I have been in this store 4 times over the past 6 months and not one time has anyone ever spoken to me. Not a hello, may i help you, or good bye. I am not the only person who has commented on how rude these employees/owners are. I’m surprised that anyone would want to do business there. I work in retail in Fairhope and would never let someone walk in or out without being polite and speaking.

I was referred to try Green Gates in furnishing new home. I purchased a side board $4,000 & mirror $2,000 early December. In asking about slipcovered chairs, she had two that I could purchase, $4,000 but she was using in show house and could not deliver until end of February to which I agreed. I paid $150 for delivery of sideboard & mirror. I asked how Feb delivery would work, I was told, no problem, they would just bring them. I was not told I would need to pay another $150 (delay was on them and I was paying for them 10 weeks ahead of receipt) and had spent a total of over $10,000. Two weeks later, they called asking if they could deliver that day as they had received new stock and would not be using, I agreed. They brought out, by then I had 2 couches, dining table with 5 chairs, etc that were in room, when I got home I could see the chairs were much to large and did not look right in space. I called explaining, asking if I could return and get my money back for chairs. I was told sure, wouldn't be a problem. I didn't want them to have to come out again so that day, we returned them, using total plastic coverings and both cars to transport the 45 min one way trip. She was NOT happy when we arrived. She said I should NOT have brought to her! I explained, I was told "no problem" and I wanted her to have asap so they could be sold. She then left us standing at counter while she discussed with others, making us feel very uncomfortable. We asked why this seemed to be a problem, she said you should NOT have brought, you should have had us pick up, with attitude. My husband said, "we spent alot of money here in good faith, are you going to refund us or not"? She then wrote up & handed us refund receipt in which she deducted $150, we questioned why and were told for 2nd delivery. We were not at all happy with the way in which this was handled. I was never told there would be a 2nd delivery charge, she wanted to argue, we didn't, she made us feel she was doing us a huge favor by refunding. Customer service should be top priority, to be treated like does not set well with us.

This place has amazing inventory and I only wish I could afford to buy. They do leave you alone, and I like that about them. If you have a question you can ask.

Don’t work here. Trust me on that. If you want to grow brain cancer the fastest way. Start working here. Never again. Worst choice i ever made. Never help someone when they never appreciate anything. If i could give a 0 star. I would!
