We went here yesterday looking for new Birkenstocks and were readily helped by one of the employees. I didn’t catch his name but he had a twin so that should narrow it down! Unfortunately they didn’t have the size we needed, but he requested the Tuscaloosa store transfer the size in to our local store. He was super helpful checking for different styles and sizes for us. He said they would give us a call when they had them in store! I would definitely recommend this store.

Waited 10 min for someone to acknowledge me by the shoes section even though there was a sales associate sitting down on the floor by the shoes. Never once acknowledged me. Went to the desk to ask for help because I was ready to buy some shoes they said someone should be back there. Waited another 5 minutes and still no one. Needless to say, I left. I felt so disappointed with the staff and lack of help or pure courtesy. Especially the girl sitting down by the shoe section that made eye contact with me and disappeared after hearing I needed help.

As it turns out, they don’t sell real gear anymore. Went in there looking for something I could filter hard water with for traveling to foreign countries and left empty handed. Go downstairs at the original homewood Alabama outdoors and you should find something if you actually need gear for a real trip

The service was terrible & the 2 guys working in the shoes area were extremely rude. The 2 guys/workers acted as if it was a problem to get the shoes my husband and I were interested in trying on. One guy made the comment that “this is $30 more than that one,” instead of telling me about the shoe I was interested in trying on. That rubbed my husband and I the wrong way because at no point did we ask about prices. We just asked to try on the “on cloud” shoe styles that caught our eye They finally brought a pair of shoes for my husband and a pair for me but stayed in the back for the longest before checking to see if we had another request to try on another pair of shoes. The worker that did not get the shoes just stood back and stared at us. Then they went back in the back and stayed until another couple came in that didn’t look like us and they were eager to help them. It’s sad because my husband and I like the store and this was the first time we received this type of treatment.
