We like using this chain when we have to stay at a hotel with our whole family. We like the separate living room and the curtain to separate bed from couch. Gets our kids to sleep without us having to be in the dark. Nice hotel and I really appreciated the parking in the city without having to use a parking deck.

BED BUG ALERT!!!! Do not stay here. The hotel offered zero recourse after I received dozens of BED BUG bites all over my body. I even caught one and showed the front desk when I was checking out.My son and I recently stayed in this Home2 Suites for one night. We got the King Suite and were told it was their nicest room (Room 252). Nice enough hotel in general. Friendly staff except for at around six in the morning when the lady setting up the free breakfast very quickly and curtly, asks everyone walking up what room they are in even though she is obviously not tracking any of it.Anyway my son is special needs, non verbal, in a wheel chair. I saw the BED BUG moving as I picked him up and put him in his chair in the morning. I caught it in a coffee cup and left the room. They offered nothing at the front desk when I checked out. By the evening I was covered in swollen itchy bites so I reached back out to the hotel the next morning. After a half hour on hold I gave up and sent an email to Hilton to try and warn them again about the situation. Corporate Hilton gave me an incident number and told me hotel management would contact me. No one has contacted me and it’s been over a week.So now I withdraw my support of this establishment. STAY AT YOUR OWM RISK! THERE ARE BED BUGS, THEY’VE BEEN INFORMED BUT THEY ARE A DEAD END.Rooms: I was told that Room 252, the King Suite, was their nicest room. It was a nice room until I got covered in dozens of BED BUG BITES!

I stayed at Home2 Suites while my dad was in the hospital. We were here for two weeks. The staff was incredible. They were so kind and helped us without complaint each time we needed to extend our stay. Two staff members that stand out are Amanda and Jeremy. They were awesome!Walkability: We were able to walk to the hospital and to get food. We hardly had to use our car while we were there.

2 blocks from Railroad Park which is my fav place in Birmingham! Clean, friendly and centrally located to everything. I always stay here or at the attached Hilton Garden Inn when in town. Both these hotels share the same lobby and parking lot.Pro tip: If you check in after 5PM you can park on the street for free and save yourself $15. Second, the HGI has the better business center so ask the front desk for access.Nearby activities: 2 blocks from Railroad Park. All summer long they offer group workouts for free in the park. The baseball stadium is only 2 block away as well.

I reserved a double queen in this newly built hotel for my wife and my daughter, who was having surgery at Children's, which is two-three blocks away.I had trouble reaching the front desk by phone for early check-in. Between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. is when the phone would ring until it just stopped after about a minute. Happened 2 more times, I believe. I just went on to the hotel and waited in line. There really needs to be an additional staff member for checking in...and at the bar/dining room.I don't fault the service; the staff have been awesome. It appears more of a management issue. The long lines registering and long waiting times at the dining room/bar negatively affect customer satisfaction and hotel profit/sales.The room is awesome, allowing for my entire family of 6 to sleep on a bed, had we needed room for 6. Maintenance and room cleaning service personnel are so friendly and efficient.

Very nice hotel and awesome staff. All were very helpful and attentive, a quality not often found at hotels. Jeremy stood out because of his situational awareness of all guest in the area, not just the one standing in front of him. He is a great asset to Home 2. Definite will stay here again.

I loved everything about this place. Miss Michelle at the front desk was extremely helpful. She navigated me through the hotel as well as local hotspots in the downtown area. The room was absolutely comfortable. The floors were clean. The bathroom was spotless, and I enjoyed the comfortability of the bed and the pillows. This looks like it's going to be our new getaway spot.Rooms: Clean clean clean. Comfortable and made me feel at home.Nearby activities: Banks, food, Red Mountain Theater and shopping.Walkability: All the places I needed were in walking distance.Food & drinks: Breakfast was Delicious and Nutritious. The waffles, the omelette, the bagels, the orange juice and apple juice, the bananas the fruit. Even the biscuits and gravy and grits were top notchNoteworthy details: Every staff member was very very helpful. Even the head of housekeeping made me a promise about my room and kept it. I love the fact that everyone was so knowledgeable about the downtown area. It saved me a lot from trying to Google everything. The staff was extremely helpful and I really appreciate them. Can't wait to return.

The room was spotless, and the service was great. Everyone was super friendly.Safety: I felt safe, but making it so that a room key was needed to operate the elevators would be a great added safety measure.

It’s nice enough, but I found a roach chilling in the room. That never makes me feel good.

We've stayed at Home2 Suites by Hilton several times here in Birmingham. The service is UNBEATABLE!!! We stay here while visiting our sick daughter at UAB. The courteousness of the staff from Management to Housekeeping is astounding.Rooms: The rooms have been VERY CLEAN!!!Nearby activities: There are several eateries and activities nearby from the movies to parks ,churches and child friendly centers.Food & drinks: There are at least 10 restaurants within 10 minutes of the hotel.Noteworthy details: Shane Hay and Amanda has made what we as families go through much easier ,while visiting UAB. Their words and acts of kindness means so much. The staff here definitely has no problem with going the extra mile to leave its guest satisfied.

Michelle runs the front desk and she’s top notch. Very helpful and able to multitask with a smile on her face. Very clean hotel with a nice lobby area. (Breakfast was just ok). Thanks so much Michelle for your hard work on guest experience!
