I know someone who works for them. They say 1,300 a week or more. That's not possible at 1.00 a ton. Waiting time at the paper mill is crazy. The company spent more time lying to the driver refusing to tell them what the actual pay is. Just about every truck is beat to hell. I definitely would never work for them

If you had to choose between this job or shoveling manure out of a horse stall for $10.00 an hour, I’ve got a shovel you can borrow. Management tries to short you on money any way they can, you constantly have to check your paycheck every week and are always short money on it. Management will put you on a route were you have to work 3 to 4 times as hard to make the same money as you do on other easier routes. It’s near about impossible to make any money at this company. By the way, all these 5 star reviews that’s on here, is all employees at Barnes who wrote the 5 star reviews for a chance to win Alabama football tickets and tickets to talledaga to watch the races. Such a terrible company they have to bribe there own employees with prizes so people reading these reviews actually think this is a good place to work at. They have 3-5 new hires in orientation every week for a reason. Then if you don’t live close to your route, they expect you to drive your personal vehicle to the truck, absolutely ridiculous, and when you try to address these things with management nothing gets done, they only care about themselves and making them money.

I have been with this company almost a year now. I have absolutely enjoyed it. I have enjoyed working with my co-workers and the fellow drivers. I have to say this is one of the best companies I have ever worked for . Of course, there is ups and downs , that is part of life. But, all and all best all over company. My husband works has worked as a long haul driver for the last 12 year. He is home on weekends and when we need him,which is important to our family. The company has been good to us and I am proud to say he works for Billy Barnes. They have made a lot of changes over the years.

Personal experience varies. Everyday is a challenge but, doing what has to be done. We are a service company, I feel I am empowered to put the customer first and communicate.
