Had a reservation but when I went to the counter to get my car - they said they didn’t have any cars available. There was a waitlist with multiple people ahead of me and they couldn’t tell me when they might have a car. I asked them to cancel the reservation and took an Uber. I called into customer service later and they didn’t have any record of the cancellation. They canceled it for me - will never rent from Thrifty.

Would not accept a major credit card. No appeal, just handed it back to me and said they did not accept the card. Another car rental place accepted it without question.

Won't answer the phone, no one there to collect the car and can't get a receipt for expense reports. Pick someone else.

Charged $148.48 on a $97 rental. Returned on full but charged for fuel. Won't answer the phone, called corporate they get no answer either but say they cant fix it as its a franchise even though they fall under corporate licensing. Website says desk closes at 12:30am. The customer support agent I spoke with on the day of travel told me this location closes at 12:30am. However, when we showed up at 11:45pm the desk was already closed, even though we had a reservation and they knew our flight information. We had to pay for a ride both that night and in the morning to return for a car (that we got from a different company!). When I emailed Thrifty about this issue and asked how they would make it better, they responded with: “I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that you had.. Our aim is to provide customers with a service experience which not only meets, but exceeds their expectations. I regret that this was not your experience and I assure you that your comments have been taken on board.I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for contacting us and we lookforward to serving you in the future.”I won’t be using Thrifty or Hertz in the future.

This place is horrible! I showed up today to get my car. Because I didn't have a copy of my insurance policy or the app with it on it; they would not give me the car. My husband (who was boarding a plane at the time) scrambled to forward me our insurance info - all of it from his app. That was not good enough; the clerk made me stand there and email it to them. I had to get out of line while everyone else breezed through. I have never had to provide such detailed proof of auto insurance for a rental. My spouse rents cars on a regular basis and has never been asked for this info. I even gave them a credit card to hold for potential damages. This was embarrassing and humiliating! I will never use them again and I will continue to give bad reviews where I can and by word of mouth.

First, they gave me a car with faulty TPMS - which they told me about - I should have declined and made them give me a different car. Then I returned the car with a full tank of gas, got a receipt, and the next day, got an email with an 'updated receipt' charging me $50 for gas. The phone number on the receipt is a recording that tells you to send an email and then hangs up, so no real way to get to a human for help. Super sketchy business - I will not rent from them (or Hertz - same company!) in Huntsville again.

If I could give no stars I would. I have been trying to get a receipt for the past 11 days. Not able to get in contact directly to location. When I call the 800 number, they tell me they themselves have not been able to reach out to the location. Since they are a third party, Dollar is saying that it’s not really on them. They had no problem charging the credit card, but can’t get me a receipt. Really disappointed and frustrated!

the people here are rude. the policy i read online said we could pay with a debit card but we showed up (booked a week in advance) and were denied. these people don’t stick to policy or care about their customers. also they don’t make their requirements clear before OR after you book a rental. do not use these people!!! use enterprise

I’m not one to post reviews very often but they have the worst customer service out of any car rental place I’ve encountered. Picking up the car, they were extremely rude. I called to extend and the first lady said yes but that I needed to make a payment over the phone. No problem but I was driving and couldn’t so I said I’d call back. Called back and spoke to someone else who refused to help and was nasty on the phone and I’m in no place to be able to return the car considering the first lady said I could extend it. So now I’m going to charged a ton for a late return due to her unwillingness to help and a clear lack of communication on their end.Customer service is everything in these businesses and when its poor, you lose business. Never again.

2 employees working at the counter for 3 companies combined - hertz, dollar, thrifty. Fast pickup booths are closed. There were seven people in front of me and mine and It took over a half hour to get to the counter, plus another 10 minutes to get the keys after that.

This business in unethical! Customer service stinks. And the company is "Not military or senior friendly". Moreover, "Usury charges", so if you want to save costs on rental vehicles, this is not the company you would want to use. The vehicle I rented was a day less than a week and was to have costed me $369.00, which is the cost for a whole week. I returned the vehicle on the day of contract agreement and was charged an extra day fee. The company charged more than what was advertised, and in addition to that, without informing me, attempted a pre-hold charge of over $800.00. From now on, I will continue to use Enterprise, or Alamo, which are not only military friendly, but senior friendly as well. Steer away from Thrifty Car Rental in any part of the United States! I wish that I could be able to rate them a "0"! However, unfortunately, that option is not available to customers!

Don’t bother with this company. EVER. I had to travel for a medical appointment and we booked a reservation for a car. When we arrived at the airport, we were informed that they overbooked and that this was normal. They told us it was a three hour minimum, and a 24 hour maximum hour wait for our car. We had no transportation to the hospital and missed the appointment—that we flew hundreds of miles to get to. They refused to issue a refund and I was told that I should just “deal with it,” by a rude customer service rep. Thrifty cost us close to a thousand dollars with their “mistake.” I’ve traveled extensively and have never experienced such a pathetic, rude, costly, and stupid mistake with any other company. Please do not make the same mistake I did—use any other company.
