Amazing owners and incredible place to let your furry family run around. They actually care about your dogs. No place compares in all of Birmingham (nay, all of Alabama)

We love HH! The open farm concept is exceptional, with access to the sprawling farm and full size swimming pool, it's such a magical place for pups. Because of the open concept, they require a temperament test in advance of boarding. While it may seem tedious to some, it's absolutely imperative to keep ALL dogs safe, which is HH's primary concern. We have such peace that Maisie is in a super fun and safe environment!

Took my two pups here today. They went in for their temperament test for daycare, and I tried to warn them that one of my dogs gets overwhelmed easily on leash. They barely greeted me, and took them without asking any questions and threw them into a fully packed yard without reading their charts. My pup must've gotten too overwhelmed and she started to get protective. The main man at the daycare came out and yelled at me, pointing his finger in my face, and saying rude and abrupt things. I doubt this would've happened to others, but he seemed to think he could get away with it because I'm a young 20 year old girl. Would not recommend this place. I thought that they would at least try to work with my dogs because that's their job but they didn't. Treat your customers with respect.

We searched around the greater Birmingham area for approximately 3 months before we found a place that we were comfortable leaving our pup with. Whereas other kennels and boarding places keep your pet in cages for a large part of the day and rotate them out during the day to play, Howlin Hollows has multiple, large fenced in outdoor areas for your dog to play in all day. All day!! They also have a zero entry pool for your pup to jump in and cool off. The actual kennel facilities are amazing. No cages. You really should at least tour this place before making a decision about whether it is right for your pet or not. It is especially great for high-energy dogs, and dogs that either really enjoy playing with other dogs or that you would like to socialize more. Our pup started off very timid and is slowly becoming much less shy around other dogs. Feel free to contact me personally- i'm happy to share more about my experience with this place.

Horrible. Horrible service also. My dog stayed with them for 4 days and came home with BLOODY feet and they didn’t even tell me. I had to call back the next morning. I spoke with the owner and she basically blamed my dog, saying she couldn’t sit still. I’m sorry, but she plays at home constantly, and has never came home with slashed paws! I had to take her to the vet the next day and now she’s on several medications to help her heal. AWFUL. Do not take your pets here!!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I didn't even make it through the front door of this establishment. We came for a scheduled temperament test today, 12 August 2020. The pup got spooked by a stranger (who never formally introduced himself to me). Said stranger, (who I assume is the partial owner named Scott that I had been warned about by the person who recommended this place) rushed up to my dog while my back was turned as I filled out paperwork, putting his hands in her face unexpectedly and she barked at him one time. The man's reaction was 100% accusatory toward the dog. He took zero accountability for aggressively approaching a dog with which he is unfamiliar, and ignored the fact that he did so in a manner that was obviously threatening to the pup. He simply stood ten feet away and kept saying "I don't like that, I don't like that." He is simply a very offensive-natured person, in my opinion. This pup has graduated from obedience school with flying colors; we've never had a problem at Creative Dog Training in the 3 years she has been going there, and she has successfully completed routine intensive training on a regular basis. I promptly took my dog (the big bad golden doodle, as I will need to start calling her) and left, after the man failed **miserably** on his temperament test. We will figure out another plan for her care, and plan return to the professionals at CDT. People in the dog business should be kind to dogs. I am immensely grateful that I witnessed this encounter before leaving my girl there for four hours. This was a waste of over an hour of my time, and as a doctor, put me in quite the bind figuring out how to get the sweet girl home before being late for work. I am extremely disappointed with this entire encounter and the complete lack of professionalism with which it was handled, however we wish the farm the best with their future endeavors and hope this will serve as constructive feedback for future interactions with clients.

I reached out to them because it sounded like something my dog would LOVE. Turns out they DO NOT ALLOW PITBULLS, any breed mixed with pitbulls. So don't waste your time. After talking to Scott ( an owner) I learned many dogs have been attacked in their care. He also was extremely rude while I spoke to him. I own a Pitbull, I know a lot of people don't feel comfortable around them. But at least post how you dong allow them. And not waste my time. Every dog is different, they won't even meet my dog to see if she is a fit. He flat out shut her down. He made her sound like she was the most disgusting breed in the planet. Then also told me how dogs have been attacked in his care. Not just once but multiple times. They thinks Pitbull are a aggressive breed and they are not welcome there. Please take care of your babies and don't let them go there.
