They don't spend time selling junk foods that have bad ingredients in them for my cats and they were the ones who turned me into a fan of the litter I buy, Fresh and Natural. “Their honesty and knowledge is what puts this store above going anywhere else.I have a just now 2 month old pomeranian puppy.I got the food, harness, leash, and treats from here.? They truly know their stuff and was able to help me start puppy life sweet and easily. My main concern was food. With the Fromm brand, some pumpkin, and a hint of Fresh Pet he won't even look at Royal Canin ? (the breeder had him on it). We changed his food the same day with no following problems at all. They really took the time to show me all of the way around on two separate occasions and get me fully suited up.They were able to describe everything and know the effects of everything as well.Their prices on everything in the store is surprisingly better than going most anywhere else. Even Amazon in some cases.1. I will go back for more products as my little guy grows. I do recommend the store even after initially going in with a "I'm not falling for your high priced tricks" mindset.2. They do have grooming and other services.3. I did get the playpen, diapers, male wraps, Lillian Ruff Calming Oatmeal shampoo, and some other stuff from Amazon. I already liked what I had picked out.4. If anything, at least get some great knowledge for your furry family member from here. They have not steered me wrong at all! Specifically the worker with the sweet older black dog (Jack/Jake) that follows him around while demonstrating the goods and products for you.I love this store and this location! The plaza has a cold stone creamery and it's super close to home.”

“I typically find going to this store is worth the trip! Today I found small bags of high quality dog food in a clearance section! Very helpful! I found a variety of items on sale and I had a good coupon too! I got two bags of food and two chew sticks and felt I paid a fair price! Workers were friendly.”

Best place you can go in Birmingham for quality fish that my wife, and I have found. Great pricing as well as sales every now, and then. They won't push anything on you that you do not need. These people are hobbyists, and enthusiasts.I believe the reviews relating to "rude" staff members may be a misunderstanding. They are very knowledgeable, and don't want to send you home with stuff that will absolutely destroy your tank. They're also very busy. This hobby can be a mental nightmare. They know their stuff so trust them. If anything they are more then patient. I talk way too much, and my brains all over the place running 250% all the time because of ADHD. “We have been customers of Pet Stop for over 20 years, with 3 different dogs at 2 different homes during that time.We have always been pleased with the service we have received. Most recently, I was assisted over the phone with syncing a collar to our system without having a service call to the house. That was successful, & I’m not tech savvy. When service men did come out on another issue recently, they were both polite and completed the work efficiently.I am thankful to have Pet Stop in my area.”

“First time "fishtanker"..... then this is the place to go! The manager is well versed on different tanks, what type fish go with others in community tanks and after going to Petsmart and Petco I FINALLY found angelfish here.. I was even advised if I'm looking for a specific type of fish they can order it.. There was never this much interaction or support at either of the two big name "pet stores" in Birmingham. If its out the way to go to Vestavia Hills, it's worth it....especially if your new to the tank world and have questions. #fishtankworld”

“It can be a little difficult to get in and out of the lot due to location. However, the groomer I had was amazing even though they were short staffed. Friendly and helpful staff overall.”

“I've always had a great experience at this location. Not only are their employees that work there are awesome but their aquatics department is spot on. Check out their community tanks! They are amazing and you can tell that hard work and dedication were put into those tanks. Donald that works in the aquatics dept. has been so helpful every time we visit to look for new fish for our 15+ tanks at home. He answers every question we ever had and if there was ever anything he didn't know (which is rare) he will help us find out. He gives us great recommendations as well as brainstorming ideas to help us what kind of setup we can do for future tanks. He has made it such a great experience the first few times we came to visit that we visit this store just about EVERY weekend.

You can tell that Donald and his team have put in so much effort to making it look flawless as well as keeping the fish as safe and healthy as possible. Don't let negative reviews deter you from getting fish here. Sometimes you can't blame the store in how a fish comes in from a vendor - some breeds of fish are more susceptible to stress and illnesses during transport and will develop ich. It sometimes can't be helped but rest assured that Donald and team will treat anything that may affect the fish they have. Other local pet stores will toss out sick fish because they don't care, however this store is quiet the opposite!

Donald is our favorite aquatics person by far! He's very approachable, knowledgeable, super helpful, and you can tell that he has great passion for aquatic life. We will keep visiting and purchasing fish from this location. Other Petco locations only wish they had someone like Donald. I have bought MANY fish from this store and I have never had any issues and they are all still alive with zero illnesses to this day. Fantastic staff, clean store, great products, and I will continue being a customer!”
