They checked out my truck found out the problem was not the transmission but a electrical problem. There was no charge

Can’t say enough good things about AAMCO of Florence,AL. James Hall and his staff are through, professional, and kept me informed while the transmission on my truck was repaired. I highly recommend this business for all of your auto repair needs.Service: Transmission

I have been an Aamco customer for over 25 years. They have saved my bacon more than a few times, and there's nowhere else I'd take my car! Their getting a visit from me tomorrow in fact!

They want to charge me $3k and replace everything on my transmission instead of only replacing the needed part which is significantly cheaper.

They went out of their way to fix my wife's Buick Encore. We are satisfied with the work they did.

I'll never take my vehicles back to them they told me they had my truck ready and drove without an issue when I picked it up it took forever to get it home because it didn't want to take gear and is worse then it was when I dropped it off. And to top that off the guy that I talked to on the phone was extremely rude and said he couldn't find the parts and I can find 15 different places that sell them for a fraction of the price that I paid for them.

Calling AAMCO Transmissions in Florence, AL was a great decision. I had previously taken my vehicle to two other shops that were unable to fix my transmission or even tell me what was wrong with my car. AAMCO had my car fixed in one day for a great price. I am beyond grateful. They did an amazing job. My car is running great. The staff members were absolutely incredible. I would recommend them to anyone.

Got a quote on labor and parts for a repair for my car. I spoke to first guy very nice and professional gave a fair quote for time. He said they like to use a particular brand for the parts I needed, which was already the exact brand I wanted them to use since I was already looking for the part kit. Since everything, I needed is included in this one kit. He told me to call back tomorrow since the person they have order parts and does quotes is not in. It was the end of the day so i was like ok sounds good, admittedly I was looking forward to the call. Thinking maybe i found a good repair shop to deal with since I own 4 cars. Few days later I call in I get James; I introduce myself and i start to say what I needed and that i spoke to someone the other day about the labor. Then he just cuts me off and says well I still must verify that and says the price I was quoted. I notice this guy has a bad tone, but I write it off as we all have bad days right. So I give him the make and model and year of the car. He can’t find the car in his “system” I try to explain to him if he just looks it up as 2.0L DOHC with a six speed it is the only six speed they made for this year. However, he cuts me off again and says he needs the vin. I tell him I will have to call him right back with that, he sighs. I call him back with the vin then he said he needs the production date. I ask him why and I try again to explain that the car was only made for 4 years its only one specific part kit. But again he cuts me off before I can even finish that sentence, I try again but again cut off. Finally, I tell him I will just have to call him back. About 30 mins later he calls me tell me he called the dealership and got the production date and leaves a voicemail. I call back today to get the price, he goes into salesman mode telling me it’s an upgraded part (not really the oem doesn't make them any more) and its going to be like 765 dollars for the parts. I laugh because umm that’s kind of crazy high. I say well ill just buy the part kit myself and ill have it tomorrow. He states that they do not allow that. You know what I can understand that, stuff happens people make mistakes. So, I ask him to explain the cost and I say he is a few hundred over the price on the high-end. He states he had to really dig to find the part. There are maybe at least ten places that have this part in stock. Prices range from $365-$415 and for $500 I can have it tomorrow at my house. So when I quote the part number for the kit he is ordering and the prices he shuts up for once. I explain I can’t pay him a few hundred just for the privilege of him ordering the part. I try to get him to be more reasonable, if he would have said 600 I would have done it just because I have had people recommend their work in the past and I have always said I would give him a chance next time I have a issue with any of my cars. But nope he again cuts me off barely before I get a word out. He then very rudely says “That’s the price to fix your little car” in a very condescending tone. I say well ill just go else where and go to hang up and I hear him say FINE! Look I have heard good things about the quality of their work. I even looked at a friend’s invoice on some work he had done in the past and the markup on parts was like 10% that’s normal that’s not bad. However, James was trying to pull one over on me and got caught. Just the whole exchange with James was awful, that guy really is a piece of work. I just remembered the first guys name it was Tim he was very nice and very polite. If I remembered to record those phone calls ill post them on YouTube and edit this review and put them here. Customer Service is kind of important. This will be my defacto story I give people when they ask me do you know any good auto repair shops in the area. So if you call and you get james, I suggest you just hang up.*Update: dealership quoted under 600 for parts. So if the stealership is lower I mean its just dishonesty.
