Normally, this place is okay since it's close to where I eat dinner when I travel. Tonight, though, I got to the hotel. The receptionist had trouble finding my reservation and was making noise about not having any rooms. The hotel took my reservation, though, so I thought I was fine, right? Wrong!I get to my room, and either it wasn't cleaned or someone had already been given that room. I came downstairs to cancel my reservation, and she said she would "let me out" but then went to the back for 10 mins before coming back. Starts checking in other people (so they do have rooms?!?!) and it's only me asking about the room that she said it did it already. There is no paperwork or receipt saying I won't get charged a cancelation fee or anything.Needless to say, the service was unprofessional, and now I have to find a room in a city that's sold out.

It's such a shame to see historically reliable brands deteriorate like this. The last three Hamptons that we stayed in need a complete update. From the gathering of homeless people at the entrance, to the nasty carpet, dirty doors, dripping faucet, and flaking furniture, this location is one I will definitely avoid.

This hotel is a "no" for me. The rooms are tiny and dated. I had to wait about twenty minutes for my room. The phone didn't work in my room, and I wasn't offered another.

The staff is top notch. They are so nice and helpful. The hotel its self could use some tlc and i was highly upset to not have a mini fridge- oh well ice it was, but the staff does a great job.

Room not cleaned. Not enough towels. No tissues. No eggs by 8:15am.The attitude by the front desk staff, made this seem as if we were at a motel not a Hilton.

The first room had hair in the bed. The dining area was out a lot of things. Plates being one of them. I will not be back to this hotel. I have thousands of Hampton stays due to my job. This may be the worst.

Room are pretty bare bones, the showers aren't great and everything else is kind of meh. The hotel has great service and good complimentary breakfast however. It's a budget property for sure and you get what you pay for and I'm satisfied with that. Really good location in Mountain Brook too and the hotel is relatively clean. Meets expectations.Rooms: Budget, no frills.Safety: SafeWalkability: Close to Mountain BrookFood & drinks: Good complimentary breakfast.

I checked in and the first room they gave me was disgusting. Had used towels and coffee cups sitting around the room and then the phone didn’t work to call front desk. After I called to get a new room, the new rooms door wouldn’t stay closed unless I slammed the door.

No microwave, no telephone, no refreshing our rooms at all!!! After 5 days! We come here often, we’ll start looking for another hotel.

Most Hampton Inns are exactly the same. But the staff here was extra welcoming, and the location was pretty convenient.

Our door was not very secure, the room/hallways smelled awfully strong of a perfume-y smell trying to cover up an old musty smoke smell. The pictures made the room look nicer than it was for sure. The room was old and the furniture and everything in it was as well, just kind of dingy and not super clean. Overall if you're looking for a cheaper alternative or just a quick stay it's not terrible for the price but I definitely think we'd choose a different location if we needed to stay in Bham again. Staff we encountered was friendly and helpful.

If you have business in mountain Brook it's a great location. The staff if helpful and friendly. The hotel is a dump the doors stick heating units don't work actually nothing works. The breakfast is hot and goodNearby activities: The zoo and botanical gardens are close.Food & drinks: The included breakfast was good

Rooms are decent. Hotel is very dated, hallways have a pungent odor, not altogether unpleasant but almost 3rd worldly. Most negative aspect is that the Breakfast bar area is a disaster if more than two guests are attempting to make a plate. It’s tiny, and three’s a crowd in there. Toaster was broken and difficult to operate. Stayed three nights and never saw bacon. Only sausage. The staff was above average in friendliness—for Birmingham anyway.
