“We were invited to a Womans Missionary Union meeting at Dauphin Way Baptist Church. The meeting focused on helping under served people groups around the world. The emphasis that particular day was refugee relief for victims of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. Food and winter supplies are currently flowing in to the Ukraine funded by this and other Baptist churches in the area. There was a speaker who helps as a "boots on the ground" coordinator moving supplies where needed most. The ladies group there served lite mid-morning refreshments which were all delicious.”

“My daughter attends this daycare/preschool and me and my husband love it. The staff is amazing and they always have fun activities for the kids and the families. My daughter started with some separation anxiety, but pretty quickly she started telling me she wants to go to school. I am very happy with how she is loving preschool.”

“This is an amazing school! The teachers are passionate about what they do and devoted to advancing the children's learning. They teach a lot of essential life skills at an early age and ingrain the children with an independent, self-confident attitude. Preschool is preparatory for kindergarten and focused on teaching the children to be self sufficient. The program for kindergartners seems very advanced - I'm really impressed with what these kids pick up at such a young age, far more than I learned in kindergarten (public school in MO)!”

“We moved here from out of state, not really knowing anyone. Weinackers (University) was the second daycare I interviewed to take care of our son and I truly made the right choice in choosing them. Our son has made great friends and learned so much. The teachers and director communicate frequently with my husband and I about how he did, any concerns, or coming events. It’s so nice to know our son is in good hands with people we can trust while we are at work.”

“My son attended in 2004. He was on the spectrum and I had tried everything to help progress. I used to teach school so found this center and watched for years. Eric, being so sting willed, I had to let him realize he couldn’t go farther. It would have been a waste of a lot of money otherwise. I was asked if there was one thing I would like him to accomplish and I said reading, writing a sentence and hopefully write a short paper-figuring I was asking way too much. It was 3 months and didn’t make him do make up work. He went to Catholic School and they cooperated. I sat in on a session and had no idea what they were doing and I taught for 13 years, had my master, double major in elementary Ed and special Ed and directed a Sylvan Learning Center. But on last day he handed me a 3 paragraphs that made sense. I was thrilled. This was the turning point for him. He became independent and able to do his work alone-YAY! From there he finished high school with passing grades, then 4 years in military and 2 tours in Afghanistan, then 4 years of college and now in graduate school in archaeology. He has even invented a tool for his department. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen. I don’t know where he would be if not for this center. I also don’t know why 3 stars. This isn’t a center for all children. Sylvan, which I directed for 2 years, works great for children that are behind or have learning disabilities because they have a unique way of presenting information. I took my son there and it didn’t help at all. This center has unique way that I couldn’t understand but worked. I would highly recommend this center especially for high functioning children on the spectrum.”

“The Alabama School of Math and Science is outstanding. It offers excellent college-level courses, and the residential environment allows students to gain experience living away from home, which helps them when they arrive wholly prepared for college.”
