The hotel is in an excellent location, breakfast was good, and the room was clean. However, the room had a lumpy bed, tile pieces missing in the bathroom, and was very outdated. The entire second floor smelled like marijuana, and we had to be moved to another floor. Hilton needs to update these rooms!Rooms: Very outdated, but clean.Walkability: Great walkability!

This is not your typical and relied-upon Hampton Inn. It is old and rundown with terrible smells in corridors - constant loud construction beeping and noise on westside of hotel - room was not the cleanest.Construction started at 8am!Shower was full of hairs, toilet had feces remains from previous guest(s), sheets were on crooked with grease stains on the pillows and sheets, Fridge had leftover food in it!Housekeeping staff was banging in and out of rooms, yelling and carrying on with each other in the hallway outside of our room starting at 9am...Glad someone was having a good time at this hotel. We got little sleep and could not wait to leave. This is the only hotel in the downtown Fairhope area, and I am sure they bank on that fact to get away with the substandard conditions that other Hampton Inn's would not.

Rooms are decent for an older property. Clean, but most of the common areas smelled like weed. Great location, close to nice downtown area.

I was not satisfied with our stay. Computer was down could not get into our room. The room did not smell clean. Could not get the tv to work called the front desk got no answer. The bathroom floor was disgusting. This will be my last visit there .

I wish we had known the hotel was in a major construction zone—noise, dangerous walking in parking lot. I am handicapped veteran and it was horrible to navigate around outside. I nearly fell more than once. Construction workers take up hotel parking. NEVER COME HERE.PS Rooms are dingy and depressing. In fairness to staff they did their best with what they have. Very nice people in awful conditions.Rooms: DepressingSafety: Dangerous for handicapped. Traffic thru parking lot hard on your vehicle.Walkability: Dangerous to handicapped person.

Checked in last night and the gentleman at front desk was very sweet and cordial. Hotel was in the heart of downtown ( great location) and it seemed so quaint and pretty from the outside. However, when we got into our room, there was food crumbs all over the carpet and the bathroom wasn't clean. Obviously, housekeeping forgot to vacuum after the previous guests were eating. I even found a rusty screw on the carpet in the morning, which I brought down to the front desk staff to show them. The room was dated, which I can accept because of this Southern, adorable historic little town. However, it was unclean, unsanitary and just plain gross. When I checked out, I let the staff know. The manager, Shannon, gave NO acknowlegment or apologies for the lack of cleanliness or safety (rusty screw that I actually wrapped up and brought down to give them) which is unacceptable. I run my own business and would want to know if something was unsanitary or a customer was leaving unhappy and disgusted.I just wanted the mishaps to be acknowledged and corrected for future guests. I received no apology, paid my bill and left thinking how how I'd never return.

The view left much to be desired with all the construction going on next door, but at least it was quiet. I appreciated the spacious room and the other amenities. Breakfast was fine, but could have been warmer. I slept well and got a good start in the morning.Rooms: Nice, older.Food & drinks: Breakfast edible.

Sadly the poorest ratings are most accurate. Dated, run down Hampton Inn that desperately needs some attention from corporate. Construction next door is a huge issue (despite being sparsely occupied we were given a room with a window 10 feet from construction with scaffolding, workers and machinery in full view).Personnel are poorly trained and apathetic. On our second night we awoke to someone trying to enter our room. Apparently when we checked in it was not recorded in the system so they assigned our “unoccupied” room to someone else. Reported the incident in the morning as our keys were deactivated. Young man at the desk could not have been less concerned when issuing new keys. Zero eye contact. When we checked out they did not have record of our stay because in their system we were never there, despite staying 2 nights. Our receipt showed a one night billing as a “no show”.It’s basically the only game in town - so sad that is a poor reflection of a lovely community.

I usually like Hampton Inns. They are clean, with friendly staff. This place has the name Hampton Inn, and sort of looked like a Hampton Inn, but it did not live up to expectations. The place looks way better on the outside than the rooms are on the inside. We had a king room on the ground floor. The room was dark... It seemed like we were in a cave. The bed was lumpy and the pillows deflated to flat. As for service, there were always people seated at the front desk, but i never felt welcome. Never a greeting. Will look somewhere else to stay the next time we're in Fairhope.

Room was dirty and clearly had not been dusted in a long time. Carpet was filthy, walking around in socks and the bottom was so dirty. Went out for the day and no housekeeping came in, went to desk to get new towels and asked about housekeeping and she ask if I had requested housekeeping to come in… I said no, didn’t realize it had to be requested…I would NOT RECOMMEND this place it was very expensive room to be so dirty.

Hotel is outdated and needs to be renovated. The rates are going up interestingly. It’s in a prime location or would prefer to stay elsewhere.Rooms: Need to be updated.

This place is run down, dusty, old broken light fixtures in the halls. Construction going on outside starts at 6am. Very noisy. Our TV went out second night and all the TVs were out due to weather, but it was only raining. Breakfast was ok. Booths are split open, worn out, eggs were cold. Very disappointed in Hampton Inn.Walkability: Close to all the shops.

Stayed here a few nights to celebrate my birthday. Fantastic location in the heart of downtown Fairhope walking distance from all the shops and restaurants. Heather the GM, her staff, and housekeeping were very friendly and accommodating. They even brought in homemade Beignets from a local restaurant to add to their complimentary breakfast. I really liked the digital key feature through the Hilton app. The rooms are dated, but were very clean and comfortable. I recommend this Hampton to all my friends and family. We will definitely be back!!

Rooms were good. Beds are a little hard and smell of bleach is strong for someone with allergies like myself. Front desk attendees were very nice. Breakfast was good. Location is very good but parking and schlepping luggage is tough. Overall a good stay.
