BED BUGS! WOULDN'T REFUND NIGHT!
I'm a huge researcher, reading reviews before I book a place, so I want to share my experience to give another perspective, in case it might help someone or prevent repetition.
TLDR: I had welts from bed bug bites covering my face and arm from my stay. I alerted the hotel that night, after the bites appeared during the day. The hotel would not issue a full refund.
I arrived midnight Thursday. The room appeared nice, newly renovated, and clean. Sadly, the next day, I developed large welts on my face and arm, in clusters on the side I slept on. That night, thoroughly examining my room, I found a bed bug under my pillow, next to a small reddish brown spot on the bedsheets (also indicating the sheets had not been changed).
I brought the bug to Christi at the front desk who said they had recently treated for them & advised me to wash all my belongings in hot water as soon as I returned home to minimize the chances of bringing them back home with me (& talked about the inevitability of bed bugs ?). I then completely unpacked all my belongings to make sure I wasn't visibly carrying any extra friends with me to a new room.
Unfortunately, examining the new space, it was quite evident the room was not held to the same standard of cleanliness as the former. There were bugs roaming in the shower, food crumbs in the chaise lounge, a spider web in the corner, visibly apparent tan and red stains on the inside of the duvet and pillow, etc.
Upon returning to the front desk and requesting to be refunded for the stay so I could go elsewhere, Christi indicated there was difficulty in doing so as she'd have to speak to her manager and I booked through a third party so they could only refund the third party. She then tried to switch me to a different room that by her own admission had inexplicable defect.
To make quite a long story short, after hours of combing through hotel sheets, changing rooms, completely unpacking and cleaning out my luggage, and going back and forth with customer service for the third party and hotel throughout the night and morning hours, the hotel would not issue a full refund as I had apparently already recieved the benefit of the first night stay and "alerted them too late" about the bed bugs for them to refund it. In lieu of a refund, they offered 5000 rewards points, an amount that would require me to spend $90 if I ever wanted to book another night's stay, which cost 20000 points.
I asked how I enjoyed the benefit of a stay when I was bitten by bed bugs and pointed out the impossibility of alerting before my first night was over, because that's when I was bitten and bed bug bites can take up to 14 days to appear. I had no way of knowing until later in the day when they all began to surface.
Nonetheless, Christi maintained that she couldn't offer anything further as that's all she was authorized to do (seemingly, there was not a manager on site and Christi had been communicating with the manager on her cell phone).
She said if I wanted to recieve anything further, I would have to wait until Monday (it was Friday night/Sat morning) to speak to the assistant manager Jessyca Shaw who would then be present. Given that I had already been there for hours and it was 3 A.M. and I still had a bunch of washing ahead of me, I resolved myself to dealing with it another day.
Unfortunately, that was over a week ago and I haven't been able to get in touch with Ms. Shaw since. I have contacted the hotel many times and have left multiple messages on her voicemail.
Overall, absent bed bugs, I would've been fine to stay in the first room. However, that's a major and important stipulation that would deter my return. Also, in general, Christi was quite kind and understanding. However, be aware that if you have issues, it may be challenging to get them resolved or to have a sufficient monetary remedy. That

Check in was easy and the room was clean and updated with good amenities. There's a gym on site and an outdoor pool area. The business area seems updated and there's a full breakfast.
There is a lot of construction on other hotels in the area, but none of that disturbed us. It is on the side of Mobile opposite of the attractions and Downtown so it was about a 15 minute drive to get to everything we were doing, but that was not that bad.

Fairly typical IHG. Rooms are nicely furnished and decently priced. Fitness room and outdoor pool. Continental breakfast. May not wow you but it definitely has a home feel. Quiet too which is a big plus.
Edit: I took one last picture at breakfast. The pancake machine... Read it and see if you get the humor...I thought it was hilarious... Pancake in a minute FLAT???

There is no microwave in the rooms. Need to ho so far if you need to warm up things. Bath tubs are disgusting.

0 stars if possible. I can’t believe this is listed under the IHG brand. The rooms were gross and not cleaned in weeks. Dust everywhere, mildew smell in the rooms, and the bathroom was not fit for use by paying customers. The pool was next to the interstate so the noise is crazy. Plus this property is under renovation, which should be disclosed when you reserve a room since no one wants to stay in a construction zone. Will never be back!

It was close to where I wanted to be, and they are obviously upgrading, but I got a room with clapped out furniture and a rusted lamp. To put this in perspective, I am a shiny member, so yeah, YMMV.

Stayed here over the past few years as a contractor. Breakfast at 530 and location are very convenient. However, the most rude guest. Just inconsiderate. Loud af Fri-Mon, belly flopping in pool and screaming children until 12 am and crab leg dinners leftover in elevator. Stay at the fairfield/towneplace/hampton if you appreciate sleep.

Only taking the time to review this to warn others that the pictures and positive reviews are VERY deceiving. The rooms are in terrible condition. The carpet was *filthy*, corner chair heavily stained, the tub was gross and had pieces chipping off, stains on doors, worn down furniture, the air conditioner rattled, and just overall weird smell. There was a pile of falling ceiling tile chunks next to the elevator. We should have turned around and left when we saw that, but we were desperate for a nights rest after a day of traveling.

Lovely hotel, very convenient location and nice staff. I'm only giving four stars for how the toilet had to be flushed 3-4 times for everything to go - but I hear they are about to start renovating. Hopefully the choice of toilets will be better for the renovation... other than that, we loved our stay here. The breakfast had a great selection as well.
