It is unbelievable how thrifty/hertz treats their customers, I am perplex! I had to make a change of the airport I was going to make the delivery of my rental car to the Mobile Downtown International Airport. I requested this by the call center and was charged an extra $28 fee just because of the change, after already paying around $200 just because I was not delivering my car at the same airport I picked up the car. Arriving at the airport, 5:20 pm, there is no car rental counter and no signs of car rental delivery anywhere. After having to wait 45 min to be attended by the call center the attendant started giving me instructions that wasn't making no sense, making run around in circles repeatedly, until he discovered that he was informing about the delivery at the regional airport. Making a long, long, very long story short, we discovered there is a key delivery box hidden at one corner of the airport. I had to lead the attendant that was giving me nonsense instructions on how to park and procedures to leave the car. Resuming, I had to run back to the car under pouring rain to get the information of the milage of the car and when entering the car I put my backpack in the backseat of the car and when I left the car I forgot the get the backpack and only noticed this the instant I delivered the key in the box. This was already around 6:45pm, and my flight scheduled to leave 8:30 pm. It took me other 25-30 m

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever encountered with a rental car company. We have used MOB regional airport for 3 years mostly through Avis, we decided to use thrifty since it was a little cheaper. Went to pick rental up 15 minutes after they opened and the representative said they had “no clean cars” that it’d be about a 30-45 minute wait. Almost 2 hours later they called to say it was ready. 10/10 do NOT recommend using thrifty or anything Hertz related. Absolutely atrocious customer service and a piss poor company all around. After receiving the vehicle it smelled tremendously like cigarette smoke.

Sitting here waiting with my daughter for her car the she reserved ahead of time for her trip. It was supposed to be ready at 7:00am. We got here at 7:30am and was told it would be 30-45min wait for a clean car. It is now 8:40am and now they say they do not even know how long. They really just don't seem to care...as we are watching other people get cars.

Car was great. I DID not enjoy my credit card being used in 3 different states in one day after I paid for my rental. First and LAST TIME using Thrifty. Or should I call it THEFTY RENTALS. ???Guy at the counter was also VERY RUDE. ?Never again.

DO NOT AGAIN DO NOT COME HERE . As per the agents here there is always a 3 to 4 hour wait. It doesn't matter if you pre book or walk up , the wait time is 3 to 4 hours. Go to another car rental.

I booked through a 3rd party with an unknown rental agency and ended up with thrifty. Typically I just use Enterprise and have used them for years but I was told none of the locations had any cars only SUVs and I just needed transportation to work for a car repair. Well the shop wasn’t finished by the time it was time to return the vehicle. I called to make an extension and was told I couldn’t pay with my debit card. I booked with my debit and provided a credit card for the $200 hold. I used a card with a smaller balance so I could hold my larger card for the car repair. I did not want to pay for the rental with my credit card. Was told over the phone that they couldn’t process with the debit over the phone to drive to the location which mind you is across town for me. I get to the airport to be told we don’t process extensions at the desk anymore. First time using thrifty last time using them as well. Never had this issue with Enterprise and they could care less at the desk about me being stranded. I was 2 hrs earlier than the drop off time because I was told to go to the site and had to call someone to pick me up. Horrible communication poor customer service. Keep it. I was able to find a rental with Enterprise for the next day.

They charge an extra $121.68 to the prepaid fee once you go to pickup your vehicle. Concession Fee, Customer Facility Charge, and Taxes.

Terrible experience from start to finish. I’ve used both other big name car rentals within MOB airport and never had any issues. I figured, Thrifty was slightly cheaper this time, let me give them a try. Never again! The first car I picked up threw a “shut down engine” immediately light. Upon popping the hood it had no coolant (see photos). I had to have the car towed back to them. The best part was when I arrived I was told I was put at the back of the line for my replacement vehicle. Meanwhile the call center women assured me I’d have a replacement car waiting due to the inconvenience they caused. I’m now on hold because I was overcharged and need to deal with that and it prompted me to review this company. I rent cars frequently and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a car rental company. Spend the extra few bucks and go with enterprise at MOB, top tier cars and service compared to Thrifty.
