Loading up on pre-event supplies at aWalmart is always a good thing. Even grabbing snacks for a 24 hour running event is fun too. Or so it would seem so.My friend and I wandered here to this, Walmart in Hoover, Alabama for some pre-race items that may have been not needed or use after the fact. it was a Friday afternoon and October 2023. For this visit at this Walmart we spent about 45 minutes separately so we could find what we were looking for. I ended up having to walk around the aisles with a shopping cart, which is seldom and rare. Walmart is trying to be your quintessential hub for every day essentials. Much like Amazon but they normally ship stuff in and you can really get your hands on it until days later. But Walmart is different since you can get stuff right off the shelf on demand. With that said, my friend, and I loaded up on snacks and anything that could sustain us during a 24 hour running event. From Water to sports drinks to candy and cookies, we loaded up on what we wanted to have during a grand event. While shopping, it felt like it was kind of fun, to be honest. But, in all honesty, it was essential for us to have this Walmart stop because we needed it for our own well-being. For the most part, though, our time spent here at Walmart was very good and casual. They do have practically everything you would possibly want on a daily basis. it's quite outstanding that they do carry almost practically everything and it is amazing to have Walmart in our communities. Walmart is a place where you can get reason prices and they can be cheaper than your neighborhood shopping centers Costco may be cheaper, bulk sales, but Walmart can be as advantageous for saving money. The overall experience here at this particular Walmart location was as good as it can be. I quickly found what I was looking for and everything was at its normal location. There was actually plenty of Walmart sales associates here that could have helped me with what I was looking for, but I had time to shop, so I found what I needed needed with a bit of searching and look that I would find it sooner rather than later. This Walmart is about the same size as any superstore. It basically has whatever you need and they pride themselves on. Everything seem to be in order and definitely had a nice experience here in Hoover, Alabama. It's a Walmart of course that has basically everything. During my experience here at this Hoover location, I personally ended up paying for a lot of stuff I didn't really need since the event already provided majority of the stuff. Ended up having to consume it afterwards during my down time after the event and some of it was packed into my luggage for the flights home. I liked the way Walmart was organized but it can be a zoo if you don't know where you are going or where a certain product you are looking for. A lot of times, Walmart is basically a self service, as with many other grocery and department stores around the country and possibly the world. You'd ask for help when you do. The help I did receive from a young Walmart sales associate that day was not helpful but I knew I should have remembered to pack it in my luggage before coming to the Greater Birmingham area. This Walmart is located in Hoover, Alabama. Just outside the city center of Birmingham. Maybe 15-20 minutes driving. The physical address is 2780 John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. They have a bunch of services just outside their cashier section like Eye wear and sometimes Subway. I don't think this one has a Subway, although I can be wrong. I didn't see much while I was shopping initially. They do have a large customer parking lot for just about anyone and everyone who comes to this particular Walmart location. Not sure if the metro Birmingham public transportation system stretches out to Hoover, but if it can be done, you can get here from Birmingham out to Hoover to get yourself here to Walmart and shop on. If no private vehicle or public transportation are available, there'

Auto Care: Called at 1:53 to verify that they had my tire in stock. All I needed was one tire, balance, and rotation. I was informed that it would take roughly 1.5 hours. When I arrived at 3:00, I dropped my car off and was told again that the tire I wanted for $125 had 4 in stock. I shopped and came back at 4:30 to check the status. I noticed they did not even have it pulled in yet. Around 5:00, I was informed that they couldn't find my keys and were asking me what my ticket number was (I was not given one). Around 5:30, they told me the lady that checked me in left them in the shop. At this point, I knew I should've left but I already spent 2.5 hours of my time and was told this should only take 30 mins. Due to losing my keys, another car got pushed in front of mine. Once my car was taken back around 6:00, I was informed that they did not have my tire I was promised for $125 and that the only tire they had was for $198. Turns out, the lady that checked me in did not actually check that the tires were in stock like protocol says. After now 3.5 hours, and me being exhausted and annoyed with the one hiccup of misplacing my keys, I was told they could get a manager to check for the tire on the truck (which they did not have on either). I come to Walmart for the affordability of the tire. I could've paid $200+ getting it completed at another auto store within 30 minutes, but due to being on a budget, opted for the quote I was given when I called and then re-confirmed once I arrived of $160 after everything. With the now $198 tire I was having to purchase, it put my quote over $250. Not only was I there for triple the time estimated, but losing my keys for 30+ minutes, and being told a quote at check in and then 3.5-4 hours after waiting being told they did not have it was the cherry on top. The manager offered me a $35 gift card (yes I received a better tire, but the purpose of this trip was to stay on the budget of the quote provided). I walked away after 8:00 p.m. (which was over five hours of waiting) with still spending over $200 even with the gift card. Horrible service due to the lack of responsibility given during the check in process. I appreciated those who were working, since the person who caused these initial issues was off the clock, but overall all of this should've been avoided. I truly don't think the $35 compensation was enough for all the hours, patience, and money I lost.

