Denied my car loan application when I needed it most because I haven’t “been on my job long enough.” As a registered nurse who is in high demand during a pandemic, I’m sure that I will maintain my job to pay a car note. Also, they did not verify my source of income by requesting a pay stub to see how much I actually make or check loan payment history. I have never been late on a payment for my home or student loans. She did not offer another solution to my request. They are not friendly at this branch nor do they offer solutions to maximize your saving. The lack of staff diversity is also saddening. Very disappointed and I will be closing my account.

I have been a member of this Credit Union for fifty (50) years; and I have never been treated like I was at this branch. I have gone to the Homewood Branch for 50 years, and could not today because it is temporarily closed. As I entered the Branch I was motioned to go up to a window that had a table in front of it. I understand the Covid regulations; however, when I asked to see the manager three times, I was denied. She (Angela) came back from lunch and sat at her desk waiting on no one. I asked repeatedly if I could go to her desk and sit for two reasons: I’m suffering from hamstring tendinitis; and I had four things that needed to be handled, and it is painful to stand for long periods of time. The young man at the counter said he could help me; even though he kept asking for help. That is one reason I kept asking for the manager, to speed up the process. I came to fill out a “dispute charges” form ( he could not do that), get a temporary debit card, because I was told to cut mine up by someone at the Alabaster location. The cashier at the counter began to ask for my personal information (account number and last four digits of my SS number) in a loud voice and expected me to holler my personal information from 6 Ft away. Talk about identity theft, let’s just tell everyone in the lobby! I was appalled that he cared more about germs than securing my personal identity. I asked to write info on a piece of paper. Then he obviously did not know how to dispute charges, again asking for help. Now Angela gets up to go assist him. She never introduced herself to me, apologize to me for delay or inconvenience. They huddled in a corner of Branch long enough for me to ask if there was a problem. This young man was oblivious as to what to do. Angela finished the transaction, and then they were ready for me to leave. I again asked for a temporary debit card, cash and checkbook cover.I taught Business Education in Jefferson County for 32 years, and none of these employees would have passed in my classes. They need to improve on human relations, how to treat customers, and how to show kindness to older people, especially ones who say they are disabled.I will probably have to return to this branch, if Homewood isn’t open. If I do, I hope I see some changes.

Would give 0 stars if I could. I have been banking with ECO for 10 years and never had a problem. Recently I went through a divorce and had the banker Blake at this location remove my ex from my accounts. DO NOT DO ANY TRANSACTIONS WITH HIM. He doesn't know what he is doing. Even another worker at another location told me he did it incorrectly. He only took my ex off of the checking and not the savings even after I told him to remove from both. I was not aware that he only fixed my checking & My ex was then able to wipe all of my money out of my savings account through transferring it to his personal account. The bank says even though it was a banker error, I have lost my money and there is nothing they can do but ask him to give the money back which he of course will not do. I have tried to get in touch with the head manager over the branches & I have left messages to no avail. Since there are no repercussions for the bankers actions I will be closing both of my accounts as well as both of my sons' savings accounts here.

I absolutely LOVE this credit union! Everyone in there is so personable and truly cares about you. The branch manger Kelley, is AWESOME!!!! She goes above and beyond to help clients. We've financed multiple cars with them, refinanced cars, had business accounts open, personal accounts.. you name it, we've done it, and Kelley and the rest of the team at this branch has made it happen with ease! We now live in Texas, and refuse to leave them! We will always have an account with Eco, for sure as long as Kelley Calhoun is there! If you want a personal banking experience and are tired of the cookie cutter big baking experience, go see Kelley or one of her team members at Eco in Riverchase!

Every experience I have with eCO Credit Union reminds me why, for over a decade, I haven't considered looking for another place for any of my financial needs. The personal touch and attention, while an integral part of everything they do, only serves to complete a near flawless experience and execution in every other area. If you live in the areas they service and aren't a member then you are missing out.
