no reason. There was no one in the parking lot to confirm receipt of my car or that my car was clean. Additionally, they did not notify me of the cleaning fee, they just added the charge and never emailed me or called me about it. If you’re going to take $400 from someone, you have to let them know. Also, the numbers listed on google maps doesn’t actually lead you to their front desk. I even got a different number from hertz corporate and that doesn’t work either.Avoid this hertz location, they are not to be trusted.Update 5 Feb 2024: The link they provided doesn't work. Get my cell phone from the reservation and call me. I will be providing an update whether the "owner" calls me or not.
