I took my cat to the Bessemer pet clinic, which my mother had recommended. They told me he might have a dislocated leg and could take an x-ray. They asked if I wanted to bring him back in the morning or leave him overnight because they close at 5:00 pm, and it was 4:00 pm at the time. I decided to let him stay the night because i thought he would be ready to be picked up in the morning. They told me they would be done around 10:30 am and that they would give me a call. If not, I should call them to ask if my cat was ready to be pick up. I called around 10:20 am, and they told me they would give me a call at 2:30 pm after lunch to see if they were ready for discharge. We went to see my cat around 2:00 pm. I asked the receptionist if they had done the x-ray yet, she told me that they had not done it. I questioned myself why my cat had to spend the night there. The receptionist then told me that the x-ray machine was "broken." I was in disbelief. If they had told me sooner, I wouldn't have kept my cat overnight and would have taken him to seek immediate attention. Once my cat was released with a bill of 77$ i was confused since they had not done anything but give him an injection for the "pain" i would not recommend going there at all!!!

I had my cat declawed by Dr Kahn almost two years ago. I now am fully aware of what takes place when a declaw is performed and vow to never have another cat declawed. I have had two other cats declawed at another clinic without any issues. The declaw on my other two cats was performed with a laser. Which Dr Kahn did not use on my youngest cat. Having this done via laser made a tremendous difference, as I learned the hard way! With that said, due to complications that arose as a result of the declaw, I became aware of the long term pain and trauma it causes cats. My cat was sent home with no pain medication and was literally trembling in pain. I had to take him to the emergency vet later that night. And over $400 later we got to go home with strong pain meds to be administered for two weeks plus a cat anti- inflammatory medication. The ER vet said he should have even been given a pain patch immediately after surgery. To think he went through that tremendous amputation of all claws on 4 paws with no pain meds, until I realized he was going into shock ,is nearly more than I can think about. To be clear that my ignorance of what all this surgery does to cats is my fault. I place zero blame on Dr Kahn for my lack of understanding fully of what takes place when cats are declawed. However, I do blame Dr Kahn for not sending my baby home with proper medication and instructions. I blame a trained vet fully aware of the severity of the surgery he performed for not following through with prescribing medication that was created to help with cats in pain. Not only was his surgery more invasive than my other two cats because he did not use laser technology. But he also took off a portion of the toes that extend past the first joint. I'm not sure how that happened but my cats paws look deformed. Nothing like my other two cats paws do. As a result of the declaw my cat will permanently be in pain. He constantly pulls at his paws. I now know they have phantom pain like human amputees do. I cannot explain the sorrow and regret I have for my choices. But had Dr Kahn used laser technology and at least prescribed the needed medication my cat would not have experienced the trauma he did. Halsey was such a happy and assure of himself, loving, and playful little Tom cat. But he is nothing as he once was. His life is forever different as he lives in constant pain, he no longer plays as much because jumping hurts, and the confidence he once had went the day I took him in for surgery. Today he freaks out at the sight of his carrier. Because he knows what that means. So do not take your cat here for a declaw. Really don't do it period. But if you must then go somewhere where they have the technology to perform the surgery by laser. As I don't want another cat parent to see there two year old cat walking around with joint pain that will remain with him for life. Supplements for joint pain help. But having to start so early is just simply heartbreaking.

I call this morning to get my pet a bath and shots if needed. The last time we were there was before the pandemic. I told the receptionist that I had called before but they could not find my information. She told me that’s fine come on in the doctor has walk ins. So I told her we were on our way. When I got there Charlie was reluctant to go inside there was a dog to the side by the doorway and people waiting for their pet. I rub Charlie and put him in the car. I went to sign the book and she ask me what did I need and I told her and also reminded her that I just spoke to her over the phone. She said that the doctor was only taking appt. I told her this is not what was told to me. She then decided to put me in the system as if it was a problem. I then told her to forget about it and I walked out. I try to consider maybe she is having a bad day. I did call her back I was put on hold so long that I hung up and call back again . I told her that I wanted to let her know that she was very rude to me and she did not have to treat me in that way and I would hope that she would ask God to forgive her. She then told me Ok. I know we all go through something’s and I don’t know if she didn’t care for me or my pet but I know one thing for sure . Not that it will matter but They will not have my business.Sometimes it is the people that we hire that makes your company successful or not.On Thursday I call the clinic to make an appointment for Charlie. The receptionist was pleasant when she answered the phone and seems eager to get Charlie in. He was scheduled for the next day the 18th. I filled out Our info and I ask if she could call me because Charlie was nervous. I was told that the drs assistant will come out. The assistant came out got Charlie. I was told what time to pick him up. I picked up Charlie and I was told that he would be a lil drowsy and he was. Charlie has an ear infection, he received some meds and some TLC.also a charm for his collar with his updated info. He was a little nauseous but he has a good appetite. I am glad that I called per the response that I received. Thank you Dr. Kahn and your staff
