No towels in the room. No shower curtain. Phone to call downstairs didn't work. Floor was filthy. Replacement room had bugs flying around. I thought this type of hotel was supposed to be pretty good, but it was gross there. Elevator was sketchy too.

Noteworthy details: The web site says that it is a fully renovated hotel. If is an old hotel that is in the process of being updated. There were workmen doing construction on the hotel past 9 PM on a Sat night. Hammering, banging, sawing etc. The last straw was a fork lift dumping trash at 9 PM.
Since Marriott only was one staff member working at the hotel, he was not able to do anything. His offer to me was that he would refund my room and check me out of the hotel. Not satisfying since I am in a strange city.

I expect way better out of a $230 per night Courtyard by Marriot. This place is a dump I wouldn’t pay more than $50
Safety: Neighborhood pretty sketchy

Rooms were very clean if a tad outdated. Interior was a bit worn but still kept neat and orderly.

My family and I stayed here for a few days. I would advise against this. My husband has a service dog and we were told up front that would be fine. Then when we were placed into diff rooms because the TVs didn't work the ac didn't work. We were supposed to verify our dog was a service dog to stay any longer. For the inconvenience of them having to move us around we were supposed to be comped for a night. That's when all the trouble started. They said a deep cleaning had to happen because of our dog. My child dumped some of the dry dog food (maybe a half cup size) and we were rushing to change rooms so I forgot to cl an it up. plus they said there was ashes in the closet. I do not even smoke. The district/general manager told us it wasn't an issue we would just have to prove the service dog to stay. After our final move we ended up in a room w used condom wrapping and two huge wasp nests on the patio. Which I am deathly allergic to. We went to book one more night and asked if they could give us the same rate as the prior days. They told us absolutely not. We chose to leave and that's where we were charged a deep cleaning and for breakfast. The deep cleaning because of the dog kibbles was $138 and the rest for break. How in the world were we charged for breakfast when they had no breakfast to offer the bistro was not even fully working. They had no way to even cook food and their Starbucks wasn't even working either other to make drinks with no ice even. Nor could they even heat them. In all after leaving we were charged $218. For what!?! Called and asked for management to call back. This has still never happened. The only way found the charge info out is Expedia called on our behalf. Talk about absolutely horrible just hands down bad customer service.
You all see a response from the owner... It is now going on 3days and I have had absolutely no contact back from them. No return charges nothing. They don't care. Be prepared to get charged whatever it is they feel and have to pay it no matter what. I only put my card on file for them as a $20 incidental but was charged $218. Sounds fair right!! Crooks!
It's now how many weeks later I think 2 or 3 weeks since the owner responded with such concern for my family stay. To this date I have received absolutely NO communication back from a single employee at this company! I received absolutely $0.00 back for their absolutely absurd charges! It's sad a company trying to keep up with higher end hotels, and they just can't. I don't care what company you are if you steal, have policies in place that allow you to do dirty, scummy, crooked things to your customers - Your company is validated trash! (Which you really are.. I mean your house keeping can't even clean up used condom wrappings - your general manager comps night to seem like Captain save a *#.. only for him to turn around and charge double what he compensated a single night room for. Wow! Hope you got or get you bonuses this year management!
Noteworthy details: I would not stay here ever again!

I stayed here during their renovations which was awful. I decided to give them another chance since I am a Marriot Rewards member. I will not give them another chance. I stayed on the 2nd floor, and the air conditioning was not working in the hallway. The pool is dirty and has grime all over the bottom. I was looking forward to having a drink at the bar at 5pm, and they told me the bar is not open indefinitely. The front desk person told me there is a bar across the street I could go too. We pay for amenities and do not get our monies worth. Very disappointing.

We have stayed at hundreds of places over the last 10 years for travel baseball. This one hands down has the nicest employees and it's not close. I don't recall a nicer place. They were super courteous upon check in. They helped us stay 2 additional nights keeping us in the same room so we wouldn't have to move all of our things.
My only complaint is no free breakfast. They do have free coffee.
The fitness room is small but clean & comfortable.
It is an older hotel but would look great if they would focus on their landscaping. It needs fresh mulch or rock. You can tell that it has not been maintained for some time.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms are super small and have no maneuverbility.
Would I stay here again...yes! Centered location with everything around it.

On June 28 through July 2, we stayed in the Marriott courtyard Birmingham/Hoover we did not receive for these points for case number 583407518 This hotel would refuse to give us any towels and we could only use one towel for our family of three. We had to wait till the following day till 11 o’clock for the workers to come in their excuse was we have a softball team here and they used all the towels and did not care. To top it off there was a girl that was touched on inappropriately at the hotel and the police were called. We had no idea and we have a 16-year-old son that has brown hair and is 6 foot tall. In the middle of the night starting at 4:20 AM the police came to the door three different times and was banging on the door to interview us. The desk did not call us. there was no security. The police could not pull the cameras to find out who the real perpetrator was. they said that they had to wait till the next day for the manager to come in. Me and my wife do not understand why they could not call somebody to come in since this is a huge corporation. Needless to say my son was not even around the situation, and was accused of something wrong for being a 6 foot brown haired boy. We had to prove on Life360 that he was not even around this situation.
Me and my wife can’t believe that nobody has called us back or emailed us about this situation. This needs to be resolved immediately we plan on going to Indiana and staying at another Marriott with our baseball team. The dates are. If this is not resolved by? Then we will move our whole baseball team and we will never stay at a Marriott again. We have been rewards members for years and have never had this problem before. I will be forced to tag and write reviews from the BBB social media, etc..
We spoke to the main customer service and was not able to help. They said that each property handles it and Marriott themselves will not do anything. A guy named Greg H will not respond back.
Please advise
Chris and Nicole Ditmeyer the main case number is 580809727

This hotel needs a total renovation. In its current condition it is way overpriced. I was in a suite that was supposed to have 2 TVs but only had one. There was no phone. The bed linens should be thrown away. The breakfast was a joke. Definitely did not meet Marriott's standards in my opinion.
