Workers are rude, very authoritarian. At times show little or no compassion to someone in need ( she was obviously handicap and turn away when there was obviously room for her to stay. Put her on the street . Didnt even show one bit of sympathy )

My complaint is not geared toward the Salvation Army but the security company it employs to run its shelters. I'm not alone in my experience with them. It's hit and miss when you call to reserve a bed at the Huntsville facility. I thought emergency shelters were for emergencies yet they expect you to plan tour emergency and call ahead and if you don't you are turned away regardless if there was no answer or if they have empty beds or not. The current guards have me waiting outside knowing I'm scheduled to have major surgery in the morning telling me that I did not register yet I spoke with the director here earlier this afternoon and register. Things like this happen often here they even turned a blind man away with spare beds. I'm currently gathering eye witness accounts of other episodes and sworn affidavits to present to the concerned party. I've talked with at least a dozen such people and hope to get more. I feel that a charitable organization as yourselves should be more understanding to the often I'll and mentally I'll. I look forward to speaking with someone from your organization concerning these matters. Yours Truly Kenneth Hale

I have never seen such rude ill-mannered people working for a giving charity. The two don't go together and it's across the board. it's not just one employee. But it was all women that i encountered. I didn't run across any of the men except that they did speak to me and it wasn't rude when they did so. Employees need to be reminded that they work for a GIVING LOVING charity and attitude from the office to the store should not be tolerated. it was a disheartening experience. shame on them. Shame on you Salvation Army

Great Thrift store.. prices very reasonable. They are also MY very best charity. I am always donating great used items to them. Also unlike some other well known thrift stores, 100% of the profits here goes to help only people in need!
