After several visits - Dirty, unorganized, overpriced, and unfriendly. So much for southern hospitality...

As a vacationer, it’s great to have a convenience store on the island rather than having to drive all the way to Greers. On a few occasions we have needed quick access to meds and have been very thankful to have them so close otherwise you are taking quite the trip off the island. Yes, it is very expensive but honestly what do you expect. They have a captive audience and likely rely heavily on tourists. As for comments about rudeness, I have been going there for seven years (we come to the island every spring break) and have never encountered anyone unkind. I’d actually say that everyone has always been very very kind! The produce is pretty terrible but other than that it’s well stocked for a convenience store.

If they don't have it, it probably doesn't exist! It's a lot bigger than it looks from the road. Staff are great!

For all of those complaining about prices move around. IT'S AN ISLAND!!!! THEY ARE SAVING YOU A TRIP ACROSS THE BRIDGE!!! Do you think the stuff just magically appears on shelves. NO!!! It comes from different suppliers including trips to Walmart themselves. So why not be compensated for THEIR time and gas as well. As far as everyone complains on the island about this store, THAT IS NOT A TRUE STATEMENT AT ALL!!!! FYI they don't need your sarcastic attitudes in the store. They deal with enough things without you being ignorant and asking stupid questions. So the next time you guys want to bad mouth something make sure you know EXACTLY what you are taking about because all of the bad reviews and complaints are just people that got told NO when asked something!!!!!!

Great mini grocery store on the island. They literally have everything. Some produce, frozen food, canned food, souvenirs and a solid selection of beer and wine.

Look, you're a captive audience on Dauphin Island. Grocery stores? Pah! Puh-lease!! Nope! But ya got Ship & Shore. Overpriced? You bet. You're on an island! It comes with the territory, so to speak. It does the job. (Expensively). Limited options. Buuuuut, groceries and beer and wine and hardware store - oh my! Your one stop shop! Annnnd, the people are super friendly and helpful.

This is truly a convenience store. And with convenience stores comes un-convenient prices. The staff was friendly enough. The store was stocked well enough. And the food items were plentiful enough. Just keep in mind - you will pay top dollar. . Paid well over $5 for a 1/2 gallon of milk.

Great hardware store and has a fairly large selection of pretty much everything you need. It is way bigger than it looks.

They have a little bit of everything!! Fresh fruits and veggies, toiletries, drinks, hardware, souvenirs, bathing suits,...... definitely your one stop shop for the island. They even have air to pump up any low tires after the drive!

They do carry about anything you’d need so you don’t have to go off island, just be prepared to fork out some money, prices are a bit high on just about everything but the cheap sunglasses.

I purchased 3 beach chairs for a total of $101.17. My family and I were at the beach and one of the chairs legs bent. I called the store with my receipt and asked if I could swap the chair out for another one. I was told there are no returns or exchanges or even a store credit. I should've known not to buy 3 chairs with a made in china tag on them. I thought the store would at least exchange it for another one. On top of all of that the store is very dirty inside and everything is priced fairly high. I would highly recommend purchasing what you need before getting on the island and not supporting this business.

Limited supply, high prices and bad attitudes. Went in looking for stuff for our daughters diaper rash. The pharmacy section had not been stocked for some time. Asked if we could use the restroom to wet some paper towels and they refused to allow it to be used for our screaming daughter and her diaper rash even though we bought the paper towels from them. Southern hospitality does not live here.
