Today, I went to the Spectrum store in Trussville to discuss three charges on my credit card. The first charge was easy for the sales clerk to explain. But the other two charges kept being explained as taxes by the sales clerk. Since any consumer knows that only one charge for taxes is legal, I knew that the other two charges for taxes were illegal. She kept explaining it to me the same way with the term "taxes," so we never got anywhere with our conversation.
In fact, the sales clerk even took it upon herself to say things to me that was bound to make our conversation become heated. For example, "you aren't thinking," "your brain isn't slowing down to understand," & "I don't know how to make this any more simple for you to understand." I admitted that having those things said to me was going to make me an unfriendly person and that I was going to start saying things that I would not otherwise say. Then, the sales clerk and the store manager acted as if all of this was my fault.
So, I drove to the Spectrum store in Gardendale to get a fresh perspective from another sales clerk. I was blessed to work with Shaner. In less than five minutes, he showed me each of my bills. However, Shaner explained to me that the charges for "taxes and other fees" are on the same line on the bill, so the restock fee is the total in that category and no taxes were included. This was the same type of charge and explanation for the charge on another bill. Then, Shaner explained to me that the larger bill was the one with the taxes for the phone purchased, noting for me that this was the only time I ever paid taxes. With his calm demeanor and invaluable experience to handle this situation, I left knowing that my issue has been resolved without talking about my brain and my ability. I know who to find next time I need any assistance with my Spectrum account: Shaner at the Gardendale store.

I will never recommend spectrum to anyone. You have a monopoly on home internet where I live, you price gouge for an inferior product, and the bandwidth consistency is horrendous, even with 1 gig. Horrible company.

I had to wait over an hour just to turn in equipment. They had 6 open kiosks and only one person working!

Had an appointment at 10 walked in and was helped immediately. Answered all my questions wasn't pressured to purchase anything. My router was bad so exchanged it all and everything is great now!!!!

The people who are in the store don't know what they are doing and when they ask for the man told her to do it without his help because he was salty like that and walked away and when the lady couldn't get it done we had to just leave the office and hope that the service van had everything when they showed up at my house but never came to the house for two days So if you want me to think about what kind of people running this place then you need to go find some people who like their job and know what they are doing and I am a new customer and I finally got my service man to my door after two days later.But I don't mean to be salty like that to anyone who knows what they are doing and how to speak to a customer and make sure they are on time when they promise to be at a customer's house.Maybe she needs to know what she is doing in a place that is giving customers attention.

This place lied to me the first time I went in...the second time I went in they tried to correct it but could not and told me that I needed to call customer service so it appears to me that they are totally useless. Canceled all of my services!

I was favorable toward Spectrum until I ordered mobile phones. I had to sign at delivery. I was told they would arrive between 8:30 and 10:30, then between 10:30 and 12:30. After neither time was met, I was told they would arrive sometime before 8 p.m. Total waste of a day. I decided to refuse delivery and go with AT&T.
