The entire staff is so friendly and warm! When my dogs both got really sick really fast from their boarding mates while we were out of town, MPH fit us in immediately to get them the meds they needed. Everyone is professional and yet very easy to chat with. Care is affordable, and the care we’ve received has been outstanding!

Very pleased with the staff and the doctor. They were great with Gracie and never seemed rushed. They explained everything that was going on and very informative. Looking forward to Dr Dougia being our vet.

We switched to Meridianville Pet Hospital from a larger clinic in Huntsville, which had changed ownership and where we felt the care for our cats, Jake and Jake, had become impersonal and uncaring. When we go to MPH, the difference is immediately obvious-from the greeting and welcome by staff, and the examination and treatment by Dr. Dougia. They are not rushed, take time to hear our concerns, explain everything being done, and gently handle Jack and Jake, who are both rescue cats and very oppositional to being handled by strangers. We are comfortable there, and know that our babies are getting thorough, sensitive care at MPH….

I have mixed feelings about this place, as it is my standard practice to ask upfront about charges, recommendations, etc. before first visiting a new place. When I first called about getting my pup neutered I was told that I would need to bring him in to establish care. Fine, no problem and I knew that would be the case. I mentioned that he was up to date on his vaccinations (as far as I was aware!) and needed neutered, but no one asked me if he had been given the Bordatella vaccine, NOR was I told that it would be necessary for him to have it before the surgery. I specifically inquired about payment and cost and what was included in that price and what was expected beforehand. I show up for his first visit and was told by the vet that my pup would need a Bordatella vaccine prior to the surgery. I commented that I had asked about such and I got the impression that the vet was purposely NOT responding to my comment. I also mentioned that my breeder was at a conference out of state and that I would need to double-check with both her and my previous vet because I didn't want him to be given something twice and I couldn't recall him having that vaccine. I also stated that I did not want to be charged an office visit fee if I had to return because I wasn't not apprised of the need for this when I had specifically asked for info during my initial phone call! I was told that there would only be the charge for the vaccine itself (and they referred to this as the vet tech fee, which I found odd). Fast forward to me finding out that my pup had not had this, and since I wanted him to be fully protected the day of the surgery, I call back to schedule the vaccine and to pay my surgery deposit and the 'vet tech fee'. My son took my pup and called me while they were administering the vaccine to tell me that they were going to charge him $45!!! I told my son not to pay it and that someone was wrong, because I had already paid the amount quoted to me previously. Long story short, my 25 year old didn't feel like arguing with them, so he paid it (and subsequently got told by me to call his bank and reverse the charge! ). Whenever I got a chance to call them to discuss this, I was told that I would have to wait until Monday to speak to the office manager. Monday I finally speak to the office manager and although it did sort of feel like at first that I kept having to repeat myself and stress my frustration over the situation, she finally understood that I did NOT want to pay because I had specifically ASKED for this information (regardless that I was under the assumption that my pup had been given ALL the vaccines he required) and she agreed that the people working the front desk needed to do a better job of fielding questions and providing information and she offered to refund the amount. My son said his bank refunded it and I truly appreciate the professionalism of the office manager but this experience has made me wary of dealing with a clinic like this, not to mention that I do not appreciate it ever when any medical professional tries to feign ignorance about what goes on behind the scenes on the business end. I highly doubt this is indeed the case, especially since it is a private vet clinic and who owns a business and ignores that side of things???? Maybe later I will provide an update but I am still waiting to see how future visits play out.

I started using them when I got my new puppy. They have been great from day one. They handle our pets with absolute care and even the lady's that answer the phone are just as sweet as ever. Thank you guys for all that you do!!!!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Dougia and the staff at Meridianville Pet Hospital. This was my first visit and they went above and beyond for my dog. He is not the easiest patient and to see the care and understanding he received Meridianville Pet Hospital will be our veterinarian going forward.
