I would give 0 stars if it would allow me to do so..Anyone needing for a automotive shop, do everything at all cost AVOID Vulcan Tire and Automotive in Pell City Alabama.I had been taking my jeep to them since Jan. 22nd 2024. First it was the oil cooler, they replaced it. Great, no problem. Picked it up on a Friday. Drove it home and parked it until that Sunday. When I drove it again it was making a weird crunching sound, take it back and its the front driveshaft. They replace it with a Rough Country shaft. Great, I pick it up and it has a vibration and a humming sound. I call them to let them know and they tell me its a trait of the new driveshaft. I am not buying this story. I reach out to RC and they explain that their statement is incorrect. They stated that their driveshaft is actually used to stop the driveline vibrations. I speak with multiple people with the same driveshaft and they all agree, it stopped their driveline vibrations. So I take it to a new shop and they look at it, they find that the driveshaft was not greased properly. I call the every so lovely Ken from the Pell City store, and he tells me that my problem is I have too many hands involved. So I explain to him, that yes I sought a second opinion, because the vibration is so bad it has my steering wheel vibrating. So they said bring it back and we will look at it and see about replacing the driveshaft they had just installed. (Maybe it was back driveshaft or unbalanced). Okay so they "replace" it or so they say. I pick it back up and it is still vibrating, if not even worse now. I say something and ask them to please check wheel bearings, suspension, everything they could. They claim they did and that the vehicle is "safe". Ken basically belittles me and tells me that I will have to just deal with it or spend more money on an OEM driveshaft. So trusting these "mechanics" I just say I will deal with the vibration from the driveshaft. I continue to drive it and it gets worse and worse. Well this Friday (3/1/2024) the vibration is ungodly and my steering wheel is shaking worse than ever and there is so much play in the steering wheel. I am driving it home and I stopped to get gas, I notice the driver tire is straight and the passenger side is kicked out. So I called someone to follow me home safely.. As I am driving home the vibration is so extreme, I crossed a bump in the road and the SOB started death wobble on me.The next morning I take it to a new shop and it turns out it is both the inner tie rod ends, both outer tie rod ends, pitman arm, drag link, and steering stabilizer shock. So this vibration I had been reporting to Vulcan to locate and fix, that they kept telling me was "a trait of the RC driveshaft" turns out to be my entire front end. But I guess because I am a "woman" the whole "trait of the RC driveshaft" was easy to pass off on me.So fast-forward to today, I call the ever so lovely Ken at Pell City to explain what is going on and he wants to raise his voice, telling me I never complained of "death wobble" No dumba$$ you're right I didn't because it had not reached that point yet, but with your shops failure to take the time to truly investigate the issue at hand, instead of telling me it was just part of the driveshaft, it got worse and reached that point.I trusted the shop and their word. I ended up driving to Orlando and back with my jeep's front end worn out, because Ken and his mechanics stated "it was safe and that it was part of the driveshaft"This placed my children and myself in danger as well as anyone else on the road near me, had the front end gave out, it could have been deadly. Good Job Vulcan.Class-A winners there.Lesson learned. Stay away from Vulcan at all cost.

Amazing service. A pot hole destroyed a tire on a Friday afternoon. They ordered my tire, installed, and had me out the door before close.

There's a lot to say about Vulcan Tire & Automotive. While I give it a one star review they really were not completely bad. They did service my and my wife's cars really quickly. They were polite when speaking to them in person and over the phone. My low review mostly stems from them finding multiple additional things wrong with our cars. Things that didn't seem to be an issue when we dropped them off. 1. One of these things was a "loud roar" that my car was making. There was not a "loud roar" when I dropped it off a few days prior to this and a loud roar developed after they did work on my car. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that some work done on the car produced this "loud roar" since it wasn't present when I dropped it off. 2. They charged me for a brake flush which I was not informed of. 3. The parts and labor seemed a bit expensive. I'm not a mechanic and I'm not an expert in auto mechanics but I do some repairs on my car and the time and cost of some items that I have repaired sounded over estimated to me (more than an hour in labor than I would expect and several hundred more dollars). I suppose this could be some sort of convenience fee because, as I said before, they did repair our cars quickly, but this price did still seems a bit excessive.

When you take you car in to Vulcan, they are going to do you right. I recently got a screw in my tire and it was slowly leaking air. I discovered the leak at work, so I took it to the two closest auto repair shops to my work that day and got quotes and had them check my tire. Both places confirmed my worry that the screw was in an unfixable spot, but since the team at Vulcan had treated me so well in the past, I decided to hold off and keep airing up my tire until I could have time off work to take it to them instead.Vulcan quoted me a little higher on a tire replacement than the competitors, but I also had faith they would do a better job checking it out and doing the installation than the others, so I (thankfully) still decided to go with them. Not only did they find a way to patch my tire; but they aired my tires up and did a realignment and didn't charge me a thing. They could have easily done what I originally came to them for to get an extra buck, but instead decided to go the extra mile for me as their customer. Go here for honest and good work. I'll certainly not be going anywhere else.

Have bought 3 sets of tires from Vulcan. Every single time it’s at least half a day of waiting. Called this morning and was told they could absolutely fit my truck in no problem. Dropped my truck off for rotate and balance, went back 4 1/2 hours later and they hadn’t touched it. Was told “the college kids are back in town”. They do business like there’s not 100 other tire shops around that are actually competent enough to have a reasonable wait time for such a simple task. Will never use Vulcan again.

I have a 14 yr old Rav4 and I thought the brakes felt soft. I took it in and they tested it but didn't find any problems. They could have soaked me for bleeding the brakes but didn't. They returned the vehicle with no charge. Not even for the diagnostic work. These are good people to go to when you think something's wrong, particularly with an older vehicle. They're honest and helpful. Don't get much better than that.

Great experience. The whole crew was very helpful and looked after me. Got new wheels, brakes, and rotors for my C300. Wheels looked perfect and everything went smoothly.

The Vulcan Hoover location provided great service and a competitive price on new tires for my Ford Explorer. They gave me 3 price point options and completed a front end alignment in just a couple hours. Strong communicators!

My husband and I have gone to Vulcan several times and this past time we said we wouldn’t be going back. First, I was way over charged for a O2 sensor. It was $500 when normally a O2 sensor is closer to $300 on the high side. Secondly, when I got back into my car there was grease everywhere and not just a little bit. It was on both elbow rests, stirring wheel, and even in the seat. It took me forever to get all the grease up. The car mat was also filthy. Lastly, I had asked for a tire rotation. I’m not convinced they rotated them even though I was charged. I had checked the tire pressure before dropping it off and they were the same when I got in. I’m really disappointed and don’t plan on returning.Service: Tire rotations

Took my car in to get serviced in preparation for a long drive. They informed me of immediate issues and some fixes that can wait. Honest work and thorough. My engine light came on after I picked it up. I took it back in and they cleared it for me no additional charges. Friendly staff.

As soon as my family discovered Vulcan, we don't go anywhere else unless it's an emergency. We trust their insight and they always have our best interest at heart, even working with me to prioritize a timeline for repairs when money is tight.
