“SWMBO and I stopped by B&N to browse after a big lunch. I had not visited this store in a while. The environment was clean and pleasant. The aisles were wide, the shelves well tended. Someone who arranged the books was not too well versed in separating Fantasy from Science Fiction so I moved on to the technical books. SWMBO and I left empty-handed without making an impulse buy. Our lunch was now comfortably settled.”

“I just went to Books-A-Million with my aunt with the intention of getting some books that would keep the attention of my teenager. We received the help of Jason, Raven, Taylor, and one other lady. I'm sorry I didn't catch the last lady's name. They were all 4 amazing, but Raven and Taylor were superstars. They went above and beyond and helped us find some phenomenal books to keep the attention of my boy. We will be back soon. The variety of items other than just books is incredible. My aunt had to personally walk me away from the stand housing the Loungefly bags. ? I was even able to sign up for a teacher membership. I will be back soon. This is one of my favorite new stores. Thank you for making this a good experience. ❤️❤️”

“The staff were SO helpful finding a niche manga series for my daughter. The guy was super kind and patient with my excited birthday girl and even gave her a few manga series to try later. This will be *our* B&N we stop at!”

“I had a good experience at Calhoun back when. I attended Calhoun when they had satellite campuses all over the place. The main campus was (and I guess still is) in Decatur, and yes you had to attend a lot of classes there; however, they also had satellite classrooms on Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville High School and in "THE Mall" - yes where Barnes and Noble is now, only further down the mall - you had to hang a left at the western themed bar and it was on the east side of The Mall where Picadilly used to be. We always joked that if you leaned in closely enough to the cinder walls you could still hear the servers saying "Serve you, Serve you please?!?!?!" :D Because high school was such a breeze for me and really did not prepare me for college, I started UAH with a whopping 1.0 and yes, academic probation my first semester. I had no idea you could drop a class and really did *not* think the professors meant what they said when they assigned voluminous amounts of reading/coursework with only a day or so to accomplish it, and I paid for it with terrible grades my first semester. Enter Calhoun! Calhoun to the rescue! I took classes all over north Alabama or at least it felt like it with part time college professors and full time ones, too. Anyway, it was still hard work; however the staff were friendlier than UAH, more accommodating to those of us who worked, and had more of a smaller, diverse group of students. I still learned and I learned a LOT at Calhoun! I managed to pull my grades up to graduate with two associates at cum laude and transfer back to UAH to do the same with 1 BA cum laude. The tip for anyone planning to do a similar approach to getting a degree is to stay in touch with UAH and ensure each class and associated credit *will* transfer from Calhoun to UAH. To me, and I'm sure to any college student, these hours are pretty much worth gold and you don't want to lose them! Also, don't be afraid to take any issues where a credit is denied to the Dean (or higher if necessary) to argue your case. Pay attention to the handbooks (if that's a thing anymore) and ensure the classes align in terms of course content. Oh, and another good thing about Calhoun is you don't rack up 1000s of parking tickets by attending there.”

“Excellent student service. They work hard to get students in school. They were instituting a new tech system. There were some glitches but overall it made things easier and safer during the pandemic. I just appreciated the consistent support and southern hospitality.”

“Going back to my college book store brought back so many memories. I was excited to find a variety of sweatshirts and t-shirts. They even had options for moms and dads. Lots of hat options too. I represent Oakwood University to the fullest and I found a cool t-shirt that I liked. I will definitely be back to get a sweatshirt and hat. If you are looking for pens, pencils, books, and even a snack, stop by and check it the OU bookstore today!”

“They bought all my instructor copies and resold them online, since I wasn’t legally allowed to sell them online. They told me other companies are too lazy to check and probably won’t notice. Thanks!”
