Manager is awful. They close the store early all the time making little kids so unhappy. Workers do not care. Will be calling corporate to complain.

The store sucks, they allow a few peopleIn the store at a time and make the rest of the people wait in line outside.

I don’t get out much now because I’m disabled and need a scooter to stand and walk for long periods of time. I was in an accident with a drunk driver who hit me and caused a great deal of orthopedic injuries. I wanted to go to the store for a plushie because they bring me comfort. It was moderately crowded when I was there. I felt like the staff and the people in the store just acted like I was invisible. I wanted to go to the back of the store to look at clothing, but I was cut off by a family in the dressing room area, making a bear for a little baby in a stroller. They could see that I needed to get by but just blocked the way with chairs. I tried to go past the bear builder line instead and the staff member just looked at me and ignored me. I patiently waited and then selected a plush to be stuffed when the line had disappeared. The staff member just looked at me and said “I don’t think you can get back here”. I could with no problem, but there was no effort on her part to stand up and move her chair to make it easier. She wasn’t cordial when stuffing my plush. She just seemed indifferent. It made me feel self conscious like I shouldn’t be in the store. She finished the stuffing and I went to the counter to pay. The one NICE employee actually checked the back for me and found an article of clothing for which I was looking. She was super friendly and made me feel better about the experience. I feel intimidated to go back there. But I love their plush. I may just send someone in who can walk next time and they can take photos of the items they have in stock and I can relay what I want from the car. I just felt pretty humiliated and embarrassed of my condition. It makes me pretty sad to think about the whole experience:(

We went to take our son for his birthday last week and the store was closed with no explanation. We went within the listed operating hours. I even called the store a few hours later so see if they'd opened and got no answer. Be sure to call before you make the drive to this location!

I definitely recommend this place to all young and old! Plus they have Pokémon builds too! Can't wait to go back. You guys meet Timber! ? #hessocute #ilovehisjeans

The store manager was rude, unprofessional and condescending. She seemed "put out" when helping me with their computer system which records your voice or music of your choice to put into the bear for your loved one. Just lacking basic store customer service when the store needed it the most. Nor did she help the other employee by assisting/checking out customers during a busy time in the store. The other employee, who was AMAZING, had to go back and forth, stuffing the bears to check out customers, while apologizing to both lines for their wait. The store manager who would disappear in the back when she was clearly needed the most for customer service. Not a good look for a store manager.

Rudest workers I’ve ever encountered. Made me leave 45 mins early because they closed soon. Also told me they have a bear to hold for me and said it wasn’t there when I got there. I’m furious I drove an hour to get this bear, and they treated me horrible!!

I can’t even give this store one star but I had to do it would post. In the 20 years I’ve been visiting Build A Bear in many cities I have NEVER been to one where two employees obviously hated their jobs more. This was the Birmingham Al location at the Riverchase Galleria Mall. We were NOT greeted when we entered the store. My 4 year old granddaughter who had been at the hospital having tests run wanted to go Build A Bear so we went. She excitedly picked out a bunny then got the heart that is supposed to get a little ceremony with it which was NOT done also the barcode was NOT put inside the bunny for identification purposes the person filling the bunny didn’t speak to her he was just RUDE. She went and picked out clothes and accessories and filled out the birth certificate and the cashier was RUDE. Now mind you this was on a Monday April 3 nobody else was in the store shopping and these two were very RUDE. After ringing up a bill of over 75.00 we got her bunny and left no thank you from the cashier no have a nice day nothing . Owe love over two hours away. IN MY OPINION DO NOT GIVE THIS STORE YOUR MONEY.

My sister and niece were racially discriminated against at this location and made to feel lesser than by the staff. Other customers spoke up about their treatment. But the biggest insult is that corporate offered them a $10 gift card when they aired their grievances.
