Incredible people. Always helpful and kind even though they are super busy taking care of our feline and canine friends. A great place to find a new member of your family!

From the initial arrival at Care Humane Society, we were welcomed with smiles and positive energy from the staff, volunteers, and animals. We could tell the team works very diligently to maintain a clean, well kept atmosphere for the animals. The interaction between the animals and caregivers was something that warmed our hearts. We found the perfect furbaby here and we are grateful for this wonderful organization. The fostering and adoption process was smooth, thorough, and organized. Thank you to all who made our adoption possible.

I've volunteered, fostered, and adopted from CARE, and I can honestly say this is one of the best organizations in the state for animal welfare. The staff is so helpful, and you can really tell they truly care a lot about every pet that comes through their doors.

Care humane society is an amazing place with a caring staff that does amazing things for the dogs and cats in our community. If you are in the position to adopt or foster a dog or cat I highly recommend you check out this place.

It does not matter if you applied and have been approved. They will have you come in and love on the pet and then deny you once you’ve made a bond with a beautiful baby and that baby has bonded with you. BE WARNED!! If you are 100% honest and transparent about letting a cat live a full life and telling them that within that life span they will be able to go outside for exercise and some fun, they will deny you a kitten under 6 months. That you are willing to make a 15-20 year commitment to. We have learned a valid lesson and that is to lie on your application because what they did was absolutely heartbreaking. I only hope that she gets a good and loving home like we would have provided because as a Stay at home Pharm rep and Postal worker that cat would have gotten the best care and love ever. Thank you for the lesson and be warned if you are younger and possibly a minority and 100% honest they will deny you. You are loved in our hearts Sketchers and I hope you find a good home.

The local Humane Society does the best they can with the funds allocated to them for example, the County does not supply enough funds for workers to work weekends leaving a huge gap closed for stray animals. The workers do the best they can with the low funds and the open spots are filled to capacity with loving animals which need to be rehomed. Surrounding counties that do not have shelters create added stress on the Lee County Humane Society because people will simply drive over the county line and drop animals into Lee County. Please donate to LCHS.
