Went into ace the other day and the staff has fallen off. It is hard to get help from people like it use to he 6 months ago. Aaron was not helpful and acted really shady when I was looking at tools. Felt uncomfortable while shopping. Some employees were laying around on the swings and patio furniture in the store. Still have excellent employees like John yow and Kevin and Steven who are helpful when they are working but the staff they had when I was there just were not engaging and helpful. I miss the days when you go into a small hardware store and get good help.

It’s good for small things. I come here for garden and yard supplies, and yes it’s more expensive but it’s convenient at times. But I will say don’t buy lawn equipment because they don’t do returns. They have signs stating this and it scared me away a few times.

I have spent quite a bit of money at this store over the years. However, my recent experience will cause that to not be the case anymore. I purchased a lawn mower from this store. Less than two weeks later, the same mower went on sale for $500 off on the company website. I understand that the website and the store are technically independent. In fact, I'm sure that they're going to post here and say the same thing because it's literally all they're going to say in lieu of doing the right thing. When I called, asking if I could have the price difference, given that I purchased an assembled floor model, it was well under two weeks since I had done so, I was directed to call the national number. They told me that they have no capability to even see the order and to contact the store again. The store told me that they're separate from the website and that they weren't going to honor the price difference.They're separate, except when it's convenient for them. I asked if I could return the mower so that I could purchase it from Lowes for $1000 off that same mower. They said no, because it's an Ace Hardware (the big national brand's) policy that you can't return it once it's been used. If I were to go to Ace's website, purchase that mower at that price and choose to pick it up at the store, they would sell me that exact same mower from the exact same inventory at the website's sale price. So if they're so independent, then why are you obligated to follow their return policy, and honor their price if you buy it online, but can't refund the price difference? You should not shop here. You're not really shopping at an independently-owned business. Their products cost more money than the big box stores, their hours are not as convenient as the big box stores, their return/refund policies are a straight-up joke, and despite being labeled as "the helpful place", they are anything but. There is no reason to shop here if this is how they plan to conduct business. And please keep in mind, I've been shopping here for years. I now have hundreds of dollars in Ace Rewards (which are borderline useless anyway), and I'll be closing my Ace Rewards account with that balance pending so I don't provide any more business to Ace. If you're going to claim to be an independently owned business, then you should act like it, and not burn members of the community in which you do business.

Absolute worst experience I have ever had went there with a couple of things I was looking for to start knocking out some of the repairs and just upkeep of my home and was repeatedly harassed by the staff asking the same questions over and over and since I was browsing and checking options as well as cost and comparing things I was in no rush and as I am generally a private person I paid the employees not much mind and continued to my shopping when I was rudely accounted by what I have to assume is store manager from his aggressive, accusatory behavior ans he proceeded to follow me like some 3rd grade bully harassing me and making derogatory statements and honestly I was shocked to see such an rude, unintelligent, and just overall embarrassing and immature behavior from a so called professional. I will never ever set foot in such an atrocious malicious store again and would advise the rest of you to do the same the store is very poorly stocked the employees are about as knowledgeable as a box of rocks and just rude, arrogant, hostile, immature bullies who I'm sure contribute to the fact that the store is always empty and they never get in anything new. By far the worst overall staff and experience I have ever had and the franchise should be embarrassed by and would do well to simply wipe the vile slate clean and just try and start over again. Still shaking my head in complete disbalief

Great service. Had product available in-store. Clean, large inventory and courteous, friendly staff, knowledgeable about the product. Ample parking and convenient disabled access and parking. Highly recommend for friendly, hometown customer service.

So glad we now have an Ace Hardware in Montgomery. Nice, clean store with helpful staff. Only wish they had popcorn.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I went here this morning to pick up blades I had sharpened. I went back to the key counter and as usual, no one was around. I called the store from my cell and when a lady answered, I told her I needed some assistance at the back key counter. She said “ you’re in the store?”… I said yes and she said someone would be there shortly. This same lady walked back to the counter and immediately started telling me that next time I need help I need to walk around the store and find someone to help me. I said “No. I’ve done that in the past and that’s the reason I called- so I wouldn’t have to wander around the store.” She then said that if I don’t want to find someone then I need to tell the person at the register when I walk in that I need help at the back counter. I said I called the store to get help and I asked her to please just get my items so I can leave. Of course, she had an angry/irritated expression all over her face. As she walked to the back I apologized “for being such an inconvenience to her.” She said I wasn’t and I said that she seemed very irritated. She then proceeded to start telling me that next time I just need to go find someone to help me. I again asked her to get my items and she finally did. I expressed how rude she was to the man at the register, but of course, he just smiled and said “Ok.” (Which translates to: Ok- I don’t care and neither does anyone else.)There was absolutely no reason for this lady to keep arguing with me because she didn’t approve of me calling the store to ask for help. Needless to say, I will not be back to this store.

Nice clean, organized store. Employees were always coming up to ask if we needed help which is rare these days anywhere else. Will always go there for hardware/specialty needs!

Got propane tank filled, service was good at tank and at register. Everyone was very friendly and helpful when I asked for help to find a part after getting tank filled.
