I cannot say enough good things about my experience today with Southern Rubber Tire. They were knowledgable and professional and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing auto services.
I came in to get 2 tires replaced as they were showing concerning visible wear and tear. I also had them inspect my other two tires as I had been told by Mavis earlier this morning that they were dangerous to drive on and also needed to be replaced.
Despite having the opportunity to upsell me on tires I didn't need, Mike, conducted a thorough inspection of my tires and informed me that the damage was purely cosmetic and that my tires were perfectly safe to drive on. As for the other two, he said that while they were old, that the tread was "like new" and and the tires were also safe.
What truly set this experience apart was Mike's approach; he offered advice as if it were for his own vehicle, focusing solely on what was necessary and best for me. His honesty is commendable.
I am immensely grateful for the respectful and courteous service I received and when my tires do eventually need replacing, I will be returning to Southern Rubber Tire.
They also kindly checked my sister's tires, who had followed me to give me a ride, and while they are close to being in need of replacing, they told her that she probably had 5-10K miles left and that it wasn't urgent.
Their commitment to genuine, customer-first service is refreshing and highly valued - especially in an industry that so often attempts to take advantage of women.

They got to me as soon as I could, and were able to get the tires I needed from another shop to get me back on the road.
I cannot say enough good things about the shop. And the bathroom was incredibly clean. 10 out of 10!

Had a weird experience here with an older vehicle. Unfortunately they seem to be just as shady as the rest of them, using bait and switch tactics. Regardless of the poor service received here, their prices are high even for the location alignment was $100 Even though they were unable to complete a full alignment.Dropped the car off and was told immediately it was a "damaged" control arm and that I needed tires. I agreed to the work order, and almost immediately they came back that it was just a "lose" nut, only price modification was no part needed to be purchased. Either they knew that from the get go or their tech was less than adequately trained. Long story short they charged me $200~ for a loose bolt, they charged full labor for a suspension component replacement that they did not perform.At the time I trusted them so I also got an alignment, they came back and said that there was no Camber adjustment available for the rear end (even gave me a fake print off). That is a lie as another shop later confirmed it was an easy adjustment, and it was completely loose. they sent me on the road with a dangerous suspension component after paying full price.

The best place to get your car fixed. Best customer service. I had a flat tire. I reached out to them and they said they did not have any roadside assistance but bring it in whenever i can and get it fixed. I had a 2 hour wait but the manager Mike over there is so nice that he couldn’t make me wait so he pushed it in front and got it done asap and said I am good to go. The customers who came in while I was waiting were talking to them like they are family. I would recommend this place first before trying anything else.Service: Tires

Top notch auto repair work. Very convenient to downtown and UAB. They are knowledgeable and helpful and do quality work. Highly recommend them for general work or tires and suspension.

I was traveling from Tennessee to Destin, Florida when all of sudden my check engine oil light came on. I immediately got off interstate and pulled into Southern Rubber where all of my oil leaked out of my car. The guys quickly came out and discovered that when I had my oil changed at my local dealership they did not tighten the drain plug and it came out some point on my drive down. They quickly checked I had lost all my oil, but luckily got stopped in time. Southern Rubber had drain plug and was able to replace it and fill my oil and clean and degrease my engine. These guys were amazing with helping me since I was over 4 hours from home and my destination. They were able to give me a detailed receipt to take back to my dealership! If it had not been for Southern Rubber I would not have made it. They were helpful and efficient with helping me get back on road

Needed a tire pretty quick, they didnt have the exact one but got one from another store within 10 minutes. Very friendly and super fast putting it on the rim. Really good price for the service as well !Service: Tires
