CHATOM FORD took over six months to fix a 2019 Ford Edge that was purchased new in January 2022. The car had about 35K miles and was still under warranty when it was dropped off at Chatom Ford I wanted to start a written history on the Bonnie Baxter situation, the Ford case number is #CAS39408622. The car a 2019 Edge that was delivered to Chatom Ford on or about September 16th 2022.According to the Chatom Ford Service department Bill Holcomb is the service manager for all Pilger Motors dealerships. I was finally able to reach Bill Holcomb on Monday Nov 7th, it was not a pleasant experience. According to him Ms. Baxter had never authorized the diagnostics on the car so they had not done anything with the car. When I pressed the issue he told me that she had just given him permission to run the diagnostics. His explanation was that they did not want to get stuck with a vehicle because the owner did not authorize the diagnostics and the cost of running the full diagnostics was $1200.00. He also stated that there were 75 cars in line awaiting diagnostics and/or repair, however he was going to put her car back onto the line and that he would call me Wednesday November 9th at 5:00 P.M. At that time he would be able to tell me what was wrong with her car.He then began to justify and explain why the dealership was having major issues getting vehicles through the service department. He stated that it cost him more than $400,000.00 to certify a Ford technician that could testify in court. He added that once he trained them they would leave to take a different position with another company. I found the $400K to be ridiculous so I searched for schools that trained Ford technicians. I found that Lawton University in Birmingham Ala has a two year A,S. program that is part of the Ford Assets program. The cost for the training is about $20,000.00. Of course, he did not call on Wednesday November the 9th as promised, so I called the dealership.I spoke with Andrew and he said he would get in touch with Bill and have him call me. Bill did not call me, instead Robbie called me back and told me he had heard that the car needed a new motor. When I finally spoke with Bill on Thursday November the 10th, he stated he still did not have the diagnostics completed and that there were 75 cars in line in front of Bonnie Baxter. When I stated that was the same number, he had given me on Monday Nov 7th. He told me not to call him again and that he would call me when he had information concerning the vehicle. Mr. Holcomb has never called Ms. Baxter or me back. Finally in or around December 1st Chatom Ford decided that the car needed a new Head Gasket it took about 3 weeks for the part to come into the dealership. According to Chatom Ford the bolts needed to mount the Head Gasket had to be acquired from other dealers since Ford corporate did not have them in stock. The head gasket finally came in and it still could not be installed because they did not have the special tool that was required to mount the bolts that held the new Head Gasket. It was a this point that I contacted Ford Corporate seeking their assistance. I spoke with Mariah Owens around the 1st of December she assigned the case number and contacted Chatom Ford. They told her they were working on the car and that the head gasket would be installed as soon as the special tool came into the service department. It is now around the end of February and they finally installed the Head Gasket and the car still will not run properly. According to Chatom Ford they needed to figure out what else was wrong with the car. I called back Ford Customer Care and demanded that a supervisor look at the case since Mariah was not able to prompt them to fix Ms. Baxter's car. A supervisor with Ford Corporate had a new motor shipped into the dealership. The motor arrives at the dealership and over three weeks later they finally began the repair. On Monday March 6th the new motor is supposedly installed, however the dealership tells Ms. Baxter that she can't have her car back until they know if Ford is going

We nice folks in the service department. Setting an appointment was quick an easy. Once you get there, it goes in with little delay. Oil change, filter, lub job, & tire rotation took just over an hour. I say that's good.

Your service department is in need of help that can competently handle GM vehicle problems. Completely incompetent service, then when someone gets upset because you are not doing what you have stated you would do, which is put our vehicle on the rack yesterday afternoon to fix it, you tell them to come pick up an undrivable vehicle and say you are refusing to fix it. If this is how GM allows their customers to be treated, I'll gladly go back to being a happy Nissan owner. At least they care about their customer satisfaction. As of right now I've had a week of uh, uhm we don't know, to a expectation a warranty company automated system is going to get back through to your automated system ?♀️ to your next to be fixed, and still nothing. Did you think the customer would not get upset????? Again worst service ever! Change my mind!

This was the easiest car purchase I have ever made! I told them what I wanted, I told them what I wanted to pay and they delivered! I am very happy with the deal that I got, I am very happy with what I got on my trade, and I am very happy that I did not have to deal with some fast talking salesman trying to shake my tree. this experience was a straightforward as it gets and I appreciate that very much. keep up the good work Chatom Motor Company!
