Great experience adopting my first cat from the Haven! Brenda and Monica gave me such great advice and I was so excited to adopt my new baby.

My wife and I have been married for 41 years, and in that time we have had 6 cats and 5 dogs. We both are in our 70's and after a few years ago, when our fur babies passed, we decided we wanted to adopt an adult female cat. I filled out the application online, and after 3 weeks, there was no communication at all, so my wife and I drove over to visit them to get an update and to bring a cat home. We were greeted by saying our references had checked out, with high marks from our vet and a vet tech yet there was a major concern. What was it? We had a doggie door in our house from our kitchen to the garage. They were concerned since we had a litter box in there where the cat could escape. I explained that we had three litter boxes, two in the house and one in the garage. She said this was a major concern since they had one occasion when a cat got out of a garage. This came up over and over, and I said I would not judge all people on the one time this happened since we had six cats over 40 years and none had escaped. No matter what I said, it was an issue. We did find a cat we were interested in, but all of a sudden she said I think someone was interested in her. Clearly, we were judged not to be responsible enough to own a cat. I'm an indigenous (Native American) man, and I have experienced this prejudice before. We left after a horrible experience. I guess if you are not perfect in her judgment, you are refused the experience of giving a cat a loving home.

Adopted my first kitty from here. Great people who really care about cats, will give you the A to Z about cats and make sure you know every little think about cats before you adopt the cat.

The volunteers at Kitty Kat Haven were all extremely kind, enthusiastic about their work, and helpful throughout my entire experience with them. I’ve been wanting to adopt for a while now and they walked me through the entire process and taught me a lot of things I wasn’t aware of. I’m grateful for all of their help and encourage others to work with them as well because even though all of the cats there are greatly loved and cared for, they all deserve an equally loving home and a family that will care about them.

Just adopted two female kittens from here, Sashimi and Umami. They are the absolute sweetest. Working with the Haven and the foster was also really easy and smooth, I highly recommend looking for a cat here if you’re interested!

I adopted my two kitties from Kitty Kat Haven and I have no complaints. As shown by many other reviews, KKH is VERY thorough with their application process. They do call the references you put down & vets. Like many people who love cats, I see this is a positive – they are incredibly passionate about making sure that their animals go to loving and well-equipped families. Their staff is so helpful and kind, and you can tell how much their kitties mean to them (they have even texted to check up on my babies). I highly recommend adopting from KKH if you want to ensure that you're adopting from a place that truly cares about their animals!

We love our sweet Dunkin! We had a wonderful experience adopting through this amazing Haven. Brenda and Sonya stayed in contact with me throughout the process and sweet Sandy, Dunkin’s foster, was so patient and easy at the meet and greet we had. I would recommend this amazing rescue to anyone looking for a new fur baby to love!

I was fortunate enough to take home a pair of brothers from Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue recently. They were definitely very thorough in their vetting process to ensure the cats will go to a responsible home, but also very helpful with advice and suggestions regarding care (food, litter, etc).Brenda was great to work with and clearly has a passion for the cats! I would recommend them for cat adoptions. As a PSA, they do have rather restricted hours and days because they are volunteers. I would also recommend stopping by Gatos and Beans for a coffee with some of their adoptable cats!

Loved going through Kitty Kat Haven to get our cat! The volunteers are committed to finding the right fit for each cat. They were very responsive to me throughout the entire process. They care so much about the cats there. So happy to have found my sweet kitty through them!

I would give a negative star if I could. The adoption process here is archaic, and makes one wonder if this is really an organization that wants to meet it's stated goal, or if it has other more nefarious goals. While I can understand their policy of wanting to be selective about their placements, they go above and beyond to ensure their cats DO NOT get adopted out. They do not state their requirements for getting a cat, such as it can NEVER be outside, but use that to deny applicants. If you want to use them to adopt a cat, you may well be wasting your time. You can get a free cat almost anywhere, or adopt from other shelters. In fact, it makes MORE sense to adopt from a kill shelter, where you are actually saving a cats life.I said all that to get to the last point. Kitty Kat Haven NEEDS cute and playful cats in their shelter to be the "face" of their fundraising activities. If they adopt out all of their cats, they have no source of INCOME.I have been to shelters all my life, and a lot of times, they have NO cats, or very few cats. They don't have 300 cats in foster care, plus a house full of "pretty" cats to show off.Is this place used as a way to generate income that does not go for its intended purpose? I looked Kitty Kat Haven up on charity navigator and they only get 2 stars, and this rating is based SOLELY on their financial accountability.I would highly recommend not donating to them. There are far better animal related charities to donate to, such as the humane society. There is something fishy going on here.vities.

I would NOT waste your time trying to adopt from here. They ignore your messages and have to be harassed to respond. I stated in my application that I wanted the cat to stay indoors only, and they denied me. They told me since I had selected the inside/outside option I was AUTOmatically denied. Even though I had ALSO included in my description that I preferred the cat to stay indoors only. They obviously didnt even take the time to look over my application. Nor would they reconsider once I pointed that out to them. I wasted 4 days messing with this "organization" .Make sure you select INDOOR ONLY on all options if you want to adpot a cat/kitten from them, and save yourself some time.p.s. Kitty Kat Haven, I'm sure you'll be quick to respond to this negative review, but How about you use your time wisely and respond to emails of people who are willing to drive over an hour and spend $135 to adopt a cat. Just to deny them, because of a technicality.Edited to add: you know you were in the wrong when you block me and remove the review section completely from your facebook page. Well, you can't delete my google review. And your applicants need to know your "INDOOR only" policy. Even my 11 year old asked, "Why would your application even have an outdoor option if you dont allow it"

We have adopted two wonderful kittens from this beautiful, wonderfully managed rescue house. We now annually donate to them in our cats’ honor. They do a great job of vetting potential cat owners.

We adopted our beautiful kitty here and we couldn’t be more grateful for the staff at KKH. Brenda made the adoption process very easy, answered all of our questions along the way, and regularly updated us on our kitty on days we weren’t able to visit. This is the first cat I’ve ever had and the team at KKH was so welcoming and knowledgeable. I would recommend KKH to anyone who is looking for a cat

KittyKat Haven was wonderful! We really enjoyed our experience! They were really patient with us taking our time to truly find who fit our family. They allowed us to be picky. They even gave suggestions and encouraged multiple meetings. They provided us with the cabin, a safe room where we could meet the kittens and play in a kitty kat heaven, and even let us meet with the kitties at their foster homes where they are most comfortable. I made new friends and loved meeting so many new people. It was truly a fantastic experience, and we found the perfect brothers to adopt into our family. We are so excited and so happy! Thank you, KKHR, for helping us extend our family! ❤️
