Don't expect a fair allocation if you are not a sweepstakes winner.The walk-up "line" before 8am opening is controlled by grifters and con artist hillbillies who don't live in the area. Allocation chicanery is what they do for a living this time of year. It's all about turning a buck on the resale market, rather than getting some holiday bottles of good whiskey to share with family, loved ones, and friends.The Out of Town Grifters have a "list" that is stacked with people who aren't there and then show up later, or the same person using a different name to get in line twice. There is no "line" to wait in, if you are a walk up.It's all a con game and ABC ignores the whole thing and lets the out of town grifters reign supreme, with their junky cars and caravans that go from state to state, conning their way into top shelf bottles for resale with bullying tactics which they pretend are fair.Anyone who tries to see proof of who is "in line" will first be politely rebuffed, and then treated as though they are crazy. If said person who lives in Fairhope (and happens to be a regular customer of this ABC branch store) persists in trying to wait in a real "line," then they will fall victim to much worse treatment by the hillbillies (danger!).The whole spectacle is enough to ruin a local's holiday spirit if they dare to show up and expect to get a fair shake for a nice bottle to share with friends and relatives. It's the whiskey equivalent of a dog-eat-dog pack of grinches--the diametrical opposite of Christmas cheer.Thanks ABC for letting out of state itinerate grifters get the best of local Fairhope citizens who pay their taxes every year and work hard to keep Fairhope a nice civilized place.One way to solve this problem would be to require that people bring proof of residency in the area (utility bill), along with a receipt from the past three months (not counting the week prior to allocation Saturday) at the Fairhope ABC liquor store in order to qualify to stand in the walk-up line. It would also be beneficial for ABC to require an actual "line" rather than a list run by hillbilly grifters who make their living by conning real customers out of their bottles while driving from city to city all over Alabama and beyond.
