December 2024 by Kinsey McClure
I will start off by overall stating I was lied to about what services were performed on my car.
I came in December 12th and asked if I could get my tires rotated and balanced (I had a vibration/noise when I drove). They took my information and keys and told me I would be taken care of. I watched them lift my car on the jack and shortly afterwards the male receptionist informed me that they would not recommend balancing or rotating my tires due to them preferring the most worn tires being on the front, which is where they were presently. My father then asked to speak to the receptionist after I explained this to him. After conversation with the receptionist, the male receptionist then agreed to proceed with rotating and balancing my tires due to our request for my vehicle. I then sat for approximately 5-10 minutes from this point and was then given my keys and was told I was good to go. I proceeded to go to my car and sat for a minute. I began thinking that I should verify that the services I came for were done since around 5-10 minutes seemed pretty quick to rotate and balance tires in my mind. I walked back inside and asked the same receptionist I had been working with all morning “I just wanted to verify that my tires did get balanced?”. He then proceeded to say “yes, let me show you”. He then walked me out to my car to ask me to feel my front drivers side tire and how worn down it was, stating it was the worst tire on the car and what was causing the vibrating and noise. This puzzled me due to them stating the worst tires were on the front when I initially presented my car, and the receptionist walked me straight to a front tire after they were “rotated” saying it was the worst tire on the car.
I drove home to let my dad look at my tires since he had just looked at them before I left for Jim Whaley and knew which tire was where. After evaluating, it was evident that the tires on the left side had indeed not been rotated. My father and I both went back to Jim Whaley to talk to the receptionist and manager to see what services were done since I left under the impression they were rotated and balanced, as requested, and was not informed of any other information. After confronting them about the situation, we were informed that the tires on the passenger side were rotated but the drivers side was NOT. This information was NOT informed to me, as the car owner and customer. I was then informed that the tires were NOT balanced, none of them, even after going in to verify prior to leaving their shop and was told they had been.
They claim there was a miscommunication and that the receptionist did not know what services were performed on my car. This is difficult for me to believe due to, as stated before, he had an idea the tire was not rotated on the left side because the front tires were more worn initially and post services he stated the front tire was the most worn after they should have been rotated. So the most worn should’ve been in the back, which is what he should’ve assumed if he thought they had in fact been rotated. The receptionist should have also verified that my tires had been balanced, first off prior to me walking out the door the first time, but especially before he verbally stated that they had been balanced when I came back inside to verify.
If I had not gone back to their shop, I would’ve assumed that all tires had been rotated and balanced because that was what I was informed would take place and had not been informed of anything else. This will be my last trip to Jim Whaley tire because I can not trust anything they tell me.
**Edited Response to Jim Whaley tires in Eufaula.
Your company did tell me that my tire was worn down, but was not informed of a “separated tire”. The miscommunication that y’all have is informing me that y’all rotated and balanced my tires (as we requested and y’all verified would be done upon my request as the customer) when y’all in fact did not. The issue I have is being lied to about the service

If I could give zero stars I would, but it won’t let me post it. I have so much I can say about this location and it’s not good…. I can start by saying got break pads put on first they ordered the wrong ones then they put them on and left a piece loose on my tire that was hanging out the rim and they act like they didn’t see it. It had to take somebody that wasn’t a mechanic to show them what was wrong and why it was making Rattling noises. Then I took it to get a spark plug put on because it was saying cylinder to misfire they claim they fixed it come to find out they didn’t put the spark plug-in. They changed my coil pack, but not my spark plug. and they didn’t inform me about it, and I had to bring it back. They changed the spark plug that time, but put the wrong spark plug in everything started going wrong with my car flashing check engine light and all I had to take my car to another shop to fix what they mess up now they have my car to try to put on CV axle and brake caliber and I still don’t know what’s going on because nobody has informed me on anything don’t go there. This will be my last time. oh, and not to mention, my car has been there ever since yesterday. It does not take a full 24 hours to put on a CV axle and brake caliber.

Thank you to the crew at Jim Whaley!!! We were driving back home to Georgia when we got a flat and pulled into the Walmart down the street. A quick call to JW and two techs came to helps us put on the spare. They did so during a torrential downpour. They expedited the fix and had us back on the road in no time. A stressful situation for us was handled with outmost integrity and professionalism. Thank you thank you for helping our family get through this! We hope you enjoyed the chick fil a!

We are very thankful to the great staff here. We called when we got in an accident on the way home to a different state, and Ashton assured us over the phone he would get us in quickly and taken care of. They were responsive and quick , and some of the staff checked if we were ok when we got there. They changed out our tires and hosed off the underside of the car from debris after our car spun off the road. 100% would recommend Jim Whaley Tires to any and everybody.

My son in law bought a truck. About a week later it cut off while driving so the dealer sent it to Jim Whaleys. They had the truck for about 3 weeks. He had to call them to check on what was going on about once a week. Today he calls to find out they do not want to do the job. They did NOT call him to give him this information. Originally when he dropped it off to them it was just cutting off here and there. NOW, it has NO power and the check engine light is on and it was NOT on when he dropped it off and it’s smoking really bad from the hood and the exhaust! The brakes are not working properly either. They act like they don’t want to work. All these things were NOT happening when he dropped the truck off!!!!
To top it all off the lady he talked to on the phone said his insurance company didn’t want to pay for a new motor. When he called his insurance company they said they haven’t talked to anyone at Jim Whaleys since right after the truck first got there. So, she lied to him. They just didn’t want to do the job.
If you have to drive an hour, go somewhere else!!!