Damaged my car, I had to fix it with money out of my pocket, $500+. They said they would turn it into claims and they would call me. They never did. Lesson learned. I'll never go back to a Walmart to have tires put on.

Terrible drive up service. Lots of items out of stock with no communication. The when you get there it took over 50 minutes to come to my car for delivery to my car. Next day I had an Oder at target. When i drove up I received my Oder in about 3-4 minutes. Excellent service it makes Walmart service a joke.

If your in the trans community I don't advise trying to do anything with your I.d. KJ working customer service was very disrespectful & kept wanting to refuse my I.D, to the point I had to announce I'm trans and even then wanted to question me and grab others. This is very disrespectful and wrong! Your an equal opportunity business yet harass people of the lgtbq. He needs to be informed on respect!

HELL YEAH! This is the best Walmart around. People kept telling us over and over again to go o the Walmart in Hoover. We brushed them off for a while, but when we were in the area today we decided, why not? Came in here; both our jaws just about dropped. Now this is a Superstore if I have ever seen one. It is so organized. Each section is easy to move around in. The store even has several smaller businesses inside of it which I am sure help to drive more people in. There's a charley's cheese stakes, a popsicle spot among others too. I will for sure be coming back to this Walmart.

Typical Walmart. Messy, not many workers and just a few registers open with lines on the Saturday before Christmas. The few employees I did see weren't friendly but again, welcome to any Walmart store. The brand has really declined over the years.

Today I encountered an employee of the Hoover, AL who insinuated that if was a liar, cheat, and he didn't need to consult with store management about an item I bought at 1140am and returned by 1240pm, today, May 22nd. 2021. His name is KJ and claims to be the Manger of Customer Service for Store 1229. What happened today? I went to Walmart to buy a new Cuisinart coffee maker similar to the previous one we purchased at this same store in 2018. I found the $59 coffee maker on a shelf with several others and selected a box, picked up a few other items and paid. I went home and unloaded the merchandise and opened the coffee maker box. Even before we saw all of it out of the box my wife said, this looks used. I pulled the coffee maker completely out of the box, for a better look, and agreed the sides were dirty and upon opening the water lid, looked at the basket and it's holder which were not wrapped and quickly saw that the basket and it's holder had remnants of coffee and it smelled like that too. I immediately repacked the coffee maker and returned to the store. When I got to the Customer Service agent, I explained the above and gave her the receipt with an intent to get the new coffee maker I thought I had bought just an hour before. This is when I met KJ. He proceeded to speak in a muffled tone with the agent and I explained again what had happened. I asked what he was thinking since the only way I could know what was in the nice would have been to open it which isn't what Walmart expects of customers and also not what we think we need to do before buying a product. I told him, clearly someone bought the new one and stuffed an old one in the box to get a full refund and free coffee maker. My intent was to get a new one and shouldn't you be able to see who returned this since the item clearly had been they their return process. Of course, KJ was not having any of this and told me to leave the store for the first time. He immediately told me he would not accept the return. When I asked him why he said that it was his decision. I asked to speak with the store maker for the day and KJ told me that he didn't need a manger for this it was his department. Of course I insisted and told him I was t leaving until the manager of the store spoke with me. KH said that if I wanted to speak with a manager I should come back tomorrow. Again, I refused to leave and insisted he get the manager. At this time another customer who had been told to return today for a refund, who had hear my conversation with KJ, said that it seems reasonable that I didn't open the box before taking it home and would Walmart want their customers opening boxes before the buy to check the contents. KJ told that customer to stay out of it and then asked him why he was there, refusing to speak with me. The other customer was treated as badly as me and was told to go to pickup for the refund for items he bought the night before. When he told KJ that the store manager the prior night said to ask for Tarsha when he came in today, I knew KJ had lied about no one being above him and in the store. Another employee showed up who appeared to be a more senior member of the store management. He name tag was reversed so I can't name her. When I again explained what happened, she asked KJ to go and get a new on off the shelf to compare. It took Kenny more than 10 minutes to walk about 200 ft and return with a new machine in the box. When they opened it they knew, like it did that what I had told them had to be true since the machine shape and dimensions were markedly different. The more senior female employee said she would approve the exchange at which time I said, no, after this treatment I want a refund. I was given a refund slip and I will wait to see if it was reversed or cancelled after I left. There was no apology from KJ or the other female employees, just the same mechanical service voice saying, "Next Customer". I'm going to call the store tomorrow and relate this to the store manager while it is t possible to

