Exceptional shop and even better people. I took my rifle to get worked on. It took about 10 minutes and they had me squared away. Excellent customer service and great conversation. The team here does exceptional work and treats customers like friends.

Had these guys do a pin and weld for me last year. It looked pretty bad but I was like whatever bc as long as it worked I was good with it. When I got home it turned out they had also removed the finish on the barrel pretty bad too and covered it with some stuff that just scraped off... I didn't worry about these things at the time because I was good as long as it worked and you couldn't see the messed up finish anyways. Well here we are a year later and the muzzle device has come loose despite being pinned and welded. After googling around a little, apparently this happens when they don't torque the device properly prior to pinning and welding. I'd highly recommend you use someone else if you are looking for something like this.

Dewey has been working on my firearms since I moved to Huntsville in 2013. He gently restored an 03A3 Springfield for me that my father gave me. It had lost all origional finish and moistur got to it in the storage case. I was very concerned that nothing be done that would affect the accuracy of the rifle.I could not have been happier with the results. They totally disassembled the rifle, cleaned inspected and refinished everything. The rifle looked like new. The wood came out beautiful. The sight adjustment had not been that smooth in the 30 years we had the rifle. They are honest with times but what's worth doing well, is worth the wait.

These guys did a fantastic job in fixing both my Dad’s and Grandfather’s 30-06 rifles. Communication and the quality of work was great! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

My dad brought a family heirloom Marlin model 1881 .40-60 to Dewey for a bore cast and cleaning. Dewey convinced my elderly dad to Cerakote the rifle which greatly devalues the rifle. Dewey also sent the rifle out for repair and when I finally received it, the rifle had almost been ruined. I have spent around 1500.00 to repair the damage that this guy did. Dewey might be great with late model rifles but he’s not the right guy for anything older or heirloom. He will wreck it for you

Had my AKM for around two and a half months. I had to constantly keep calling for an update (and the guy supposed to be working on the rifle was absent for all but the last call, so I couldn't even get an update). They kept telling me 'it's taken apart, it's in the mill. We're moving, so on the last call, I said, just put it back together, I'll come pick it up. I get there, the gun had never even been touched. Then the guy tries to tell me that it takes specialized equipment to work on.Yeah, that's why I brought it to a 'gunsmith'. So I told him, I know that, I'm the one who built the rifle. If I were staying in this area, I would NEVER go to these guys again. Terrible.

Have been here multiple times. Guys are very nice. However, while having sites put on new pistol the gun was scratched up. Had to bring it back due to sites not straight. And on 2nd attempt they bent front site while putting it back on. So site is centered but now leans to left.Since my original review, The owner (Dewey) has offered to make the site correct. I took in a new site and he installed and sited it. I can’t tell you enough how nice it is to have someone stand behind their work, their word. My pistol is in good shape and American Pride Firearms will always have my gunsmith work. Thank you APF
