Hank Williams MuseumGeorgiana, ALRegrettably, Georgiana has fallen on hard times with most store fronts closed. RVTRIPWIZARD got us to within four blocks of the museum then turned us the wrong direction onto a less than friendly RV road. Fortunately, there was zero traffic and a quick search with Google Maps got us on track. Pulling a small RV, we parked along the train tracks but the care taker said was could park along the street in front of the museum. We would recommend parking in front of the post office building a short walk to the museum. The museum has tons of Hank Williams information, pictures and the care taker was very knowledgeable. It does cost $5 per adult, there are some gifts/souvenirs, and a small fridge with cold drinks available for purchase. Plus a bathroom. She told us June is the busiest month as the town host the Hank Williams Festival. We could see a number of campsites for small RVs (water/elec only) on the museum grounds as well as on neighboring property. The old Dr. Pepper Bottling Plant building is just an old dilapidated building with nothing to suggest it’s former life.

As a c&w fan, I thank you for preserving this placeNeeds a little TLC (faded signage, maybe power wash the awning?) but this is probably volunteer and funds-related (need more of both) so, understandable.I read that absolutely no photos allowed inside and that's disappointing. Just wanted a picture of us inside Hank's house. Oh well.Good selection of items in gift shop. But some CDs or 45s for sale would be appreciated!!Small collection... did not take long to go through. Enjoyed it though

My wife and I visited the museum today. A wealth of memorabilia and history in the house. The most awesome thing there though was the hostess Leona. We had the pleasure of listening to the story's she told of "Hank" for 15-20 minutes. What a delightful lady to spend time with. 30 years of knowledge, what a Godsend.

If you are a Hank Williams fan this was neat to see the house where he grew up. Museum was not open when we came through.

Ohh! We had a great time in George's childhood home! With one the the first dance halls which I'm sure inspired him! Bout a cool shirt, stickers and pin! Make sure you leave a tip to insure his legacy goes on!

Being close to reaching Florida, my friend was interested in the Hank Williams Boyhood Home Museum. I never knew this country music artist was from Georgiana Alabama. You know what they say you learn something new everyday. This was most definitely a great stopping place. Admission was reasonable. My friend and I got to hear of Hank Williams life story from the woman who was working the front, got to learn things we both never knew about the musician. I won't say too much on here otherwise what would be the point of going to this house? This house is definitely historic, I do like the old fashioned kitchen and the bedroom. That would happen to be my favorite part of the house. The exhibits were quite interesting as well. Definitely worth checking out whether you're a country music fan or not.

Should let people take pictures.Lame excuse that you can't because some stuff was on loan.Everyone would like to have them as keepsakes not to try and sell them.

The lady who worked there was super knowledgeable and had a lot of great stories about Hank’s life, you’d think she’d known him herself, but she was actually from the area and did know a lot of his friends and associates! Really cool collection of memorabilia of Hank’s life. Highly recommended if you consider yourself an actual country music fan and are interested in history too.

Loved it! Well worth the detour if you're driving through the area. Lots of memorabilia, knowledge hostess, reasonably priced.

Sweet little spot, not far off the highway (5-10 minutes). I’m obsessed with old-timey American roots music and Western Swing, so my husband surprised me with a visit on the way to Montgomery…where there’s another museum! We’ve also been to Tupelo, the boyhood home of Elvis. The simple upbringing and hard times of their childhoods made them who they were, Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton too! Only $5 for admission and a reasonable rate on souvenirs. The sweet lady selling tickets is a local with lots of insight. Humble places of decent folks like this make me proud to be a country girl, thanks for preserving his memory! #nobelprize P.S. We heard a train roll through the middle of town, as we were leaving. It was a fitting tribute! ? ? ?
