Our experience with this bank has been very positive. Michelle and Stancey have been extremely helpful with answering our questions quickly and checking for understanding. Everyone we have encountered here is kind. Ameris Bank has a very personal touch and have common sense policies and accounts.

On April 5, 2024
I went to Ameris Bank on April 5, 2024, to close my account. The assistant branch manager, Stephanie, closed my personal account but said there were pending transactions on my business account, so I needed to return in a few days to close it. Stephanie took both of my debit cards and said she would deactivate and dispose of them since I no longer needed them.
When I returned on April 8, 2024, Michele, the head teller, closed my account. Fast forward to May 16, 2024, I received a letter from Ameris Bank dated May 3, 2024, stating that a dispute for a POS transaction from February was complete. They determined that no error occurred and advised me to contact the merchant directly for a refund.
Upon my return to the Northside branch, I was shocked to discover that my account was not closed, and the business debit card was still active, even though I didn’t have the card in my possession. This revelation left me feeling misled and questioning the integrity of Ameris Bank’s operations. I was under the impression that my business account was closed.
When I asked why the dispute was not decided in my favor, I was informed that a business account does not have the same protection as a personal account when it comes to disputing transactions. I was shocked to learn this. The merchant I disputed, "TUJJU USL Shop," turned out to be a fraudulent company, but Ameris Bank seemed unconcerned and was only focused on charging me NSF fees. I have eleven back and forth emails trying to get this company to refund me. They stated I would get an 100% refund through the original payment. Amerris says there was no refund credited to my account.
Ameris Bank’s decision to reopen my account, resulting in the debiting of the disputed amount back to my account, has left me deeply disappointed. This has led to the accumulation of three NSF fees, amounting to $105. Despite my belief that my account was closed, Katie, who I was told was the manager, only refunded two NSF fees and refused to refund the third one. This experience has left me feeling that Ameris Bank is not prioritizing its customers’ financial well-being.
I wonder why no one from Ameris Bank could have emailed me to inform me that my account was reopened due to the dispute from February 6, 2024. Within 10 days, I accumulated $105 in NSF fees. In difficult financial times, most institutions in business to make money are often willing to make exceptions, but not Katie. None of these issues occurred when Mrs. Dana worked at the south side branch. Good customer service is what keeps people from going elsewhere.

I have been dealing with Ameris bank for several years now. All of the employees are very nice and welcoming. It makes you feel very appreciative and like family when everyone knows you by your name. That goes to show you they care about their customers. I highly recommend Ameris bank to everyone. Katie Parrish is an excellent manager!!

Recently open an account at Ameris moved here from out of town, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to call home. Talk about southern hospitality I’m from the north and the ladies at Ameris are so sweet , I think her name was Katie she opened my account very nice

Had to Google "Ameris Bank Dothan" to look for their address. Ran across a few bad reviews. Meh. Anytime I those things I immediately think, "who has time for that?". Almost always it is a former employee. Life isn't fair, get over yourself. Show up with a good attitude, do your job RIGHT and all will fall into place. Too many people think "I did my job to the best of my ability". Ok, maybe you did, but maybe (just maybe) your "ability" is the issue. I have been banking there 11 years. Literally zero complaints.
