This is a great daycare from infants to pre-K. All the teachers are great. Everyone there knows your child’s name and it’s one big family. My son loves going to school here and loves every teacher he has had. Highly recommend this school for your childcare needs.

My wife and I are deeply grateful for The Neighborhood School and feel very lucky to have had it as an option. Our daughter started there as an infant as soon as she was old enough for daycare and is now in the Pre-K class. When she starts kindergarten in the fall, she'll be enrolled in the KONA after school program at TNS. They'll pick her up from school and keep her until we get off work. She's looking forward to getting to see many of her TNS friends still even after they go to different schools. This place has been awesome. Even from toddlerhood, it has been much more of a preschool than a daycare. The teachers are very engaged with the kids as they do craft projects, read books, use play centers, sing songs, and play. Our daughter is an only child and the socialization has been great for her, learning to listen, to share, to be considerate of other people's feelings, and to just generally get along in a group setting. We have had zero worries about our child's safety and welfare while at TNS, even during the height of COVID. The school was shut down for only one day in 2020 before the state allowed it to reopen. Teachers wore masks and escorted kids to and from the front door for the months that parents had to be excluded from the building, and every child had their temperature checked every morning during check-in. The staff was extremely vigilant about hand washing, a habit that is happily instilled in our daughter now.The director and owner, Carriann, absolutely loves children and has the kind of patience and understanding for them that 25+ years of child care and early childhood education experience develops. As someone who has pretty much seen it all, she's been a great resource to us as parents.I could easily go on. And on, and on. Suffice to say, if we had to do it all over again, we'd be first in line to send our child to TNS.

I apologize for anybody that saw my previous review it was foolish and unacceptable and it doesn't reflect my true opinion of this school in any way. Both my sister and I attended this school for many years. It exceeded in prepping us for elementary school and we enjoyed our time there.

In my opinion, this is the worst daycare on the Eastern Shore! My child was neglected and didn't receive acceptable care. She wasn't feed on several afternoons. She was also picked up many afternoons with dirty diapers. When these issues were brought to the directors attention she acted as if it wasn't a big deal. After the situation continued to get worst the director said that she hired a new teacher for my daughter's class. It turns out this new teacher was an eighteen year old who had no experience with babies. There was one more incident that was the final straw when my wife found my nine month on lying on the hot concrete outside. Since then I have taken my children out of this daycare and they stay at home with my wife. This place is all about perception and how things look. If you tour the school you may feel that it is the best school around. But grab your child and run for the door. Believe me the perception is not reality. I would like to hope that there are better schools in the area for a lot less! If you are thinking of letting your child go here, just look at the picture I have posted. This picture of my child was taken at The Neighborhood School laying on the concrete porch of the infant/toddler playground. Apparently, they think it is safe for babies to lay on the concrete outside for a nap! Whatever happened to good ole common sense people!
