I'm from Georgia and was looking for a furniture store in Birmingham to purchase a sleeper sofa for my new apartment in Birmingham. I found a sofa online at Ashley's Furniture, but the item was backordered for 8 weeks. I searched online and found the same sofa at Standard Furniture. I was assisted by Ben. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Ben was able to secure my delivery within a week. When the delivery team arrived, they were very careful with the sofa. I don't write a lot of reviews, but I feel compelled when I receive "above and beyond" customer service. As consumers, we have options. I appreciate companies that understand the concept of competition. I highly recommend this store, and thanks to Ben for making follow-up phone calls to ensure my experience was exceptional!

I purchased a living room set, dining room set, and bedroom set. Very reasonable prices, good selection. We were helped by the manager Ben, was very impressed he went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with everything. He even phoned after the delivery to ask if all went okay. Uncommonly great service. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Carey was wonderful to work with in trying to order furniture under a tight deadline with strict measurements. She was extremely patient, kind and professional. This was the downtown Bham, AL location. I am most thankful for the help Carey provided to me in a very concise and timely manner.

I needed a replacement bed for my daughter quickly because hers broke. Ben found me exactly what I needed and it was delivered sooner than he promised. On delivery day, it came during the early part of the delivery window and they had it set up in 15 minutes. Ben was friendly and helpful - good experience for me.

Very helpful staff. Fast delivery time was set up. Will definitely shop here again05/11/22Changing to one star rating as the wrong sofa was delivered to me. On top of that the downtown store is closed on Wednesday. Corporate office is voicemail.06/20/22 Leaving at one star because delivery people tore the flooring during delivery. I will never shop at Standard again.

I was desperately looking for a bed for my elderly Mother, on a short timeframe. I needed a sturdy side rail and an adjustable base in an attractive bedframe. I just happened upon the Standard Furniture Store in downtown Birmingham one Saturday. The bed that I needed was there and the staff were most helpful. They delivered the bed to my Mother's new senior living facility on the requested day and the delivery team did a great job. They were careful with the walls, other furniture, floor and took away all residual boxing. In addition, they were courteous and wanted to ensure that I was pleased with placement and understood how to operate the adjustable base. I was amazed to receive a call today, a post-delivery check-in call, from the salesman who worked with me. He was just calling to check on the delivery and to see if I was satisfied. He even remembered that I purchased the bed for my Mother and asked about her. I have to say - customer service like this is rare even in places where you pay much more for an item. Great value, lovely bed and impeccable service!

I just want to rave about my experience with a particular salesman. I initially called around each store in the Birmingham area for a chest and 2 nightstands made by Liberty. After speaking with Ben at the downtown location, he took on the responsibility of making sure that my husband and I got the exact pieces that we needed and wanted. He constantly checked in with me throughout the weekend until he found what we needed at another Standard Furniture location about 30 minutes away. Not only did Ben find an amazing deal on our now chest and nightstands, he made sure that we received each item at their discounted sales price for the holiday. After purchasing and picking up our furniture, Ben called to follow up with us and make sure that we had what we wanted. He was such an amazing and caring guy! Because of him, Standard Furniture will be our first choice when shopping for our new home furniture. Thanks so much for all of your dedication and hard work, Ben.

Not very happy with how my purchase experience has gone with Standard furniture. I don't have my furniture that was ordered June, 1, 2021. I am hating that I "special ordered" anything because it looks like I will have paid for it before i ever receive and get to enjoy it. At first, I was told I'd have it in August 2021 which was shocking, but I accepted as long as it was before Christmas. Well Christmas came and went. No furniture, no courtesy calls, no remedies were suggested by standard, but billing continues nonetheless. I call and call. Noone ever calls me with an update. I call to inquire and find that it is delayed again because of supply chain and covid issues, and delivery will be January 2022. I'm livid and disappointed, but trying to stay positive and hopeful. Nonetheless, precise timely billing continues with no furniture in sight.I call at the end of January 2022 to learn that now, my recliner sofa and love seat have been ordered AGAIN and shipping is not expected until the end of March 2022. I was also told that springs and parts of the sofa and love are shipped separately which may be causing additional delays which sounds preposterous.Now I feel lost and possibly scammed out of my hard earned money because I signed a contract to receive furniture that I don't have and seems I can't cancel this order because it was a special order.but im thinking some concessions should be made..in this very special circumstance......i wonder why was it ordered a second time if nothing ever came the first time and after 6-7 months. I think I should have been given a courtesy call and the opportunity to reorder something else off the showroom floor due to this extra special circumstance and to compensate for my time and undue stress and grossly unmet expectations and horrible experiences with customer service here. I need options for remedy of this situation sooner rather than later.. We are approaching a full year with no furniture despite my timely monthly payments. Unacceptable under any circumstances
