Easily the best Chinese food I’ve had. The steamed dumplings were phenomenal, and the service was pleasant.

Food is very authentic, doesn't taste like it's mass produced in a factory!

The food was good. We ordered Mongolian beef and Kung Pao Chicken. The taste was good but we like the sauce a bit more thick.

We ordered takeout from Mr. Chen’s in Homewood today - our first experience with this restaurant. Placed order by phone with ease and our food was ready and packed when we arrived. The Mongolian Beef and Triple Delight were both delicious. The staff was friendly and professional. The atmosphere of the dining area was inviting and we look forward to eating in next time - and having a look through the market! ??

The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive. This is one of the few Chinese restaurants that actually has traditional Chinese cuisine on the menu. Enjoy!

Best To-go Asian food in Bham. Spicy bean blend tofu is unmatched in Birmingham by any tofu dish.

They have lots of authentic Chinese dishes as well as the common ones. Highly recommend to try authentic ones. Portions are more than enough for 2 folks per dish on many dishes. Waiters explain nicely what's what. Also look online for the pictures. Entrance is through a huge Asian grocery store but that's about it...once inside the decor etc is very modern and well kept.Vegetarian options: They have good veg options. The snowpack leaves, garlic eggplant, baking Choi with mushrooms are my favorite.Parking: Lots of parking space. Shared parking with grocery store and other stores but lots and lots of parking.Kid-friendliness: There's no bar or something but they do have alcoholic beverages. It's a calm environment for the kids.

The food was good, portion size was decent but the hot and sour was mainly sour and a little pricey, the fried rice was good and different from New York or Philly type of fried rice! I would go again for sure!

Make the extra drive to Mr. Chen’s in Hoover, AL!!!! In disbelief that these are the same restaurant! Food was not fresh… pretty gross to be honest. Service sucked. Definitely will not be coming back.
