“This place has a generally good stock, me and a few friends normally come here to get some snacks or something. Line hasn’t been very big, and the Cashiers are normally nice.”

“I shop there daily and it's always clean. They are needing workers that's why it's not to speedy but the cashier was doing her best training when she's was in training herself. She never got rude and apologized for any inconvience. She held her composer and got us all out of there as quick as she could. She is always busy doing something on the floor and quick to help her cowoker on top of doing the first shifts job. Poor woman never gets a lunch break without having to cone help check customers out. That woman deserves recognition. Way to go Dollar General you finally hired someone that actually works. I think her name was Jessica . Maybe she'll see this and know that some people are actually patient and recognize what hard job she has and it's appreciated. As far as customers go they need to keep their trash in there car the staff shouldn't have to pick up behind grown adults . You've been seen dumping your trash out for them to pick up. Makes me angry to see bad reviews on here saying its nasty or there's a long line. Corporate needs to hire help so its not put on just one or two people. It didn't get to be that way over night and it ain't going to change overnight. Instead of complaining suggest a solution.”

“Good selection when you are in a rush and don't want to go to a larger store. They also have some good generic offerings with their Clover Valley brand. Prices for the name brand stuff is normal. No upcharge for the convenience. I am only knocking a star due to organization. It can be tricky to find something if you haven't been there plenty of times in the past.”

“On New Year’s Eve, I needed to pick up a prescription and milk, but I didn't feel like walking to the back of the big store. So, after I drove up for the prescription, I drove to Dollar General on Cottage Hill in the shopping center at University / Demetropolis, where they have the Milk only 30 feet inside the front door!
So, around 7 O’Clock, I stepped inside. I had to look around to ensure I was in the right place; this Dollar General was different from others I saw over the last week in three states. It didn’t look like it did 7-8 months prior. Everything about this store was different; if I had to guess, I’d have said it was a model store, and Wow!
The aisles were wide and uncluttered. The store was clean, and products on the shelves faced neatly to the front. I couldn't reach the milk I wanted, so I went to look around the store, thinking I could find something to help me get it. I saw three tall cage carts lined neatly out of the way in the center of the store! Never in my life have I seen such precision and purpose in the organization in stocking and considering the customer while doing so in a Dollar General. I had to look further. The top stock was all excess products that didn't fit on the shelf. The clearance was neat, and new Valentine's Day products were out already. I walked the perimeter and glanced down the aisles, but I didn't see anything on the floor or out of place: no huge pallets of products or cases of soft drinks blocking the front door either.
I know they didn't want me climbing onto the cooler door frame to reach for it, but I found nothing useful to help me, so I went 30’ from the refrigerated Milk section to the front checkout to wait my turn to ask for help getting lactose-free milk off the top shelf. The cashier and manager were both so friendly, so why didn't I ask sooner? They were happy I didn't try to get the milk alone; they told me one lady tried recently, and the milk fell to the floor and burst. (I dodged that; Thank goodness!)
I knew I would write a review on this one-of-a-kind Dollar General, so I sat in my car after leaving the store while I talked on the phone. I wanted to see if the store was so clean and organized because of slow traffic or if it was that good. On average, on New Year's Eve, I saw steady customers going in and out of the store, 6-8 cars at a time, and 2-3 people in each vehicle for an hour. It is that good.

“Store is always clean. I lost my wallet had no idea what happened to it...and the honesty of the manager and or worker. I got my wallet back...I am so so thankful to you all ....you just do not know. I have a very sick husband at home and was in such a hurry to get back to him, when this happened. This on top of his sickness had me a basket case...I called and she said "Yes Maam I have it..and it is put away in a lock box." I picked it up and was so so happy. You guys are the best.”

“This is a great Dollar General. The cashiers and manager are always kind and helpful. The store is neat and clean. However, the outside lighting sucks. The Dollar General sign is out and has been out for sometime now. The big sign offers some lighting usually. Now at night the lighting is barely any AND there is no lighting from a street light or any lighting from across the street leaving the parking lot area dark and unsecure for not only the customers but the employees of Dollar General. Unless the lighting is fixed and we customers feel secure.. we will go some where else at night. Please get this lighting fixed.”