Terrible customer service. I am officially done spending my money with Walmart . I go to a walmart employee and ask "ma'am I have a deep freezer I am trying to get can you have someone help me bring it to the front." She replies "yes let me call someone for you" so I wait and an hour later no one shows. The employee went back to her area like nothing was ever said to her. So while I am pushing the freezer through the store to get to the front like it a shopping cart I saw the employees are laughing as if it's a joke. I go back to the out doors area to get fishing license. I was really shocked that it was someone there. I said ma'am I just need a fishing license can you help me? She says sir I am sorry I don't work in this area. I said ok can you get someone to help me then please ? She said sure I'll call someone for you. A hour later no one shows. Why even have a outdoors area if no employee want to do it. For the love of God Stop telling people you do fishing and hunting license. Just do away with the out door area period. And where's the customer service ????? I'm sooo done with Walmart !!! I spend too much money here to not get help when asked.

First of all ~ it's Wal-Mart. So there's a certain level of "what did you expect?" In the years we had children at home I bought groceries here to try to optimize our grocery budget. Now that they're grown I go out of habit and convenience. Yes they have online ordering and that process is efficient. I'm thankful for that. BUT the in-store experience (again, Wal-Mart) has plummeted. On two recent trips, bare shelves (okay, COVID ~ so expected shortages of cleaning supplies and toilet paper ~ but what's up with the Pop-Tarts? Diet Coke? Hazelnut Coffee?) and open self check-out but ONLY ONE cashier? Line of patrons that reaches back to clothing, and no effort to open another register (both recent visits!) I made new friends in the line from our six-foot COVID distance, but sheesh! It might be fun to bond on some other tragedy besides being stuck in the Wal-Mart line! Wal-Mart doesn't need my business, I know. That's a good thing ~ because after years ~ I'm out. I'll find those Pop-Tarts down the road.

I found the employees to be friendly and helpful. The only thing is that there were no wipes to wipe down the carts (during COVID-19). When I said something to the door person they said yes you're right there isn't anymore wipes. Then I stood in line at customer service because I had a return, I mentioned it to them and she said she would get on it. An hour later I walked out of Walmart and they were still out of wipes. So bring your own disinfectants if you shop here.

Once again I made the mistake of stopping at Walmart on Highway 150 cuz I was near there and motor oil. As usual the staff is rude and racist. I was in self-checkout I needed to pay cash so I asked the associate what was going on and all she did was pointed and said "you did to go over there" "over there" had only two cashiers working I don't know how the store stays open honestly. Do they teach me how to be rude orientation class?

This Walmart is alright. It's not my go to Walmart since I don't live in the Hoover are anymore so when I come here I'm a little disoriented. Their makeup department is in the middle of the store. Eerie....Just kidding. I came here last week and was able to find just about everything I needed and more. Their produce department wasn't exactly the freshest. Their snack department had at least one mislabel in prices that I noticed when I was checking out. Annoying yes, but not too big of a deal. So it's not my favorite Walmart, but for people who live in Hoover, you have a Walmart supercenter. Many cities don't.

Came here to purchase new tires for my car. Prices are very reasonable. Only thing is they don't do alignments, so I had to go to another car center to have they done. I would highly recommend this location for tires. The wait time isn't long at all either.

We all know and understand Walmart. We might not like all of their policies, but most of us at some point or another end up in one. Customer service here can be extremely inconsistent. It can go from very good to very, very bad. I would attribute this to poor management and training and that the good customer experience would be coming from people who take it upon themselves to offer good customer service and not from any corporate training. Would I recommend here? Again, it's Walmart and it was convenient to my hotel to get some water for the night. If you find yourself in a similar situation, it works.
