I don’t do reviews super often, but my experience with Amy at the bakery at the Monroeville AL location was the best customer service I have ever experienced. I called and asked for a basic cake so I could have something last min to work with for my daughter because life gets crazy. Amy gave me pricing info suggestions and was incredibly knowledgeable about services I had no idea Walmart even offered! What an absolute pleasure to work with! The cake not only tasted amazing but was the most beautiful cake Iv ever gotten from a Walmart bakery in years of purchasing. I will be contacting corporate, and local management to inform them just what a gem that they have working for them, as excellent customer service isn’t easy to come by. Amy made mine and my daughter’s day. This woman deserves credit and a raise/promotion! Please see the attached image of the cake as she deserves recognition!
Edit: any damages to icing seen was only due to transporting- this cake was perfection when picked up/purchased.

Not going to elaborate all the specific bad experiences I have had at this Walmart; no one has all day for that. If you shop there regularly, I am sure you have had similar/same issues. I have chosen to avoid this location. (I know they’ll miss me about as much as I them.) Offers very limited choice of brands & customer service is basically non existent. I don’t recall, even once, going there & having a frustration free shopping experience. Always multiple common & sale items will be out of stock. (Do be aware of the pick up shoppers powering about with the big blue buggies!) Dare ask a question and see how many different answers or “I don’t know” and walk aways you get. I do appreciate the few staff that have been very kind & helpful. It is a shame this Walmart has such a monopoly over Monroe County.

Look, it is what it is. Go in, get your stuff, leave. That's all we can do, if you can shop at another local store, do it, I do.
Costumer service has been DEAD in most small AND giant businesses for 50+/- years.
Don't expect valued customer service, expect to be avoided, not welcomed and even seen as part of the reason employees HATE their jobs.
When shopping anywhere, keep the above statement in mind and never take an employee's behavior personally, it's a symptom of societal collapse. 😎

The please is having less and less options on a regular basis. This location seems to be about bringing in name brand items like Chick-fil-A, Whataburger, Slap-ya-mommy, and other brands.
I am starting to drive an hour away to another Walmart just so I can actually have options of buying what I want. That name brand crap is not forced upon me

Walmart is to rich not to have tap to pay at the day and age, it's 2025 when will they get tap to pay??? All other shoping centers have it.

I like going to this Walmart. I know where everything is and checkout is easy. The only thing is if you need any Shaving products, they are locked up.

Went to Walmart in Monroeville al stayed in sporting good thirty mints trying buy a knife no one would come talk to us we page them 3 times no one came back to sell to us so we left and went shopping sum were else
